August 13: Micheal Pollan’s Food Rules No. 15: Eat foods made from ingredients that you can picture in their raw state or growing in nature. “This rule will keep all sorts of chemicals and food like substances out of your diet.” I personally love this rule with a couple of exceptions (chemical leaveners like baking soda and powder are okay; pectin and msg both are actually natural products derived from fruits and seaweed but that is being really pedantic) As a chef, I find foods that actually made with food so much better tasting than foods made with chemicals and such. Just compare a Twinkie or a home made cake. Enough said.

This is done very easily with a blender/vitamix or magic bullet
•

Ingredients
• 3-4 cloves of garlic
• 1/4 red onion • 1/2 tsp sea salt
• 1/2 fresh jalapeño • 1 lemon squeezed
• 1 handful fresh cilantro
Blend for 1 min
•

1- lay filets on parchment paper
2- pour fresh marinade over filets 
3- bake at 350 on the top rack for 18 min
4- broil on high for 4-5 min to finish
5- cool
6-portion to desired weight
7- enjoy
