HaloTop isn't the only ice cream slinger in protein town. Texas-based @proteinpaletas asked me to try their post-workout protein-infused ice creams from @thecombinesc box in Austin, so I swung by after #legday. It was HOT so these frozen chocolate and strawberry treats were perfect. 🍦🍧🍨🍦🍧🍨🍦🍧🍨🍦🍧🍨
THE MACROS (Chocolate & Strawberry flavor)-
CALORIES 130-150
PROTEIN 14-18g
FAT 0-4.5g
CARBS 10-17g.

and, sugars are in the 5-13g range.

These had a nice, light taste. My friend's strawberry paleta tasted just like it should: cold strawberries. Knowing there was protein inside, she thought it would be chalky and was happy it wasn't. My chocolate one was also nice and tasted like a #fudgsicle without syrups or fake sugars. 
For the amount of calories, sugar, and protein in each, these are a really nice post-workout treat if you've got a sweet tooth or if it's hot (basically every day between April 15 and October 1 in Austin). I REALLY like that they are a significant source of protein, and the Key Lime flavor had like 21g of protein.

THE VERDICT 👩‍⚖️: A-

Aside from the sugars and some binding gums, these are a pretty clean and satisfying choice for a post-workout treat. They're at a lot of CrossFit gyms in North and Central Texas but check out proteinpaletas.com to see where you can get 'em. -Diane

These beautiful little moist are fudgy brownies are packed full of goodness. My goal was to make them LOADED with protein & fibre, taste delicious & ofcourse be super healthy...and that's exactly what they are!.

Basic ingredients are: kidney beans, butter beans, chocolate whey protein & chocolate vegan protein, cacao,espresso, dates & honey, coconut oil, egg. Topped with sugar free dark chocolate, honey roasted quinoa & mixed nuts.

Oh, and it’s super easy to make! I personally like to put mine in the fridge for a bit. I even had my skeptical hubby taste test it!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup chickpeas (uncooked with skin removed)
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 2 tbsp agave or honey
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
Blend and enjoy!! Eat it all up without the guilt because it’s full of fiber and protein!

Apple and cinnamom protein breakfast muffins 🍏

Can't believe we are in Autumn 🍁 thought Id make some muffins to reflect the season. If your feeling naughty you could add some toffee pieces and turn them into toffee apple muffins 🎃 
Macros: 94cal 9.4g protein ,10.2g carbs, 1.4g fat 
100g of oats
2 scoops protein powder
1 apple diced 
2 egg whites
70g greek yoghurt 
Table spoon 9kcal Maple syrup
2tsp cinnamon
1tsp baking powder
1tsp vanilla extract

Add in toffee pieces if your feeling naughty or you could add some raisins 
1. Preheat oven to 160° 
2. Place oats, pritein powder, cinnamon and baking powder in a mixing bowl and mix together.
3. Place egg whites, greek yoghurt in another bowl and whisk together. I used a hand held mixer
4. Mix the 2 bowls together adding in your maple syrup, vanilla extract and apple
5.spread between 8 cupcake cases
6.bake for 15-20 minuets or untill going golden brown

WET:
3 eggs (2 whole eggs, 1 egg white)•
4 bananas (3 bananas mixed in & 1 folded in at the end)•
1/3 cup peanut butter•
1 tspn vanilla essence•
2 tblsn honey•
Coconut oil 1/3 cup•

DRY:
100g Oats (grind to make own flour)•
4 tbsp macadamia nut flour recommended (but any other nut flour will be fine too)•
2 scoops flavourless raw whey protein recommended (but any vanilla whey would be fine)•
1 scoop pea protein•
*side note -1 scoop is 32g*•
1 1/2 tspn Cinnamon•
1 tspn Bicarb•
Pinch of salt•

Yields: 12 medium muffins•
Prep time: 5-10 minutes•
Oven time: 20 minutes•
Total time: 30mins•
Pre heat oven: 180° •

First up: Switch on the oven & set aside a muffin tray with cupcake paper liners.

Now let's get started: Mix all wet ingredients adding coconut oil last, make sure to pour in coconut oil slowly while mixing. .
Next up: In a separate bowl mix all dry ingredients together.

Almost there: Pour wet ingredients into dry and gently mix until well combined then gently add chopped up banana into the mix.

Home stretch: Pour mixture into muffin tray, place into the oven and patiently wait...

