Part 5 of Hamstring Week! 🚨🔥 Now we’re talking hamstrings. 🙌 If you’re going to be stretching your hamstrings let’s do it right. 🔑 If you feel the stretch in your calf, you’re not stretching your hamstring. It means you’re just pulling on your sciatic nerve. In that case, relax your foot and point your toes down. You should only feel the stretch above your knee. 🗝 When you lean forward, lead with your belly button instead of your shoulders. This will make sure you keep your back flat and gets more of a stretch.

Part 4 of Hamstring Week! 🚨🔥 🤔 This one has nothing to do with your hamstrings. But if you found out in the self test that you had more nerve tightness than muscle tightness then this one is for you. 👉🏼 🏃🏼♀️ Tightness in the back of your leg can be muscle or nerve. If it’s nerve then stretching your hamstring won’t do any good. This exercises mobilizes the sciatic nerve and gives you better mobility throughout the whole back of your leg which helps get you closer to touching your toes.
Part 3 of Hamstring Week! 🚨🔥 If you found out in the hamstring test that you didn’t actually have tight hamstrings but it was your body over protecting you this is the exercise for you. 👊🏼 ☝🏼 First step is to get your hamstrings and body to stop protecting you and to relax a little using the lacrosse ball. ✌🏼 Then once your hamstrings aren’t overprotecting you anymore, take a light weight and strengthen through your new range of motion with a deadlift. This teaches your body that it’s OK to move and gives you strength through new range of motion.

Part 2 of Hamstring Week! 🚨🔥 Tightness in the back of your leg with bending forward doesn’t have to be hamstring tightness. It could also be nerve tightness or a protective reaction in your body. 🤯
Two quick tests to find out what type of tightness you have. If either of them allow you to move further or feel less tightness - then your hamstrings aren’t tight. ❗️If you can go farther or feel less tight when you squeeze your fists, it means your body doesn’t think it’s safe (hint: it’s safe) to go forward and it’s overprotecting you. ‼️ If you can go farther when your heels are slightly elevated, that means that you have more nerve tightness than muscle tightness. So stop stretching that muscle! You’re not going to get anywhere.
Once you find out what your tightness is, then you can actually stretch or strengthen what needs it and you will get much more flexibility out of it.
How many times can you hear 'why, why, why' from your kids?

Chegamos bem, confiantes e, me arrisco a dizer, num equilibrio pouco visto entre as duplas concorrentes, o que nos ajudou a não fugir da nossa estratégia mesmo nos momentos mais críticos.
Mais do que o componente físico, afinidade, confiança, respeito e companheirismo são fundamentais, principalmente, sob o nível de estresse que essa prova impõe. Sem dúvidas, nada disso nos faltou!
E assim fomos ... dia após dia até o grand finale.
Tive o prazer de vivenciar essa experiência com um grande amigo. Com certeza, a pessoa ideal pra essa empreitada!
Guardarei essa lembrança pro resto da minha vida com enorme satisfação.

Meu maior adversário sou eu mesmo. Às vezes afobado exagerando no treino, outras com preguiça de sair pro treino, mas nunca desistindo! Nada pode me parar!
Se ontem largamos "às cegas" sem saber quem eram os nossos concorrentes diretos, hoje foi um verdadeiro gato e rato.
Os caras colocaram um ritmo insano desde o início, com constantes trocas de posições até os últimos km.
Administramos bem, mas foi uma etapa extenuante física e psicologicamente!
Fechamos a etapa em 4° lugar mas continuamos em 3° geral e seguimos na luta.
Amanhã será o grande dia!
Que os bons ventos soprem a nosso favor!
Pra cima deles!!!
#tbt - After mashing your hands paddling 100km+ for over 24hrs straight, you deserve a few days to rest and heal up, right? Well, not in some adventure races… During the Eco-challenge North American Championship in 2003 teams came off of an epic paddling section - it began on the Michipicoten River, then travelled down the entire coast of Lake Superior Provincial park, and didn’t end until teams were a few kms upstream on the Montreal River - only to then have to assemble their bikes for a 150km+ ride. Many teams opted to take a short rest and refuel before continuing, a few others decided they had come far enough.
