Last week the party faced a flesh golem the size of a mountain (literally) and killed it before it could destroy the Village of Barovia. Anvil accidentally killed his horse, and the party met Corvane, a terrifying monk who works for Strahd. This week, they encounter the wives of Talmot, destroy a sanctuary, and Anvil makes a bad deal. #DnD#5e#DungeonsandDragons#DnD5e#rpg#SunDnDay#CurseofStrahd#Ravenloft#Strahd#Barovia ⠀
More death in D&D today, this time very unexpected and at the merciless talons of a Roc Bird. Can you smell what the Roc is cooking? Because tonight, it’s cooking Mark’s character. 💀💀💀#dungeonsanddragons#dungeonmaster#dyingissuchabitch#darrellsucks#strahd#curseofstrahd#ravenloft#rocbird Repost from @amosbiallystock using @RepostRegramApp - In an valiant effort to save his party’s deformed half spider/half horse from the clutches of a giant bird, PI Poe, the Aaracocra Fighter/Ranger,who fought crime as a private investigator by day and as a vigilante by night, who somehow ended up in the cursed land of Barovia, died. Yes, the giant bird was bested by an even gianter bird. He died along side Druid Bara More and Horse Tony, the previously mentioned deformed creature that both Poe and Bara hated. But no matter how much Poe hated the creature, he could not let it die without a fight. Too bad the fight was too much for him. RIP. #dnd#characterdeath#tragic#ontothebackupcharacter
I pull three cards from my D&D character Prianna's tarokka deck before each game, so she gets a "feel" for what's in store for her. Given that it's a Ravenloft deck, most cards are some form of gloom or doom, but today's reading was hopeful and lovely.
Quando as brumas o cercam não adianta desesperar, tente apenas ser o mais justo possível e com sorte um dia você irá retornar a sua terra natal ;) #rpgdemesa , #dnd , #ravenloft , #rpgbrasil , dndbrasil
So, last weekend we started a multi-session one shot Ravenloft ttrpg story with @skugga.baldur, @brainoiz, @docmammoth and Night. 👍
The story is set in the domain of Richemulot, which has, over the course of previous, old (really old) campaigns that I DMed, undergone significant changes. The ruler of the land has been... ousted and replaced, and Richemulot's timeline has advanced to the end of (what is Earth's) Baroque and the beginning of Rococo. It's 90% homebrew now. 😊
The first session was fun, with the party mapping a delicate social situation among a city's nobles and leaders, gathering all the information they could to be able to decide whether to take on a risky quest that would take them across the border into Borca. There was no combat at all this time, aside from a round or two when a sneaky street urchin (a goblin, when not within the city) got chased down for interrogation. Sure, combat is also ok -- we'll see what the next session brings about.
The photo is of some of the old books - pages turned to non-relevant sections, of course, to avoid spoiling it all. (Thanks to @colosseumrex for the GM prep shot idea. I wouldn't have thought of it myself tonight. Not when I'm this tired.) Also, longest description I've ever written here. Don't know what's gotten into me. Sorry. 😐 (Curious about what kinds of stories I write? Link in bio. 👀) #dungeonsanddragons#dnd5e#geek#geekery#tabletop#ttrpg#penandpaper#roleplaying#roleplayinggame#ravenloft#dungeonmaster#story
AD&D Ravenloft I6 Adventure Module 9075 - Advanced Dungeons & Dragons - TSR
This Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Adventure Module is for 6-8 characters levels 5-7. The module is complete. The outer cover shows sign of wear, but the inside is in great condition.
Last week Anvil got arrested for asking about consecration, bringing Strahd’s attention to the party. In an attempt to find Anvil’s belongings, Kithri accidentally blew up the barracks, and a large chunk of the Village of Barovia burned down. This week, the group walks into a trap, encounters more cursed items, and becomes the saviors of Barovia. #DnD#5e#DungeonsandDragons#DnD5e#rpg#SunDnDay#CurseofStrahd#Ravenloft#Strahd#Barovia ⠀

To celebrate our anniversary we will be releasing something special for you every day this week beginning with this illustration of Dawnbringer Roman by the talented Lars Krantz. “Vallaki... Krezk… What have we done? But at least we got what we came for. Lathander, bless us... and forgive us..."
Day 18- Favorite monster (Immortal)
I mentioned that in a previous post that my favorite setting is #ravenloft and it so happens my favorite immortal resides in this demi plane of dred he created out of his own sorrow and heartache.
#countstrahdvonzarovich the vampire lord of all vampires.
I really like him because he isn't your typical bad guy filled with hatred and evil. He is cursed and is forever trapped in a horrid prison of his own making.
The story goes that #strahd was once a warrior for law and justice as a mortal man. By the time he was middle aged, his younger brother Sergei planned to marry his beautiful bride to be, Tatyana. Strahd fell in love with Tatyana but she rejected him in favor of his brother. Consumed by jealously and brooding hatred for Sergei, he made a dark pact, a pact of blood, in hopes to restore his youth and win Tatyana's favor. On the day of Sergei and Tatyana's wedding, Strahd murdered his brother and pursued Tatyana who flung herself from the high castle wall.
Strahd lives on in a loop, continuously pursuing Tatyana who's soul is reborn in a new resident of the demi plane.
Strahd himself is not a villain by nature, he has just been twisted by love and desperation.
And like a vampire, he cannot die, when slain, he only turns to mist and returns to his casket.

Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd Edition:
Ravenloft Monstrous Compendium
Appendix III: Creatures of Darkness
Where the first Monstrous Compendium for Ravenloft is to be considered essential to run that setting, and the second helped flesh of some of the creatures further, this third MC does great work at supporting, and also expanding the list of thematic horrors.
There are several new lycanthropes (were-creatures), golems, liches, vampires, problematic familiars, cloakers, "mimics", animated figurines, and much more.
The Ravenloft setting has always drawn heavily on creatures from literature and film, and this book does as well, and while descriptions have been altered to let them work on their own, there is no reason a DM should not refer to the critter's origin, and re-enact an Alien, Gremlins, the City of the Lost Children, or Night of the Living Dead — Resident Evil, even! — scenario with their new pawns.
Honorable mentions go to:
▪ Carrion Stalker — fantasy "facehugger"
▪ Fenhound — a Baskervilles original
▪ Flea of Madness — nobody play the barrel organ
▪ Gremishka (Gremlin) — somebody fed it after midnight
▪ Headhunter — literally
▪ Jolly Roger — why not command your ship after death?
▪ Sea Spawn Master — a demi-planar Slaad of the sea
▪ Petrification and Phobia Virus — chemical warfare of dread
▪ Cannibal Zombie — get ready for an infection
Aside from a few Stephen Fabian images, William W. Connors illustrates throughout — and does a marvelous job of it!
Go on! Get it ASAP!

If you are super lucky or rich, then used copies of the Ravenloft Monstrous Compendium Appendix III exist but it should also be available as a PDF on dmsguild.com