I was recently invited on a scallop-hunting trip in Florida where you snorkel in the shallow ocean beds to spot scallops then dive down to pick them up (kinda like an adult Easter egg hunt). -
After 2 laborious days of searching and diving, the trip ended in an iron-chef style feast, where everyone cooks up their own scallops a unique way. To honor the tradition of my teammate’s previous year win, we made bacon-wrapped scallops—and they were insanely good. -
Fast-forward to a week later and I’m once again faced with heating up some batch-cooked chicken breast with zero enthusiasm, I was reminded of that memorable feast...and BOOM, the idea to put some bacon around my tired old chicken was born. -
Like any Fighter Diet pro, I always have some Pauline-approved turkey bacon in the fridge. They are very easy to microwave, and just like that, I upgraded my boring chicken breasts to a sensational meal. Moral of the story: eating the same healthy things does get boring after a while; so try to remember the most recent non-boring thing you ate and try to incorporate elements of that into your healthy dish. -
We all eat the same 20 foods over and over again...but it just takes a little bit of rethinking to come up with new combinations...like those fashion blogs that use 5 articles of clothing to make 20 outfits. What will you come up with?

20g flax seed
2 scoops vanilla whey protein powder
1 large banana
Tbsp 0 cal maple syrup or honey
1tsp vanilla essence

3.in a pan mix and melt your peanut butter and maple syrup/ honey
4.Mash the banana and add this to the dry ingredients along with the vanilla essencd and melted peanut butter. 
5.Mix together 
6.Place mixture into a baking tray and place in the oven for around 18 minutes or untill going golden brown

I topped mine with grenade chocolate spread. You could also add fruit or nuts into the mixture or some chocolate chips

PUMPKIN PIE PROTEIN SMOOTHIE
Ingredients:
• 1 cup pumpkin puree
• 1 ripe banana, frozen is best
• 1 cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk
• 1 scoop @nowfoodsofficial vanilla whey
• 1 tablespoon raw honey
• ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
• 1¼ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
• pinch of ginger
• 5-6 ice cubes

Instructions
1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. (Add more milk if too thick). Pour into 2 glasses. Enjoy!

Post leg workout treat! I was craving chocolate but didn’t want something too crazy. I love halo top because it’s not very heavy but I love chunks in my ice cream I’m not a plain ice cream person I always add something to it that’s calorie friendly I found these little protein bites at Walmart. I added 4 bites Only 7 carbs, 10 Fat, 5 Protein. No sugar added! Made with 100% coconut oil, peanut butter, and real chocolate.  Super yummy and hit the spot. Macro Tip: when you know you want to indulge in something instead of binge eating or not tracking it I always enter it in as if I’ve already eaten it and then I eat around that all day so when the time comes to eat that meal I’ll either be able to eat it and fit in my macros or realize that’s not what I want and have something else. Either way it’s a win-win you stay within your macro goals and no damage is done.

Got a pack of "Lamb's Lettuce" known as "Corn Salad" -Green leaves  with a very particular scrumptious taste- topped some leaves with 4 sliced and Grilled zucchinis (on the seb with Maldon salt), 1 bowl of boiled chickpeas, 2 slices radishes, 1 tsp of sumac and 2 tbsp of tarator (tehini diluted in water and lemon juice).
This salad is a #proteintreat and is loaded in #fibre... It will help you feel full for a longer period of time ! .

• 2 tbs Peanut Butter, or nut butter of choice
• 1/4 Banana, sliced
• Mini Chocolate chips, @lilys_sweets_chocolate
• Lil drizzle of raw honey (optional)

Just whipped up this awesome protein chocolate chip banana bread! I love adding @nowfoodsofficial protein powder not only for texture but to get in some extra protein so that this snack can really stabilize blood sugar & also be a healthy treat too. Who else likes baking with protein powder? Here’s what I did:
PROTEIN CHOCOLATE CHIP BANANA BREAD
Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup pumpkin puree (or a cooked sweet potato would work)
• 1/2 cup vanilla @nowfoodsofficial whey protein powder
• 1 cup egg whites
• 2 bananas (1 banana is chopped up in little pieces for at the end)
• 1/2 cup coconut flour
• 1/2 cup rolled oats
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
Directions:
1. Blend everything together except the additional banana and chocolate chips. Next slowly stir in the second banana (chopped) and chocolate chips. Pour in a bread loaf pan coated with cooking spray.
2. Bake in a bread loaf tin at 320 F for about 40 minutes. To find out when your bread is ready, enter a toothpick and when it comes out clean, it’s done! Remember you can add other things too such as walnuts, etc. Enjoy!
