I love #crowpose because it is so reflective of challenges we face every day. It was one of the first arm balances I learned how to do, but it took me a while to be able to get both feet off the ground. I got stronger as I practiced it every day, but more importantly, I learned how much I needed to lean in to get the perfect balance without face planting. As we face our own challenges (whether it’s a yoga pose or something else), we have to remember that in order to be successful, we must practice often and find that balance between giving it your best effort and giving it too much. When we put too much of ourselves into one thing, we forget everything else. Remember to work hard, but don’t ever forget to take care of yourself along the way!

The power of this practice is so strong. Reality is beginning to settle in...over 3 weeks in a new home far, far away from everything and everyone we know & love.  But after time on my mat, moving, breathing, pushing my limits and finding the sweetness my body & mind craves, it's a reminder that we are on the biggest adventure yet. All is beautiful and life is grand, we are so lucky, fortunate & grateful for every moment.

Stumbled into a one-legged funky pincha press last week. Had never tried it. Rarely practice funky pincha and never away from the wall, but for some reason I decided to try.
The amazing thing about the practice is how it can surprise you when you’re not expecting it. Now there’s something new to play with (& figure it out on my non-dominant side!). It’s a good reminder. Of our potential. Of showing up to listen without expecting anything in return, but being given something out of the ordinary. ::::::

Feeling more and more humbled by teaching lately. Yesterday I taught my biggest crowd yet and holy moly it was 3 times bigger than what I am used to. I went to teach and was not expecting this many students to join the fun. 27 people showed up with the intent of practicing yoga and to spend time with friends and to meet new people. This class had beginners and people who also practice regularly. It is such a blessing when people come together and share such a common space because it becomes so much more than just a room...It becomes a place of comfort, community, non-judgement, love and compassion for yourself and others around you! Soooo humbled and so very grateful. 💫✨🌙Namaste 🙏

have you seen any creature
more in flow?
jellyfish can’t actually move on their own.
they have to rely on wind to move them in
different directions.
they are relying solely on Mother Nature to guide them.
they are the symbol of love.
makes sense right?
you can only be in flow
if you drop fear and you drop
fear by connecting to the
vibration of love.
why is this connection so important?
in the presence of love, all insecurities fall away.
judgement, blame, fear, ego, perfectionism, labels, expectations, shame and more.
you can’t be in flow and also be connected to these lower vibrations.
you have to drop attachments to any outcome to be able to let Mother Nature guide you where you’re meant to be.
it’s not easy in the world we live in today.
we judge absolutely every aspect of someone.
this results in us feeling the need to change what aligns with our Spirit to what aligns with societal norms.
do you think a jellyfish judges it’s neighbors for how they’re swimming that day or any day?
no, because they are in flow.
they are connected to spirit.
to Mother Nature.
to their intuition.
they trust that they will be guided to where they’re meant to be on their paths.
regardless of any hardships they do or do not come across.
one is not stronger because he swam faster.

how can you bring more flow into your life?

My pose choice for day 7 is downward facing dog.  Julio decided to join me for this one 🐶. You’ll probably see this pose often in yoga classes because it benefits your whole body. It stretches all the major muscles on the back side of your body and builds strength in your upper and lower body. It’s essentially meant to be a resting posture, but if you’re like me it may take a while before it feels that way!

⭐️ #TriYogaSchool ⭐️ This month we are building up to Side Crow, & our first pose is Revolved Lunge with prayer hands, or Parivrtta Anjaneyasana 🎓 Revolved Lunge strengthens the legs & abdominal muscles. It helps with balance, stamina & digestion, & also improves flexibility in the spine. 🎓
Revolved Lunge with prayer hands Alignment Cues: #omniyogagirltips
1. The front leg is at a right angle, with the thigh parallel to the mat, & the knee stacked over the ankle
2. Tuck the toes of the back foot under, & press through the lifted heel
3. Pull up the kneecap of the back leg & keep the leg engaged
4. Draw the naval in to make room for the twist, & to stabilise the pose
5. Press the palms together in prayer position, & use the left tricep to press against the outer edge of the right knee for a deeper twist
6. Keep the shoulder blades broad & away from the ears
7. Think ‘collarbones wide’ to open the chest
8. The drishti, or gaze, is towards the sky

LOL) I also listen to My Favorite Murder, because sometimes you need something light, like true crime,

This weeks #toetaptuesday is a play with the negative press propped up on a yoga wheel (or up against a bolster). If you can’t lift your feet by pushing into the prop, kick up and work on lowering your legs as slowly as possible to the floor. This demands that your hips move further back over head and shoulders to keep the weight balanced as you come down. You can see this in the video when you swipe left. 
Sometimes easier said than done when upside down. If your thighs burn too much to tap your wrists, come down half way and try to lift back up a few times until you’re ready to tap toes to wrists to build the strength of core, shoulders and thighs to compress into a tight enough shape to complete unsupported... one day.
This weeks #toetaptuesday  is a play with the negative press propped up on a yoga wheel (or up against a bolster). If you can’t lift your feet by pushing into the prop, kick up and work on lowering your legs as slowly as possible to the floor. This demands that your hips move further back over head and shoulders to keep the weight balanced as you come down. You can see this in the video when you swipe left. Sometimes easier said than done when upside down. If your thighs burn too much to tap your wrists, come down half way and try to lift back up a few times until you’re ready to tap toes to wrists to build the strength of core, shoulders and thighs to compress into a tight enough shape to complete unsupported... one day.

Personally I think I have decent sleep and food habits. Very food hygiene and relaxation habits. And a very poor physical health routine. I lack the motivation to do yoga let alone work out...

Some of my favorite yoga poses aren’t very aesthetically appealing to post on Instagram. In a world of crazy flexible yogis sitting on their own heads and daredevils handstanding on cliff ledges, who wants to see a simple seated forward fold in their feed? .
Well, these “simple” “easy” poses are just as important to your yoga practice as the fancy shit. And this fold isn’t easy for everyone! Especially if you’re a runner or have tight hamstrings. .
Forward folds are good counter poses to backbends as they stretch your spine in the opposite direction, and they compress your stomach which stimulates your liver and kidneys and promotes digestion. While backbends are energizing, forward folds are calming, so they are good to do before bedtime to help you relax! .
