We are very sad to hear about the passing of William Goldman, known for being the screen writer of many great films such as “The Princess Bride”, “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”, and “All the President’s Men”. In my house, if you find The Princess Bride on TV, you are required to stop and leave it on. This film is comedic gold, filled with life lessons on courage and perseverance. Goldman’s ability to insert humor in the most perilous time will sincerely be missed by all.
If there was one takeaway I could ask you to pick up from my newsfeed it would be to watch The Princess Bride. The author William Goldman has died in New York and the words he has left behind are worth celebrating. This morning I learnt that he said of the film industry, "nobody knows anything". I love that, it means the doors are wide open. #williamgoldman#theprincessbride#inconceivable#newyork#princessbuttercup
Hit hard in the stomach today by the news of William Goldman's death. The Princess Bride has been one of my favorite movies since I was a kid, and one of my favorite books since I first read it about a decade ago. So, to one of my favorite authors, thank you for everything; I do not envy you the headache you will have when you awake, but in the meantime, rest well and dream of large women.
Little did I know when I shared my Westley outfit yesterday that today I’d be mourning the passing of William Goldman, the author of the Princess Bride. He created what would be my favorite movie and book. It had a huge impact on me and largely shaped who I am as a person. I vividly recall running around the playground, taking turns saying “Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya...” with my friends. I can literally quote the entire film beginning to end. Thank you, Mr Goldman for having such a huge impact on my life. I’m so glad I got to pay homage to your work on the runway last year. .
So sad to hear of the passing of William Goldman. Those of you who know me personally know that the Princess Bride is my favorite movie of all time! I don’t think I would be who I am today without that film shaping my childhood. Thank you for bringing to life a beautiful story and the most perfect movie ever made. #PrincessBride#Buttercup#westley#twuewuv#princessbuttercup#asyouwish
