I hear it way to often, I HATE cardio but when you really take a look at what is considered cardio stop hating and start with the top of the list and work down. .
Even your mom and pops did a little cardio.
Everyone wants to find glory on a B.B. stage. But what about all areas of life?
The stage life is awesome and I’m not saying it shouldn’t be a focus. However what about your mental health? What about your friends and families relationships? Your relationship with food? Etc etc.
Can you say you’re 100% dedicated to being your best? That includes all the small stuff.
While in prep did you make sure everything was on point or did you get a little lax in food and training? Can’t be mad if you snacked during prep season. On the flip note did you learn to not feel guilty about food no matter if it’s a pizza/ burger etc.... finding balance is also priority to get hormones healthy again. Learning to become comfortable with a little healthy body-fat is a task after show. Just because you’re lean doesn’t mean it’s healthy all of the time. Hard to make gains without fuel. Work on all aspects of body “building” and watch your offseason become the best seasons. Next stage time you’ll have changes to be shown. Just a random thought from even my own struggles. - Matthew

One of many activation movements I do before deadlifting. Drop the stretching: stretching is telling your central nervous system to RELAX. That’s the last thing you want to do before going big on compound movements. Instead, work to activate the muscle groups involved in the lift. Here I’m hip hinging with tension pulling from in front of me, similar to heavy weight on a deadlift. I’m engaging my lats HARD to keep the bar close to my shins. This helps prevent the weight from pulling my center of gravity forward in the lift. Keep the reps and weights low, were not looking to fatigue just activate.
