Look, I like The Clash. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But I like Eddy Grant more.
So the next cat that tries to tell me that The Clash did this tune first, I'm gonna come to your house while you're asleep and take a shit in your mouth.
This is No. 7 in the 45 series.

I’m not religious- but if you are, please send some prayers to whatever god you believe in for this boy’s family. And if you aren’t, send love and light. His name was Antwon Rose✊🏼 Send prayers to his family, and to all the rest of us here in Pittsburgh. This should never have happened, NO. MATTER. WHAT. •
I am a young, white, middle class American citizen, with white, blonde haired children. I was raised in a family of police officers, I am married to a former police officer. I do NOT know what it is like to fear for my LIFE at a traffic stop, or to worry that when my teenagers leave the house they might not come home to me, simply because they aren’t the “right” color. I am a young, white, American female and because of THAT PRIVILEGE I am in a unique position to stand up for what is right here. THIS. SHOULD. NEVER. HAVE. HAPPENED. •
Please do not leave hateful comments on this post, regardless of if you agree with me✊🏼 This is a teenage boy we are talking about, who’s mother will never get to hug him again, never look into his eyes or tell him she loves him. This is you. This is me. This is US. What kind of world are we creating for our children? We are not worthy. Not like this. We must work, all of us, to make this word worthy of its children.
Today (June 22nd, 2018) is Trans Day of Action, an annual day organized by The Audre Lorde Project in New York City to demand safe access in public and private spaces for trans and gender nonconforming folks and to honor all the victories made in the trans movement over the last year. The NYC event is happening today, 4pm-7pm at Christopher Street Pier (Pier 45 on Manhattan’s West Side). .
This march is a reminder that there is still so much work to be done for justice and equality for the LGBTQ community. It’s the perfect way to celebrate Pride month (as Pride was founded as a commemoration of a police riot) and it fights for trans and gender nonconforming folks while they’re still here. Many issues that affect trans and gender nonconforming folks are addressed at the rally each year.

TOMORROW: We join @audrelordeproject and @womensmarchnyc for #TransDayOfAction . We must turn out to defend ALL immigrants seeking asylum and a better life. We must take action to defend ALL our trans sisters, brothers, and siblings.
Join us in NYC at 4pm at the Christopher St. Pier.

Vergüenza! No es abuso, es violación. Gritan las calles de #Madrid . Los colectivos feministas vuelven a tomar las calles durante los días 21 y 22 de junio contra la puesta en libertad de La Manada.

Juliet Burke, 3, of New London, attending with her father James, not pictured, hops down the walkway to the GA10 courthouse as a group of local activists gather to protest Trump administration immigration policies in New London Thursday, June 21, 2018. The protest was organized by former city mayor Daryl Finizio and included state representative Christine Conley. (Sean D. My mom reused our school posters to demonstrate with the Franciscan nuns at the courthouse yesterday. I feel so grateful to have been raised to speak out about what is wrong in this world, even in a community where people can be pretty openly racist. Was I a little afraid a truck would run us over yesterday? Yep. But I was also so humbled to stand next to nuns who have dedicated their lives to peace, protesting from Palestine to D.C., and even getting arrested for sitting in politicians’ offices. One driver was yelling at us that we should have been out protesting when Obama was in office (and I’m 100% sure the nuns were out protesting the wars we were in during that time). Sister walked through traffic to go talk to him, and while I’m not sure what she said to him, she came back smiling saying, “I know that man!” #familiesbelongtogether#protest#franciscans#nuns#sisters#peace#demonstration#activism
One common question is "if you don't have anything to hide, why do you need privacy?" The answer is simple. We do have things to hide, however they are things like technology that we don't want stolen, or feminine hygiene products due to embarrassment and taboo. Especially with how much stealing goes on in schools, this will make theft normal

#protest#gas#pijplijn#isreal#rtlnieuws
It’s a new day and we continue to protest and lend our support to end family separation. Please join us on Saturday, June 30th at 4pm in the West Village (St. John’s Lutheran Church, 81 Christopher Street NYC) for our season finale concert: Jazz for Juniors. Proceeds from this concert will go to organizations who are advocating for immigrant rights in providing legal and social service support to refugee children and their families. The executive order which was signed yesterday only partially undoes the cruel policy this administration has implemented. Immigrant families are still being imprisoned and remain separated, and there is no plan to reunite the hundreds of children who are now stranded in NYC with their families. Let us come together and make some changes through music 🙏🏼 To Join Us in Music to Help These Families: www.mozartformunchkins.com
