The decision to sell the NSU gives me the green light to move onto the next project. Since Honda has re-introduced it’s world-famous Cub, time for me to do a stretched out speed version using this 1964 frame. That cb100 swing arm may get swapped for a Bridgestone unit. A c200 engine should give it some boost. #supercub#hondacub#racebike#onepieceatatime#c200#hondapushrod#ironhead
A close look at the race bike ahead of this weekend’s WMRRA Rd.4 at Pacific Raceways in Auburn! This weekend will serve as a memorial to my dear friend Richard King #55 with a parade lap at lunch! Bring some ear plugs and watch some racing this Saturday and Sunday. Feel free to get ahold of me if you have any questions! Weather looks like it’ll be perfect!
This weekend was eventful! Started off riding @sagewilkinson 2015 Suzuki GSXR 750 working on set-up for FP. On the second session we got a hole in the radiator. I jumped on my bike and turned some laps. We fixed the gsxr and then the body work came off. We decided to retire the gsxr for the weekend and just ride the r6. We qualified 2nd for FP on old take off.
First race of sunday was 600 superbike took off in the leaded was having crazy issues with my R6 where it kept cutting off the engine like it was trying to shift. Won the race still. Turns out my quick shifter was grounding out on the engine and killing power. We fixed it before FP. .
FP started with a good start going into turn in second. It was a 4 way battle for first 5 laps. Then andrew took the lead and i made the pass for 2nd. I pushed to close the gap andrew had. I caught up and was working hard to find a way to get by. I studied his lines and made the move with two laps to go between turn 5 and 6. I knew i had to get really close next to him so i wouldnt blow my drive out of turn 6. I made the pass and he responded down the back straight going into turn 14. I knew his breaking marker so when he passed me down the straight i knew i could get him into 14 because i was close enough. I stayed on it and made the pass back on him coming into tun 14 around the out side. It was so crazy going into 14 two wide fighting for position. I put the lap last lap together in the lead i had a little mess up in the top of 5. I came onto the front straight in first but by the time i got to the line andrew got me by .4 seconds. Ending the race at a 1:48 was not a bad finish. .
Last race was 600 production without changing tires from FP, i went out and won leading from start to finish at a comfortable speed. .
Big thanks to sage, @wcampbell194 @sweetpete23m for coming out on fathersday to help me race. Taking 2 first and a second against the 1000 was a solid weekend forsure. Also a bug thanks to @ms_keerati for coming to my race and supporting me.
