First time throwing a cast net using the over-the-shoulder technique 🙌🏾 This was my first throw👌🏾 But I really don’t want to learn this technique cause it’s time consuming and you get super wet in the process. Been trying to do it the “easier” way but can’t seem to get it right 😩
Practice practice practice. When I was younger I had a coach that would tell us “there’s no perfect, there’s better. And practice makes better” I think that rings true in anything we try to accomplish. The more we practice, the better we get and that is as close to perfect as any of us will ever be. Only 10 days and a wake up to PA archery season, get that muscle memory in tune so you can make the shot at the moment of truth! On a side note, the second arrow passed clear through the target. I think it’s time for a new 3D target! #gohuntpa#pabowhunting#goldtiparrows#archery#practicemakesbetter
Board and train April is working on duration of sit stay and down stay with distractions in close proximity. She has worked on stay with duration and stay with distraction so now we combine the two! Her BFF Lennon serves as the distraction for a group stay as she builds duration. This is all helping her gear up for her Advanced Canine Good Citizen Test and her Community Canine Test.
Day 44: Not nearly the cleanest run through, but working on straightening my bow (which gets super crooked when I’m doing fast runs) which will allow for a cleaner excerpt! Sometimes it’s all about the little things.
Also, for some reason the beginning of this is such a finger twister for me, so there’s also videos of me just practicing the beginning.
I wonder how much of what weighs me down is not mine to carry.
I read this today and it hit me like a truck! Holy cow did I need to have that reality check today. It is so easy to spend so much time and energy on things we can't control. Examples: How others see us, choices others are making, politics, celebrities, drama at work, family drama. And yet even though we can't control it we carry it around, and allow it to weigh us down.
Some of the best advice I was given in counseling about this was, you cannot control others, all you can do is control how you are reacting to others/situations. But you don't have to take it on. It is not yours to carry!

Board and train Gunner is nervous around unknown sounds, people, and dogs so he barks to express his need for space. We're helping him learn an alternative behavior of attention to the handler while outside as well as boosting his confidence around these scary things. Consistency and patience are needed!
This right here ladies and gents is What I like to call a shit sandwich... First proper lifting session back in over a month and all in all it felt good. Amazing in fact. Legs and shoulders today. Only a short session to get back into things but I'm feeling it. Kept the weights lighter than normal and worked on a 5, 3, 1 basis.
So here is the first good slice of bread of our shit sandwich... 👆🏻👆🏻 I still have some nice shoulder definition and I've got a good pump on after today's session! Happy with that!
Now scroll for the yummy shit filling of our sandwich 💩👉🏻 I got to my 1x80kg squat and while the weight didn't feel too heavy, my knees disagreed... they collapsed inwards. Urgh... question for you all; will just getting knee supports help with this problem? Or is it a joint strength thing? Answer in the comments for me please! 😊💁🏼♀️👇🏻👇🏻 Now scroll for the second good slice of bread to finish off our sandwich... I dropped the weight back down to 60kg. An easy weight for me really and no problems keeping those knees out. Just wanted to go back and make sure I wasn't collapsing my knees at every weight. These felt good. Strong, even. Never hurts to practice the basics at a lower weight. So I'm going to finish each exercise off with a low weight technique check. Fingers crossed this helps! --------------------- #fitfam#fitfamuk#ukfitfam#gym#gymgirl#fitgirl#fitness#lifting#girlsthatlift#girlsthatsquat#womenthatsquat#stronggirl#strongwomen#fitneasgoals#gains#gainsaddict#beastmode#backonit#livelovelift#feelinggood#feelingfit#feelingstrong#practicemakesbetter#keeppushing#instagym#instafit#powerlifting#girlsthatpowerlift#shelifts
Meet Watson! This cutie pie just started working with us. His family has some goals with him including some therapy work! We love when families have goals because it gives their training direction and motivates them to practice!
Willis loves other dogs so much that he barks at them and bullies them into play. This is obviously inappropriate and will get him into trouble so he is working on lowering his arousal level and improving manners around other dogs.
I bought this puzzle well over a year ago for Isla. And while she’s always been an excellent puzzler, it was too advanced. Too huge and she couldn’t really do it without help. Today my friends she finished this 1000 piece puzzle all on her own. Took it off the shelf. And pieced it together over several sittings. I wish I could remember how many days it took. Maybe a week? #hugeaccomplishment#growthmindset#practicemakesbetter
I know I’m not the “best” artist/creative out there as I fully believe there’s always room to grow by learning from others, trial & error, gaining experience, etc. I work to not be bitter about things I didn’t do perfectly. However, it’s when others act awkward around me after they’ve turned me down because I have not met their expectations. Honestly it makes me feel a bit out of sorts and trust me when I say I’ve moved on. Chances are I’m trying to better myself so I can prevent similar situations. There’s no need for me or anyone to show perfection to try and inspire/impress others but rather how our own imperfections are dealt with ❤️
If you listen closely, you can hear my coach shout "no" as I went to grab the silks. Grabbing onto the silks at this point would have made everything loose and I could have possibly fallen into my head or gotten stuck 😬
Recently I've found that I have been too confident with my routine so I'm not paying as much attention to it and not concentrating the way that I should be. Last night I fell off the ring onto my head because, again, I was too confident and I wasn't concentrating. Luckly I want hurt too bad (just a sore neck) but PLEASE be careful and always train with people around you to watch and help you get out of sticky situations.
I'm sure Declan isn't the first person to say this, but it's the first time I've heard it...and it had me like boom!💥💥
Such a powerful message. Practice might make perfect... eventually. But there is so much work to do in the middle. Small steps. Progress. Get a little better every day. ·
Even more amazing is that came from my "perfectionist, I don't want to do it unless I'm already great at it" little guy. Fingers crossed🤞🏻that he's taking his own advice.
