Our #SlowFashion Spotlight with: Corina Redmore from the Craftaid Shop at St Thomas Church in Lancaster.
“The shop has been here for over 30 years! We are entirely staffed by volunteers and sell a range of handmade and fairtrade products.
“Much of what what we sell is also recycled, organic and made of natural materials. We work with projects in some of the world’s poorest countries. We sell beautiful clothes and accessories from Nepal, Ecuador and Peru for example, from knitted hats to embroidered handbags. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“We are a registered charity and the vast majority of money we take, goes straight back into projects which help people earn a fair wage.”

When @emptyhanger said let’s take a picture my heart grew three sizes. I didn’t think it was possible but she’s even nicer in life than she is online. And we had the same necklace on. Well hers was a J 🤣
I look awful but 🤷🏼♀️#emptyhanger#poshfest2018

🗑 This week, we’re talking about garbage. Yes you read that right, we’re talking about trash, unwanted goods… but more specifically, textile waste.
📽 To kick things off, we wanted to highlight @MetroVancouverBC’s video that does a great job showing the city’s waste facility and where discarded clothing goes. According to Metro Vancouver, textiles make up 20,000 metric tonnes of waste each year, and it’s equivalent to 34 t-shirts per person per year.
