Following up on a post recently by @phillearney I was meeting a client for a Sunday morning session. When I got to the gym floor ( before my client arrived , thankfully) I was presented with what only looked like the aftermath of a hurricane! There were dumbbells all over the floor, 20kg plates scattered around the squat rack and deadlift platform, and the leg press had been conveniently loaded up to 300+ kgs!
Not only is this unpleasant for a client to see but it is a health and safety risk!

Now if you were running a cafe or restaurant would you leave dirty dishes and cutlery on the tables and a mess on the floor. If you did, your business wouldn’t last very long as no one would want to eat there. Health hazard!

I promptly got to work and re stacked every weight plate and dumbbell (didn’t take me long as it helps to be a strong SOB). I’m tired of constantly reminding gym members to put their weights back because they just go into a sulk like spoilt children. 😫
This is my office and this business is my livelihood. I take pride in my place of work and take responsibility for the presentation of the gym that I operate at. If other PT’s don’t believe it’s their job then that’s their look out. Taking pride in the appearance of your gym will make you stand out! Be different!

Well that flew so I hit 314 for a smooth single ☺️ with a little over 2 weeks left to dial everything in. So blessed that it was such a minor injury and I’m still able to compete on October 12

However, taking into consideration 150kg bodyweight, double knee reconstruction at a young age and has only been squatting for 6 months with me due to always previously having knee pain. Even when we feel weak, we are, in fact, strong; strong in many other ways. The truth is that we all have off days. Today was one of those days for me. Everything felt extra heavy. Hitting depth felt impossible lol x__x

Regardless of the fact that I am disappointed in my lifts, I feel proud of myself for still putting in 100% effort into every rep. Off days don't mean that you give up, that you don't try, that you don't continue to put in the same amount of hardwork and effort. You keep going.

Even if my 100% today wasn't as strong as yesterday, or the day before, that's okay. It doesn't mean that I have lost progress, or backtracked. I guess it's called powerlifting rather than ego lifting for a reason haha :) True strength isn't powered by ego, but by heart, a shit ton of hardwork, 1000% effort on days that you really don't want to. True strength is powered by you--how you compare to the person you were yesterday, how much effort you put into a set vs. the previous set. True strength is not determined by how you compare to others, but to yourself.

Are you growing the way that you want to grow, and in the direction you want to grow?

My first powerlifting comp Ulster open. It didnt go well i struggle with some cramps (calf, hamstring, quad) realy painfull. Overall i did 4/9 510 total and take 1st place in 83kg category.

Been focusing on perfect position on the big 3, already making some great progress, honestly it feels like death but I wouldn't have it another way, this is what I love the most. The journey, the process and the pain. PB's are awesome but there is always more weight to be lifted and if you don't enjoy the ride, you ain't gonna last long 😉

Working on hook grip and the new set up today. 405x3 with hook, strength was good for plenty more, but the hook wasnt. Then pulled an easy 425, then went to 505 which i didny quite fully lockout bc my hook was failing quickly. Then did 4x5 ssb squats, 5x6 RDL with a hook grip on the fat bar, chest supported rows and seated rows. Fun day. I was pretty creative today.. instead of super setting triceps and biceps. I wanted to focus on hypertrophy, so i trained 6 exercises per muscle group with 6 Sets per exercise with little to no rest. It's weight training Hiit style. 
So if you want to try it out it looks like this. 
Setup your dumb bells or machines. Pick a weight that's 70-80% of your 1 rep max. You then attempt as many reps as possible. Then when you're done without rest push 50% of your 1rep max. Repeat this like a circuit until mechanical Failiure. With larger muscle groups this would be far too taxing. But training arms and shoulders you can get away with it. The pump is insane and it will promote serious growth. All while tapping into your cardiovascular system.
