That's it! Moving to the city. Into a highrise, no balcony, no windows, no plants. Definitely no WALLABIES. Ten minutes ago the 3 pots in the foreground were splendid pink geraniums (post 27 June). 'Must put those pots up high,' I said last night. Talk about tempting the universe.
Oh but hang on - see the bonsai just behind, on the right - my grandfather's Moreton Bay Fig. It's been in that pot since 1959, and I suppose it wouldn't like a windowless apartment. Guess I'll stay here after all. #gardenlove#landforwildlife#bonsai#moretonbayfig#inlovewithgardening#potplants#containergarden
There are more than 10 cherry tomatoes are growing in that 15" pot. The first batch was so sweet and tasty. I hope this 2nd batch will taste the same. They have been growing fast and non stop since I implemented the tips tricks i found from youtube for tomatoes to grow well and fruiting.
The tips are:
1. If your tomato flower isn't producing fruits you can help it to pollinate by gently tapping the blossom flower as it causing a vibration. As for myself, I just give the stem a little shake so the pollen will fall out of the male straw and fall on the end of the blossom. It will after that start growing tomato fruits.
2. Pruning tomato suckers are recommended because the resulting new stem is competing for nutrients with the original plant. You may be setting more fruits if you leave the suckers to grow, but the fruits will be smaller and the plant will be more cumbersome.
