One foot, one foot, one foot in front of the other 🎶 I’ve been feeling kind of stagnant in my healing 👎🏼 but I also haven’t been pushing overly hard since I need my knees to walk to school every day. But it’s time for a little push, because I’m so bored of being stationary and not spinning, hiking, lifting, biking, running, and doing yoga. So here’s to me trying to get back on the fitness train this week 🎉and hoping my knee will cooperate 🤞🏼
Well it is #friday but normally alcohol isn't our thing... Strictly 🌿
This juicy sauvignon blanc is delicious and 💯 vegan 🌱 @proudlyveganwines to be honest I've never really thought to much about vegan alcohol till only recently which is terrible really when I've been vegan for 3 years solid with no cheats 😊😉🙃 from transiting from 2 years prior of being a vegetarian... One word! 🧀 Anyways, the amount of animal products in alcohol is insane BTW... Do more research folks for example : Wine is clarified, or cleared, after fermentation. Some of the ingredients used include:
- edible gelatins (made from bones)
- isinglass (made from the swim bladders of fish)
- casein and potassium caseinate (milk proteins)
- animal albumin (egg albumin and dried blood powder)
Had a pretty good week this week ☺️🎉 Learning lots in school & slooooowly getting back to the gym 🙌🏽 (& hopefully soon to spin!!) The snow this week in Calgary actually made me SO excited to get back into winter hiking ☺️🌨☃️ I can’t believe I haven’t hiked since July...it’s eating me alive 😂 but winter is coming fast which means I’ll hopefully be back hiking away soon 🤞🏼🏔🏔❤️
Did anyone else feel like this week was SO long?? (Probably in part because I woke up on Monday thinking it was Sunday 🤦🏼♀️😂) Although it felt long, this week was definitely fun 😊 I’m learning to establish and keep a solid life-work balance and not let work stress weigh me down. It’s a work-in-progress, but that’s my goal, and I think that’ll mean more jam-packed weeks to come 😊🙌🏽🎉 Hopefully you all had a fabulous week 💕 Happy Friday! The stories are incredible;one in particular made it into a movie which premiered in Portugal last night. Sadly I missed it but hopefully by next year it will be on Netflix! My every day to see the beauty in what and who is around me and to be grateful for where I live, among many other things. Ho letto con molto dispiacere ciò che è successo in provincia di Ancona a Giulia, ragazzina tredicenne pesantemente bullizzata dai compagni di scuola perché vegana e non difesa dai professori (anzi...). Questo tremendo episodio mi ha riportato alla mente il bambino inglese spinto al suicidio dai propri compagni, proprio per gli stessi motivi. Per cui aderisco alla campagna #siamoveganicomegiulia e mando la mia solidarietà a lei e a tutta la sua famiglia ❤️ (se volete saperne di più sull'accaduto andate sul sito vegolosi.it, dove hanno ricostruito e raccontato tutto l'accaduto) .
#homemade salt and pepper chips - Chinese takeaway style.. on Fridays in #Liverpool I love salt and pepper chips from our #local#chippie but this is a fantastic kitchen alternative and #easy
The chips were fluffy potato goodness with that lazy skin-on style, the onions are sexily caramelised and the plate is of course #proudlyvegan
Decent chips took 8 mins of parboiling and 40 mins in the oven. I ran out of five spices so went for a small pinch of clone and a good helping of 1:2:1 cinnamon:ginger:nutmeg, one onion, 4 mini red chilli peppers and plenty of fresh sea salt and black pepper. Indulgent, sweet, but not sour. 😍

Tonight @thana4yyc and I attended @thealicesanctuary’s fundraising event where we had an absolutely delicious dinner 🤤🌱👌🏽, listened to some live music, & met some of the residents at the sanctuary!! It was my first time ever going to a sanctuary and, believe it or not, seeing pigs this big in real life!! 😍🐖💚 And I absolutely loved them 🐷☺️💕 All of the animals were so sweet and were simply happy, just how all animals should be ❤️ Swipe to see photos of a bunch of the residents and a video at the end 😍 Aren’t they the cutest?! ☺️
Please look at him/her. This is a baby crying out for his/her mother. This is what the diary industry does. Moments after birth mothers are separated from their babies so we, humans, can self righteously steal their mother's breastmilk and consume it for ourselves. They will never be reunited again. Mothers will cry out for days after searching for their babies. Please watch diary is scary on YouTube for a better understanding of this horrible industry. Mothers are impregnated (raped) so that they can produce milk all year long. If you are a mother imagine being pumped on both breasts for that long. Imagine that pain. Their pain is also the same. This isn't natural. They are pumped around the clock in confined spaces, unable to move at all. When they eventually collapse from exhaustion and are unable to produce milk they are sent to the slaughterhouse. The males are sent for slaughter within a few weeks of birth (veal) and the females will become milking slaves like their mothers before them. There is nothing kind about the diary industry. It's just another way we humans are exploiting animals. And for what? For breastmilk we DON'T need. No adult person needs to consume breastmilk anymore, let alone the breastmilk of another species.
Leave mothers and their babies alone. Let them be, and let them live. They have done nothing to deserve this.
