I've hand pieced a few more strips for my Thimble quilt. I take out the safety pins, and replace each one with two appliqué pins which hold adjacent thimble patches together. These little pins are good because they are short, but also because they don't let go. They rarely fall out of my work. I move up the strip, pinning about four pairs, and then hand piecing them. Meditative and relaxing work. It ought to be boring, but I find that a good TV show works a treat. At the moment, I am enjoying recorded episodes of Grand Designs.
Thanks to @oh_howsplendid, I was able to pick up an official Fender Squier Bullet Stratocaster earlier this week for a steal. She does need some work, namely new strings, bridge and machine heads. Maybe even a good polish. It sounds amazing though, even with the four worn strings it currently has. Also, thanks to @denveralbertyn for going with me to help decide if I was making a good buy. 🎼🎸
