What’s important to your child right now? Take just 5 minutes to really “be with” your child today and find out, and then let me know in the comments below 😊. Today, my daughter wants me to know that she doesn’t like me working outside of the home, because it takes me away from her.

Axel wanted to watch TV so I asked him to draw me a picture. I said he could draw me some flowers, and he said “I don’t know how!” so I told him to just try his best. He drew the cutest 3-year-old flowers ever! Then he drew a “rainbow spider” that I’m obsessed with! 😍😍😍 #momwin#preschooler#kidart#boymom#adorable
Tomorrow our kids will get an opportunity to get super messy, discover their wildly creative sides, and learn through play!! We are so looking foward to see how this masterpiece unfolds! @kind_academy
I know I’m not the only mama who has “one of those days.” You know the one where your preschooler has pushed every button, even some she’s just discovered that you didn’t know existed. The young toddler is like a little mocking jay, repeating the comments and actions made by the oldest. Your ever growing pregnant belly brings a whole new level of exhaustion. It’s just “one of those days.” Where you swore you’d limit screen time, then you find yourself watching a good hour of kids educational YouTube videos (or Tube You as my almost 4 year old says). You find in the quiet of your mind peace, then the wheels start turning, the doubt sets in. You list all the wrongs you did today, you lost all your failures, all the times you yelled, all the times you looked around your house and thought “why can’t I keep this place clean”; the thoughts keep scrolling. Like a negative reel of the high lights or low lights of your day. In these moments, on these days, it’s so important to think about the peaceful moments, the things you did right, just find one glimmer of positivity; like the way the preschooler hugged you and said please just hold me mommy. Or when the kids actually put the dishes in the sink after lunch. Maybe, maybe on even the hardest days, I’m still doing this mom thing right. #postpartum#pregnancy#toddlerhood#preschooler#motherhood#takebackpostpartum @whentheboughbreaksdoc
You know we love a lion story - they are BookBairn's favourite animal after all and this one is so fun because all the illustrations are crafted by the author using recycled materials! And she has guides on her webpage on how to make your own! Such a fun series. And of course, a lion in space is definitely going to capture your little readers imaginations! And you can make your own. #gifted#bookishplay#beyondthebook#bookcraftandbeyond#bookcraft#bookbasedplay
The start of a new school year is a great time to be really deliberate about what we expose our kids to.
Take a look over your book collection? Are there books that reflect different types of people & their stories? Are you taking a moment to remind them to be kind to the child in their class who doesn’t have lots of friends? It might seem obvious, but can never be said frequently enough. Are you paying attention to what they're watching on TV? Does it send positive messages to your little ones?
Being deliberate about these things takes effort and time in an already busy schedule but is so worth while.
😍The shaping of little minds is in our hands.😍
😱WOW everyone around you when you whip out this rainbow SOAP-SICLE💦! It's so cool and looks pretty enough to eat🌈! Annnd as if that wasn't enough to make you want one, they double up as a rainbow bath crayons🖍️ ! This is DEFINITELY a bath time bribe in our house🤩.. .

Who caught @katiedimond84 blog post about #busybins yesterday?? If you need more inspiration, here's an example of a great #preschooler busy bin that we threw together in MINUTES from toys/activities we had laying around our house!
For fine motor development: 🖍 markers and coloring books 👦🏽 play doh 🌀 painters or washi tape
For speech/language/early literacy: 🅰️ wooden letters with matching cards 🐢 animal head/tail matching puzzles.
Requesting, commenting and problem solving how to manipulate and use all of these items is also part of what makes these bins awesome for speech and language development!! #speechlanguagepathology#speechdevelopment#finemotorskills#milieu#busymom#busydad#playtime#independentplay
Running out of ways to keep your little one occupied while traveling? This word-building #travel hack will be your go-to tool in the car! First thing you’re going to need is a metal container to keep everything in—a tin lunch box would be perfect!⠀
Grab some popsicle sticks and write one word per stick. Two to four letter words are ideal for this game. Use magnetic tape on the back of the sticks so they can be placed on the inside of the lid when chosen. If this game is a hit with your #kiddo , try making a bunch of popsicle sticks in varying categories for more variety! Sandwich-sized zip lock bags can be used to keep the categories separate. ⠀
Last thing you’ll need is a set of magnetic letters. Make sure to get a couple sets for any words with repeating letters. The rules are simple: place a popsicle stick on the inside of the lid, sound out the word, match the magnetic letters with the ones on the stick and put them on the lid in the right order.⠀
This activity is a must-have travel hack that is perfect for toddlers or #preschooler that are easily bored!
