Let’s talk about cardio!
I get so many questions daily about what’s my cardio routine or what’s ideal!
I’ll be talking about me and what’s been working for me! I emphasize again that everyone’s body is different and you gotta find what works for you and gives you results! .
💥How much cardio? It all depends what I’m trying to achieve and where my body is at ! So first thing first, don’t follow other people’s numbers and cardio routines. For me I try to lower my cardio during off-season but I never stop doing it. It’s good to train different energy systems in your body. My last prep I started at 2x20 minuets session daily/7xweek and increased to 2x40 minuets session daily/7xweek. For me that was lots of cardio but I had to lose so much weight and doing that amount of cardio got me where I wanted to achieve for my stage look🙏🏼
💥What type of cardio? I mostly rather to do steady state cardio on stair master/ elliptical/ incline treadmill walk, during competition prep and I switch it up if I feel exhausted only doing stair master for example. I have thicker legs too but I never run or I don’t believe running is gonna make a difference losing body fat off your legs. In my opinion that all goes into nutrition and losing enough amount of body fat to get stage ready! At the end of the day it only matters that u lost the weight. During off-season any cardio is good cardio but depending what your goals are. If you’re gaining muscle don’t focus too much on cardio and save the energy for your heavy lifts. .
💥 Fasted Cardio or non-fasted cardio?
I don’t believe it makes a big difference, I’d rather split my cardio in 2 sessions a day during prep but doesn’t matter what time of day as long as I have a good energy and I burn the amount that I’m aiming for. If I have the time I do fasted but if not I would do in the morning and after my workout.
