The new GLAZE and MASH at @eatredhaven are an absolute delight. The GLAZE features crispy Brussels sprouts and cauliflower with a delicious sauce. The MASH is their classic with puréed sweet potato and chorizo in a panko-crusted coating with feta. So delicious!!
Fifteen years of adventuring the ups and downs of life with this handsome guy! I'm so very grateful for the goodness of God to bring us together at the right moment, and then giving us the tenacity to weather the storms to become the team we are today. As always, you were better than a dream come true, cause I didnt know such amazing men existed! I love doing life with you.....and, yes, I've even learned to like the beard. (Just look at that babyfaced fella in the "before" shot!!) P.S. Red Haven restaurant in East Lansing/Okemos is delicious and serves locally sourced food! Love that we got to celebrate our anniversary while supporting a local establishment that shares our food philosophy. 💟

Pic taken last night by my big bro @truedogbrother. Playing for Rifflandia festival for the first time was a total blast. My fellow @sister_says players all killed it and I couldn't ask for a better way to cap off probably my most intense summer as a professional drummer and as a person. -got to tour with @redhavenmusic and @sister_says off and on throughout the summer.
-played on around a dozen different sessions with as many artists, released records with Red Haven and @loganandnathan with a bunch more on the way.
-got to gig and perform with so many amazing artists this summer. I am lucky to have played with a lot of old friends and have made a bunch of new ones.
-got to play to 1.5 million viewers for Aboriginal People's Day with Sister Says. That was a big highlight.
-I teach a bunch of fantastic people and seeing my students growth has been an amazing experience.
-I got back into running and am dilligently trying to go to the gym as much as I can.
On the flip side, I definitely discovered my limits in terms of how busy I get and the toll that has on my physicial and mental health. Had a few personal trials and tribulations this summer as well. Also, I am already not the most organized person and am trying my best to improve in that way, especially after the craziness of this summer. But, this is all about growth. Learned a lot of lessons.
Lots of things to come. I've got some more records and gigs coming that I can't wait to tell you all about, including a few projects of my own as I try my best to challenge myself and push myself out of my comfort zone. I also hope to spend a lot more time with my family and friends in the next little while and not let myself get lost in the hectic madness of my schedule. On a final note, halfway through the Sister Says set last night, I looked down at my hands holding my sticks and thought, "I'm going to do this for the rest of my life." I truly love what I do.
Peach peeling, done! ✅ Over the past two weeks, our kitchen crew has hand-peeled 26,000 pounds of Red Haven Peaches. Now you can enjoy the (literal) fruits of our labor in every jar of Red Haven Peach Preserves.

Meet Joe Daly. He’s been growing Red Haven Peaches for us for decades on his family’s farm near Hart, Michigan just a few miles from the Lake Michigan shore. Red Havens aren’t the easiest to grow, and a few years ago Joe got so tired of them that we had to talk him out of plowing his whole block under and starting fresh with less fussy (but far less flavorful) peaches. 😮 We’re grateful that Joe continues to grow the Red Havens we love, just for us. This year’s crop of peaches are some of the best we’ve ever tasted.
Our stand is open! Come visit us at our farm, 224 Hunter rd in Niagara on the lake. Everything at the stand is $5. 3L not-so perfect peaches, 2L almost-perfect (though they look pretty perfect to me!!) and quart size nectarines.
