Had planned a big send off tomorrow for all my CycleBarn Riders but the universe has other plans. Tomorrow was to be my last regular class Monday 8:30am. I have business that is taking me out of this gig on the regular... and....sadly it seems our very old dog needs to be put down tomorrow. So Stephanie Davies will be in the saddle tomorrow for what was to be my send off. You are in good hands. Look for me sub’ing in for Barn instructors here and there. They can’t keep me away 😜. Killer ride, sharing some thoughts. (Read below)
Today was one of those days that suddenly I felt incapable and kind of new I had to regroup several times, because it was a hard one! But the growth was amazing. And here is why.
We all like to feel like we killed it, that we are the best at what we do. We want to be the last one to sit down and the one that does it gracefully, But what happens when there’s a challenge? do you use it as a reminder to keep improving or do you look for all the reasons to sabotage yourself? Do you think: “wow that workout (situation or challenge in life) pushed me to the hardest, I killed it because I gave my best and that’s going to make me stronger, I changed and I stepped into the next level?”, or do you think: “man, that was a disaster I prefer my comfort zone, next time I’ll just go with the flow so I can finish?” What do you say to yourself? Because our thoughts are powerful they can motivate us or bring us down.
Remember: growing hurts!! and it is challenging in all aspects of life, spiritually, physically and mentally. But, if you want to grow you have to get out of your comfort zone, you have to give it your all in every instance, you have to let it happen and learn to be ok with it, more so learn to love it.

This is one huge reason why I workout daily and one thing I can recommend to people who also suffer from anxiety or depression. Get your body moving to change your physical, mental and emotional states within minutes. Do it for more than a good body; exercise for a happy heart and clear mind. And remember if you struggle with mental health - just like physical health - you are not alone and there are things you can do to help yourself right now. There are people who stand with you - or in this case pulse with you. There are people who understand, and need your support too. You are ok. I’m with you, and we are ok. Fitness Fact: if you’re not enjoying the journey, screw the destination. 💪🏼❤️ Your workouts should be enjoyable and push you at the same time. For ex: If you love dance cardio but try to force yourself to run because you heard it was “better” (and you hate running) guess what?! You’ll quit as soon as it gets too uncomfortable or you’ll look for any excuse not to do it. And then you’ll fail to get results, and then you’re frustrated as hell. My advice, try something and give it a chance, BUT if you hate it, drop it! There are a million ways to move your body. Find one that gets you results because you want to do it and you’ll stick to it. Find accountability in a tribe. Find a coach who understands your fitness preferences but still pushes you. Stop worrying whether or not your preferred workout is the most optimal and just keep going. But also don’t stop progressing.
