Another remodelled piece finished!
We had a fabulous lady come to us with three rings. Her grandmother's ring, a rose gold band, her mother's ring, a yellow gold wishbone ring and her own yellow gold sapphire and cubic zironia ring. She wanted to combine the three generations into one ring. 💕
The result as you can see was stunning, both visually and in sentiment.
We melted the two yellow gold rings and rolled out the metal to create a thin band either side of her grandmother's rose gold band.
We then used all the sapphires and cubic zirconia we could from her ring along with her families birthstones and sprinkled them around the band in an illusion setting.
Our client was thrilled and a little tearful at the result of her family heirloom. 💍 ''Its like Mam has given me one final birthday/Christmas present. My birthday is on Christmas day, her and dad always ensured I got a birthday and Christmas present....this year is no exception, the ring is one gift, the sentiment another!"

It’s been a few months since I’ve updated here! It was a tough call between pics of my baby Frances (who rules) or some renovation work. Tomorrow will be both! • • This completed renovation in Riverdale was a full basement renovation, where Team Faroe framed, drywalled and finished this custom work. We built the stairs after opening up the stairwell to widen the space, finished and trimmed; framed and installed three pocket doors and two sliding custom closet doors. We built a neat wine rack and framed-in some built-in cabinets. Vinyl plank flooring and full tiled bathroom complete with frameless glass. • • The main floor renovation work involved gutting the existing floors and subfloors to shim up, flatten and closely level for the beautiful new dark oak hardwood we installed. Second best and more cost effective approach to full on “sistering” new floor joists for level. We framed in and finished a new fireplace as well as the framing-in and finishing of the cabinets to flank the fireplace. Floating shelves here and along the stairs face-framed with poplar.
Sometimes in climbing or in #rebuilding a house it's the smallest things that make a huge difference. Like having light switches or a quick draw. As a thing they mean so little but as soon as we give them a function they enrich our lives. How weird...
You can't imagine how long we had to fight and how many obstacles we had to overcome in order to being able to having these little fuckers installed. ^^
ELECTRICAL WORK IN PROGRESS. Someday soon, lots of delicious breads and pastries will come out of this bakery. In the meantime, here we are, working hard to make sure all rigid conduits and electrical work are done correctly.
Day 2: All the carpets are up in the house which has revealed the amazing state the floorboards are in. Hooray! Also started removing some of the wallpaper. We also got to meet one set of neighbours after they smashed in to our car. Whoops! 🚗🏡
The big day. Definitely a stressful one for me. We poured 34 meters for the foundation. This was my first large pour and I learned many things. (The hard way) the biggest being. Make your forms way way stronger than you think you will need. In the end it all worked out and we now have a building sitting on the slab.
