I'm tell you now that its natural urge to want to go out and do things. It is not pleasant to not wake up with a purpose. If anything its one of the worst pains I've gone through.~Ray aka Sunshine ☀️ #tumblr#chronicallyill#pain#purpose#disability
There’s this quote I came across from Bob Goff about embracing change. He says, “Some of the most beautiful chapters in our lives, don’t have titles until much later”. This is so true!
I used to be a very rigid person as a teenager and in my early adult years. If A’s the answer then it can never be ‘B’. I felt like it gave me a feeling of standing my ground in a battlefield but where no one was actually fighting (which I realised much later).
Then one day, I met this man who said, if I wanted to succeed in life I have to be flexible. All I want is to succeed so I started making changes. It was so difficult to calm that inner voice.
Then, I went through a heartbreak of something that was supposed to be constant and forever. I became depressed and it felt like the end for me. But as I started to rebuild my strength, it taught me that nothing is permanent. Change is inevitable. Life evolves. There’s no such thing as forever. And THAT’S OKAY, life still goes on.
How I did it? I learned and practised to calm that inner voice down when it starts being negative and I put my emotions aside. The human brain is so powerful when we learn to own it.
Now, I love change and I embrace it. I don’t expect things to be the same. I don’t say No to things that can be an opportunity and I’ll try anything once. Being rigid created a barrier between me and all the beautiful experiences in life!
A few snapshots of a spontaneous journey of external and internal discovery. The rat race of working, studying and the variety of obstacles life will throw at you can leave you burnt out, wondering about your purpose and who you really are. At the end/beginning of 2017/18, the day after completing my final exams, I decided on a whim to travel Europe the following day, solo, with no plans, no bookings, no set destination, but the desire to explore, learn and grow. I will be sharing a few of the highlights, challenges, learning experiences, history and videos from each country explored.
Any suggestions for things you'd like to hear/see please let me know. You might be able to guess which countries a few of these photos come from!

THE DAY WE PLANT THE SEED IS NOT THE DAY WE EAT THE FRUIT.
We live in a time where everything has to be achieved immediately. Loosing five pounds over night, feeling fulfilled after reading a happiness guide, finding answers to big questions after sitting five minutes without any distractions and so on. All we have in mind is our current deficiencies and the goals we want to achieve. And then we start to dream and wish and yes maybe we take actions but most of the times we forget to take small steps and appreciate the progress as much as we would appreciate achieving the goal. So as we’re trying to achieve the goal within the shortest time with the smallest effort we oversee the small things we have to change, deconstruct and heal in order to truly achieve the goal. And that’s why we often find ourselves disappointed, angry and sad because we failed again to achieve our goal.
Be patient. Be clear about your goal. Is it truly your goal? And if so, what does your body, mind and soul need to reach it? Appreciate your process and journey. It can be as powerful, fulfilling and beautiful as the growing of a plant. It’s not all about the fruit, it’s about the growing and the magic of change.
It's the sunlight of early morning filtered through palm fronds.
It's sweating on an inflateable swan in the midday heat.
It's barefoot walks on hard baked ground.
It's the gentle crashing of waves nearby.
It's exotic greenery and intensely blue skies.
It's sunsets that make you stop.
It's everything you've been working for.
It's forgetting winter exists.
It's dreams made real.
It's the only thing keeping you from going crazy as you grind.
It's got to be this way and no other.
It's palm trees or death. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 🌴
I truly believe that God - whoever that may be to you gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers. I believe that there is a purpose to all pain and that through difficult times, it shows us how to grow.
In everything I've felt and in all I've experienced, although it hasn't been easy, it has given me the tools required to be able to help the people who may not have the foresight to see around the corner of hurt. To understand that it is always by the way of pain one can arrive at pleasure is a valuable lesson that I am thankful for.
So beautiful people, if you are reading this and you are struggling please know it's ok hurt. Sometimes its necessary for you to bleed so you can then heal and let go of what makes your heart heavy.
Now when I feel myself getting lost in the pain of life I remind myself that I am one of God soldiers and that my pain may one day be someone else's cure and it makes it all worth it.
I have learnt to appreciate my pain and be thankful for the opportunity to grow even if its hard to see in the middle of the storm. When I see crisis I do my best to remind myself that it's a path to growth and betterment and that it's a necessary part of becoming the best version of myself.
And in the midst of the angst try your best to stay in the present moment. The practise of staying the present will heal you. Obsessing how the future will turn out creates anxiety. Replaying broken parts from your past will only create sadness and anger. Just stay here in this moment.
And then when it's all said and done you can look back and understand that the trails were necessary in the personal growth required to become the best version of yourself.
Much love and positive vibes to you all ❤🙏
