Sometimes you just need to add a little something to a quilt design – maybe it’s a name, or a date, a short sentiment or an entire quote. The best thing with quilting is that you can add text to your quilts with a variety of techniques. For our gallery this issue, we wanted to explore how text can be used in quilts. Purchase Issue 25 via the link in our profile to read the article, "Fontastic! Using Text in Quilts" by Kristy Lea @quietplay . You can also see some of the work by @happysewlucky, like this gorgeous piece.

I’ve been drinking London Fogs on constant repeat this week. ☕️ And I’m delighted every time I set one down on one of these new Christmas coasters! I talked about both on the last podcast episode, BTW. The kids are starting to come home from college and I’m so excited for this holiday season! ❤️🎄❤️
⭐️GIVEAWAY⭐️ I started free motion quilting on my regular sewing machine about 10 years ago and I have loved being able to do machine quilting myself. When I joined Instagram a couple years ago, it opened my eyes to all the quilting possibilities out there. I’ve been wanting to get better at ruler work and found @sillymoonquiltingco, a small Canadian 🇨🇦 company that makes some pretty cool rulers. I ordered several and they sent me an extra Edgie 10 ruler to give away to one of you! 🎉 The Edgie 10 is 10” long and has lots of etched lines to help guide your designs. It’s perfect for someone wanting to try out quilting with a ruler! Not sure how these rulers are used? Go check out my Instagram stories—I have a little demo on there. 😊
To enter to win the Edgie 10 ruler:
1. Like this post
2. Follow me and @sillymoonquiltingco
3. Let me know what your favorite part(s) of the quilting process are (my favorite parts are designing a new pattern and machine quilting).
For extra entries tag some friends—one tag per comment please.
I’ll pick a winner Monday morning. Good luck!🍀
Look at this #quilt it’s all hand sewn. Beautiful. 😍 My husband and I are enjoying an early get away for our wedding anniversary (10 years!! Where has the time gone!?!) It’s also our old university Christmas lunch so we’ll be seeing a lot of the friends who we met as we met. Doing my best to pace this weekend out as my #ehlersdanlossyndrome is not to happy with the cold weather, traveling and general business of this time of year. It’s a hard balance to get right. Send spoons!! #spoonie#potssyndrome
I Made it through a craft fair and now I finally get to work on this t-shirt quilt today.
My husband thinks I can't handle all the Bigham vibes coming from these cute clothes (I graduated from West Jordan, he graduated from Bingham. We were rivals over 20 years ago) He's gonna be crackin' jokes all day about it... I still know which school is better. Haha, no offense to all you Bighamites. #SewBeyondBeautiful
Cut, sort, sew, progress!

Insta has inspired me to make my first ever quilt to give as a Secret Santa gift for somebody who describes herself as a "Zelda fan obsessed with blankets!" She's really gonna like this I think!
