A series of illustrations done by our brilliant pal Mirayan McElroy of Lady Mary Designs. Much of her work focuses on women and the female form, though she's currently experimenting with colour and Australian natives. Keep an eye on her @ladymarydesigns 🌠
For those of you who have been following me, you probably already know who I am and what I do. So for today, I wanted to share some fun, unique facts about me that makes me the business owner that I am today... ⠀
1. I enjoy knitting. I'm self taught thanks to #YouTube and #Walmart 's handing laminated knitting guide. ;) Baby hat's are my specialty. ⠀
2. I always wanted to be a house architect. I would draw up floor-plans for fun and my sister would take my layouts and hand illustrate 2D renderings of the rooms with furniture etc.
3. I have a double minor in Advertising and Marketing.
4. I run about 6 miles a week and don't do well when I can't fit a run in. Running is enjoyable, freeing, and so good for me (and you). There's nothing like a new running outfit to get me motivated.
I’d love to get to know you better. What’s one fun fact about you or your history that makes you the business owner you are today? 👇🏻
Did you know that the largest print run to date was the seventh book in the Harry Potter series - “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”? This industry record was broken all the way back in 2007 with 12 million copies printed for the initial run!
And as a bonus fact for you - the book also holds a title in the Guinness Book of Records for the fastest selling fiction book in 24 hours , with WH Smith reportedly selling a whopping 15 books per second!
As I’ve written about before, this spring I took a Scandinavian vacation that reignited me in all senses. While we’ve discussed the bigger picture impact I believe the trip had on me as a creative and business owner, one of those items was the reminder to stay in the moment. And today, I’m taking my own advice.
Instead of glossing over the details of my travels to focus on the impact they had on Marbury, today is all about stopping and taking in the sights. Over on the journal, I'm sharing some of the most interesting and beautiful things and places I saw on my Scandinavian adventures, and if you ever get the chance to explore the region yourself, do your creative side a favor by making space for them in your itinerary.
Have you ever been to Scandinavia, or perhaps even a few of these places? I would love to hear about your own favorite areas in the comments!
A little number which was part of our branding work with Fine & Bone recently. Opening soon in central London, we think a 'work' trip might be in order to see this bad boy in the wild 🇬🇧🙊 #banditdesignoriginals
