I was strolling along, tears in my eyes during my lunch break today, and noticed @OpiumManchester offers a wood fried pizza and a glass of house wine for £10. It was a good pick me up , especially from the news that factory is probably getting shut down. #RIPchildhood#Opium#LunchInManchester
Truly sad over the loss of both Stan and Steph; two men that literally created my childhood. Spongebob will forever be relevant in my life and future generations for its brilliance and life lessons. #spongebob#ripstephenhillenburg#sad#ripchildhood
Today the world feels a little dimmer with the loss of Stan Lee, creator of many beloved super heros such as Captain America, The Fantastic four, Spider Man, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, She-hulk, and so on. The Nerd community loses an icon and what almost feels like a grandfather.
But today I lost an idol. Growing up my dad made sure to instil his love for super heros in me by watching the animated shows of spiderman, spider woman and the X men and of course the movies.
I think I was about ten years old when I first picked up a marvel comic (x-men) to be exact. Reading it I felt I could I identify with the characters, mainly because growing up I also faced discrimination for either my appearance or being so openly different. Stan inspired me to write and draw out my stories about individuals who fought for what they believed was right even though no one asked for them to do so. The stories he created and Co created have touched many of us in a different way or form, whether it was to escape reality into a fantasy world for fun or to help us cope when the real world was too nasty to face. I thank you Stan for creating the X men especially Wolverine and Night Crawler and Magneto, I thank you for creating She-hulk, thank you for Spiderman And finally thank you for being apart of my childhood.
My one wish was to meet you Stan, but a las I won't have the pleasure of coinciding with you in this life. But know that you will be missed by me and by your billions of fans around the world. Rest easy Stan and run towards Joan, she's been waiting for you to join her in the after life patiently. My heart and prayers are with your friends and family.
Rest in Peace Stan Lee
I opened up a forgotten tote full of clothes I haven’t worn since high school, and I gotta say... I should go back to wearing strictly graphic t-shirts and jeans like back in the day. What happened to my sweet style? #ripchildhood
