This week I decided to implement a weekly fast into my spiritual routine and it was a great experience. If we’re being honest I didn’t know if I could survive the whole day w/out food but 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Have you guys fasted before? What was your experience?
_____My FITNESS TRAINER 🏋🏾♀️ said for a FLATTER TUMMY I needed to drink water! At least 1/2 your body weight in ounces EVERYDAY!
Just plain water can be sooo boring...Try Infused water instead. 💧🍊🍉🥒🥝 1. Wash the fruits, veggies or herbs you choose to use.
2. Slice/cube the produce. Peeling is optional.
3. Add the produce to a pitcher and add water.
4. Let the water sit in the fridge for a few hours or overnight to infuse.

Life is so interesting.
Peggy McColl was one of my first mentors when I entered the new vertical of personal development.
I knew how to run a business in the corporate world.
And I knew how to inspire others through my books + work.
But what I wasn’t super clear on was how to make a business out of my inspirational material + books.
The first thing that attracted to me Peggy McColl was how she described her journey to become a NY Times Best-Selling Author.
She didn’t wait for anyone to come to her, she commanded the attention through her strategic, brilliant work.
She was the first person to teach me how to create a clear platform, how to effectively position yourself and how create a lucrative business doing exactly what you love.
As my work grew, so did our relationship.
Our conversations developed from mentor/mentoree to peers.
When Peggy said she wanted to share a few words about my work, I was honored.
But reading this had me shifting, yet again, into a new space to receive.
It’s ALL possible.
Thank you Peggy for these amazing words- I learned from the best. ❤️ “Kate Butler is one of the most authentic, honest, enthusiastic people I have had the pleasure of meeting. She has a genuine desire to help others create success in their lives and she is amazing at inspiring others to find their passion and live it. Everything she does, from her books, to her events, to her coaching, is done with class and finesse. Kate is one of those rare people who truly walks the talk. Listen to her. Follow her. Invest in everything she offers. I highly recommend her.” #authenticauthor#publishedauthor#abundantlife
In eighth grade an English teacher dared me to read something non-fiction for a change. I flipped open a National Geographic in defiance because, you know, it's basically all pictures. I thought I would need the pictures; I thought non-fiction was boring.
I flipped right to a spread on Kapadokya, and the moment I saw those photographs something shifted. I read the interviews, poured over the history and realized that just like books, stories lived inside of other people. Unlike books, these stories didn't really have endings; they became legacies. I realized I could journey to these people, walk the landscapes their battles were fought on and ask them for their stories. Over the years I learned that people are eager to share their experiences, and they would tell me in words, songs, with joy and sometimes with tears.
That moment, holding an old copy of Nat Geo, was the definitive moment I decided to prioritize living through experiences rather than inside the bindings of pages.
So today brought everything full circle.
I'd love to tell you a story about it.

"I met other students who were from different countries, some of whom were also refugees. It was fun learning about them, their cultures, and countries. There were quite a few Yugoslavian kids with whom I made friends, is the only thing at that stage we had in common was our language. With other students, I communicated with body language, drawings, and some words I knew. Oh my, did we have some laughs in the classroom. Half of the time we had no idea what any of us were saying!" - Extract from my book, "Born To Bloom - From Hardship To Happiness"
