So I'm currently living in a house not owned by by parents but thank heavens they are good people, not perfect though; but then again who is.
Now there is a 13 year old girl and her younger sister who lives there too , just like me we are not their children.
But I don't know if is some kind of food they ate or is what they taught them in school or over familiarity that makes them now think I'm their mate.
The younger one just woke up this morning and said gimme your key(to open doors that is)
Ha! No good morning sister, no sign of respect.. Aunty shebi I'm now ur mate?
I quarried her and refused to lend the key till she does the proper thing. She went to her elder sis and she too did the same thing.
Haba.. Kilode.. Shebi I have turn to una age mate abi.. No one is getting this key until the right thing is done. I was furious. What have I done to deserve all this. An hour past. And they needed that key to get to school. The eldest sis even had exams ni
The younger one eventually did the right thing and it took the elder one another 30mins to say good morning and then she murmured that she will greet when she wants to that I can't force her to greet. Ehen, I won't force you to greet me, but I won't let you treat me the way you want to too. PERIOD!
She eventually went late to school. I shook my head.. Pride really goes before a fall. Then i berated my self. I should watch out too. So I don't become a victim of falling due to pride.

Today was our last workshop of the year, addressing mental health, education, and how to get connected with resources. We’ll resume in the spring when our wonderful @temple_cph grad students return. Three years ago, I approached some AAPI leaders to ask if they were interested in creating a support group for disabled people and their families, one person said, “We don’t have any people like that.” Such simple words... that totally erase 1 in 4 Americans that identifies as disabled in our communities. What I have learned over the years is that you have to find your people. I am thankful that I did. Because of them, we now have a place where we can ask questions and learn together. No family has to struggle so hard, alone, anymore, to navigate challenging systems. Thank you to Pastor Qiuji, @Harry Le ong44, Roger Ideishi, @temple_cph student volunteers, Mandy, Carol, Idi, and Karen for sustaining our communities. Alone, one person’s struggle is dismissed as an anecdote. Together, we can powerfully advocate for systemic change and make things better for many communities, not only immigrants. #DisabilityRights#Grassroots#LanguageAccess#BelovedCommunity#Policy#Advocacy#DoBetter#RealTalk#InclusionRevolution#Respecr#Empower#Include#Organize

“You look healthy tho.” I was like “oh, again.” 🤷🏻♀️ The first phrase was I was told by someone today. I had the time that I had to talk that I wad in recovery from Eating Disorders and that person said to me “I’m sorry to fear that,” and that words came after. I wasn’t mad at the person because the words came from “ignorance.” I was so mad at this situation when I was pro weight restoration but still did restrictive eating, wasn’t able to accept my body, which meant, I was stuck in quasi recovery. This time, I didn’t develop anger at all, though I was sure hurt by the words. Instead of just pushing through the feeling, I took the situation as the opportunity to let the person get an accurate information. So I told the person that Eating Disorder is not really about body shape/appearance, Eating Disorders are not just anorexia and bulimia, people suffering from ED doesn’t have to be emaciated. People recovering from ED have whatever body shapes because recovery journey has a lot of phases and there could be the phases people are extremely thin but also the phases where the people look “healthy,” but still bravely fighting against the evil ED thoughts when it comes to especially anorexia. You can’t tell the person in front of you are actually those who are struggling/recovering from ED by just looking at his/her appearance.
That person who said the words that could be so triggering to some people battling with ED, including my old self, seemed to understand me and she was like “oh, I’ve never heard of all what you explained to me,” which was actually the reaction I expected to get! It’s true that I was hurt by the words to some extent (though it’s not trigger words anymore), but I am so happy that one more person now know more proper knowledge of ED. I believe spreading the accurate informations about ED is so worth it, though it’s true that it will likely take a while to increase the population having a proper understanding of ED, which could decrease the frequency of the chance that people struggling with or recovering from ED get the comments from the others which would affect their recovery journeys. I didn’t have a capacity to do it before, but⬇️⬇️
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6. So I see this affirmation post on Facebook and it caught my attention. I wanted to see what my affirmation was and it came out nurturing. I found it interesting. I don’t have kids. But, coaching basketball has given me an opportunity to raise up the youth. It’s such a divine way to show young men how to be respectful, trustworthy, and good to others. I know they see it as just a sport but, later on in life if they stick with it they will see all the other benefits unfold right before their very eyes. I am nurturing. I train young boys how to become young men. God I thank you for my opportunities to give back as many coaches have given to me. Allow me the strength to stand boldly in my faith and glorify your name. #amen#reborn#train#nurturing#newtrain#newnurturing#teach#lead#beanexample#demonstrate#grow#love#embrace#respecr#learn#admire#thankful#godstrong#amazed#affirmations#speakexistence#speakpraise
Boys & girls this was high technology back in the ‘90’s!! Polaroids 🎞 were expensive so we used them for special occasions. Here I am in 1991 with my BFF @barbwest and meeting her little egghead baby @michellewestbladh (who I am happy to report grew out of this stage and is a magnificent creature now) for the first time. Notice Barb’s shoulder pads~ I think she was trying out for the NY Giants that week!🏈 And yes, that was my natural hair color. ⚫️ While this seems like many lifetimes ago, my friendship with both of these petunias🌺 has only gotten stronger and endured many stormy 🌪times and the immense distant between NY & Stockholm. Why?? We always maintained respect for each other and truly listened to each other when we weren’t in agreement. I have severed many a friendship in my life bc without respect there is no foundation. I would rather be alone than in a relationship built on sand bc it will always play out the same way. Excuse my reminiscing, it is ☔️ and therefore I am a bit melancholy over the great loves in my life that are still here!💞💜💞 (📸my Mom🤗) #Moknows#nowyouknow#friends#friendship#love#forever31#respecr#wednesdaywisdom#wednesday#90sfashion#stylist#polaroid
This makes me sick... Our world is going to hell... we are all equals no matter our race, gender, sexual preference, religion, or polices... Always treat others as equals, just like Martin Luther King said 55 years ago today All man are created equal!!! #equals#respecr#loveoneanother
My heart is utterly broken. I was working on a post about her that I started yesterday. And how she is one of my first musical memories I have. And how & why I saw her face everyday from the age of 6 to 18. And so much more. But I can’t quite see thru my tears. I’ll finish it later. Aretha Franklin is dead. But the Queen of Soul lives on. Forever👑 (Just going thru my feed now. Literally almost every post is of her. It’s a glorious sight. Scrolling on & on, just images & videos of her. Thank you, Lulu’s Tribe🙏🏽)
