My eating disorder started with a diet. This alone didn’t cause my eating disorder but it set up the breeding ground for it to begin.
Diet culture also taught me from a young age that my value was found in my appearance, and more specifically in the size of my body.
It taught me to believe that certain types of food were ‘bad’ (lies! No food is good or bad)🙅🏼♀️
I got this ‘backdrop cinemabox’ from Nordstrom Rack and this is the first message I created 😂
Raise your hand if you think that diet culture sucks 🙋🏼♀️

P.s I recently went to Hawaii and out of all the sunset pictures I managed to snag, the rays of sunshine peeping from within the clouds makes this my absolute fav.

Made an oldie but a goodie tonight - Shepard’s Pie!
My dad grew up in Ireland and Scotland so this was a staple comfort food in our home growing up.
If you didn’t know, Shepard’s Pie is a mixture of seasoning, ground mince (I use beef), carrots and peas and topped with mashed potatoes.
I decided since my mom had some seasoning sent over to us that I would make a different version!
I sliced white potatoes thin and spread some on the bottom of the dish, then sauteed beef, green beans, kale, peppers and onions and added the pre mixed Colman’s seasoning packet. Then, I layered this on top of the sliced potatoes and added the rest to the top. Sprayed it with olive oil spray, and added salt, pepper and paprika.
I baked it in the oven at 450 degrees for 30 minutes, adding shredded cheese for the last five minutes.
So delicious and simple! Here is a recipe for seasoning in case you can’t find any where you are: http://mixitupcookbook.blogspot.com/2011/05/shepherds-pie-seasoning-mix.html?m=1
It was fun to mix up some traditional and try it a new way. Do you ever do this with your family’s traditional meals? 💓
Today’s #tiptuesday is a goal setting tip! You are 42% more likely to accomplish a goal if you write it down. Take a few minutes to journal and write down answers to the following questions: 💎
What do I want to accomplish in the next 10 years?
What legacy do I want to leave?
What is missing for me in my life? How can I bring more of this into my life?
If I could do anything this next year, what would I do?
If I could show up and be anything, who would I be?
I want xxxx in my life.
Get to dreaming and start goal setting!
