🌞 Stretch to the Sun is such a beautiful book! This book follows the life of the tallest tree on Earth, from sprout to majestic giant. I had the privilege of visiting the Redwood National Park as a child and can still remember the magnificence. The tree referenced in the book is 380 feet tall and still growing. Author Carrie A. Pearson uses sound and detail to make you feel like you are actually in the forest. As you can see if you swipe through, the Illustrations are exquisite. Me in my happy place, Redwoods everywhere ❤️✨
I woke up early this morning. 4am!!? 👁 and wanted to share this poem that was dancing in my mind. Anyone else waking up with the roosters lately? Lying awake in our yurt in a small village in Guatemala. Dreaming awake. 💕
✨ In your light I learn how to love. ✨
In your beauty, how to make poems.
You dance inside my chest where no-one sees you, but sometimes I do,
and that sight becomes this art.
Goodnight/ morning dreamers ✨

Photos hold a lot more than meets the eye. To a viewer this is simply me in the redwood forest. However, when I see this photo, I remember being physically uncomfortable due to some shots I was taking at the time. I remember feeling loved and cared for. I remember being told to take it easy, but the idea of missing the sight, smell and presence of these magnificent creatures wasn’t something I was willing to do.
This photo is dear to my heart for so many reasons and it makes me appreciate the invention of cameras. #tbt
“In those days, we finally chose to walk like giants and hold the world in arms grown strong with love. And there may be many things we forget in the days to come, but this will not be one of them.” - Brian Andreas
I dreamt of you the other night,
of land we’d roam out West,
of stories told amongst the Giants,
how their silent dialect tells them best.
I dreamt of miles traveled,
just us and the open road,
of places and faces we’d explore,
how I felt my heart explode.
