The Word of God tell us this as well. The trials in our lives make way for patience, strength, and spiritual growth. Every situation and circumstance is an opportunity to learn, and though we may not see the lesson immediately, we soon come to understand why those mountains had to be climbed.
Think of it this way...when you overcome the tests of experience, you essentially obtain a “cheat sheet” for similar future tests 🙌🏻 #naomijudd
“We are lying face to face, wrapped in each others arms in the shade of a large oak tree. Your face is so close to mine that I feel your breath on my lips and all I can see is your eyes.
The small of my back is slightly exposed to the cool air and your fingertips are brushing gentle circles on my skin.
I could stay like this forever.
There is something so hypnotic about being in such close proximity to you. Something divine I just want to drink in until it fills my lungs completely…
I don’t ever want to come up for air again.
I want so much to drown in you.
I want this to be the last thing I ever remember.
Voices stir me from my dream state.
People are approaching, walking nearby. I cannot see them but from their voices I can tell it is two men coming from the direction of the lake.
Neither of us move. We stare into one-another’s eyes, but my conciousness has been awoken and it is slowly focusing on my exposed back - a small thing - but I am a very reserved sort of person.
But I do not move. I am safe here with you and so I lie contentedly still.
But then suddenly - without a word or a gesture. Without even so much as a blink… your hand moves, ever so slightly and pulls my jumper down, covering that tiny section of exposed skin.
My mouth opens a little in surprise. It is one of those moments where you just seem to ‘know’ me somehow. You read me, you understand me, you feel what I feel…
I do not know how you have sensed my discomfort when I was only vaguely aware of it myself. It could only have been from the most minute of movements, a twitch of a muscle or the shallowness of a single breath. Something you intuitively felt rather than saw.
But you knew. Somehow you knew.
Like you always know with me.
My expression changes and I whisper to you with a quiet smile of wonderment "…. You’re covering my modesty". You blink affirmatively at me.
I touch your face and I think “I love that you know me so well”……” - Ranata Suzuki (@ranata_suzuki ) | Recollections III

B L A C K - W R I T E R S - U N I T E 🌑🌑 Thanks to a real one @razadoti , I was blessed to meet up and pick up some very important writing jewels yesterday evening from The Chi (Showtime), The Newsroom (HBO) Writer, now author Cinque Henderson, while enjoying a glass of wine and spicy sweet potato soup. 💁🏾♀️. If you haven’t already copped his advanced copy book for $15 ( see my Insta story), please do so on Amazon: “ Sit Down and Shut Up: How Discipline Can Set Students Free “ ✉️ I just ordered mine 🙏🏾 - - While You’re at it, reward yourself with his very insightful piece on Mother Aretha Franklin ( R.I.P.) for the #NewYorkTimes 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 Some Jewels I Learned, For My Sister Writers, Paraphrased Into My Writing Voice:
1. When applying to Literary agents, ALWAYS Put Your Best Work Forward. Don’t rush to submit garbage.
2. Follow the writing Blogs, and expert advice but most importantly always Follow your Gut. The secret messages meant for you are always the messages meant for you.
3. Do the writing and focus on the craft and accolades will come if/ when they come. After all, one the greatest American poets worked at the Post Office while he wrote some his great works.
4. We artists when connected sometimes suffer from OVER- Inspiration. We may want to write or create several projects at a time. However, it’s in our best interest to Focus, and choose the one with highest possible creative and professional outcome. Finish ONE project and take up the other. ( I Did Find a Solution for this problem. I’ll discuss this on my Blog) ( ✍🏽 Stay Tuned)
On that blog I’ll also write a review for the book once I have read it.
I love you all. Goodnight :)
