Deficit Deadlift: 8x2 @ 455lbs for my last few working sets. Happy with how these moved since I don’t usually pull conventional, let alone from a ~2-3 inch deficit.
So after my post last night I had THREE “😱 no way you were overweight” comments. Now again, I am NOT saying that my weight loss transformation was anything special. It wasn’t. I was just out of college. Clinical depression (was seen by a psychiatrist and diagnosed and medicated, FYI). I re use this photo because frankly: only two photos exist of me this heavy and they both were taken at the same day. Meanwhile it took me that long to realize:
It really isn’t about the scale but how you look and FEEL! This is crucial in any program: you have to be HAPPY with the process or you won’t adhere! Do you enjoy cardio? That’s nice! Eat to support that! Do you like weight lifting? Awesome! Eat to support that! Wanna be strong af? GREAT! EAT TO SUPPORT THAT! Having a balance of good nutrition and a good plan will yield AMAZING results! I 👏can’t 👏 stress 👏 this 👏 E👏NOUGH! As I am still an advocate of carbohydrate rich foods and lifting heavy as possible: I encourage you to find a meal plan and a workout plan that YOU LIKE and you can MAINTAIN. It’s cliche but it’s true! But know this: your body is quite capable of adapting and thriving! The last 2 weeks or so I have been doing The Pebble Meditation everyday. I learned about it from listening to talk by Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh. .
So simple a technique, it’s taught to children in other parts of the world. This is a meditation in which you focus on cultivating four qualities of a happy person. While focusing on these specific images you use mindful breathing, mindful walking, total relaxation, and smiling. Why do it? Thich says “we do this so we have more to offer the people we love” 💕

The past few months have been a little bit of a whirl wind which as made it difficult for me to post. I have had a few bumps in the road during this pregnancy🤰🏼 and as a result I will now be on bedrest for the next 4 weeks until my scheduled c-section. Baby and I are doing well, just need to relax and hang in there a few more weeks. I have a week under my belt ✔️and as appealing as the picture above looks💆🏼♀️, spending most of the day in bed or the couch is kind of a drag👎🏻. I have to say I have gained a whole new appreciation for simple things such as taking my daughter to the pool 💦, going to the barn for a simple hack🐴, and even going to the grocery store🍉!! The grass always seems greener I guess, haha😂! Good news is I now have PLENTY of time to catch up on missed blog posts and expanding my online servies and content! Self critical to the core.
I’m my own worst living nightmare.
I can’t escape it,
Never fully waking from it,
I’m living in the shadow of my own creation.
High self expectations,
no easy way out..
I’m climbing, I’m fumbling..
My insides crumbling,
under the weight of the ever growing beast that is my insecurity.
I thought fitness and healthy living would have been my salvation.
But here I am still searching...
This vicious cycle maybe Changing, but its proven persistent and everlasting.
Updating and upgrading where the attacks will do the most damage,
My brain is equipped to both defend and degrade,
both being equally savage.
How do you win a battle, fought against you..
Where your enemy is your own subconscious,
Who knows every weakness better than either your brain or your heart do..
It’s an on going score card;
Win or Lose
Daily you have to choose,
Between being that negative or positive thinker,
Freeing your mind or holding yourself down and back like a thousand pound anchor..
I want to fly and explore,
With wide wings or open sail.
