At 39 weeks I wished he had arrived weeks ago. Pre natal Vs 8 months preggo vs 6 weeks post partum... I gained a lot of weight during pregnancy and I must understand that this weight will go away gradually... I learnt this the hard way... I exercised the same way as I did pre pregnancy and now I’m down with a knee injury... I’ve understood that I need to give my body time to heal.. after all, delivery is a second birth for women.. I’ve been told by a few friends and relatives about how fat I look (as if I don’t know that already) and all this only adds up to post partum depression, which actually is a real thing.. if you have a perfect figure post pregnancy, good for you.. not everyone is as lucky as you.. a few are stuck with stretch marks, excess weight etc.. let’s give our body the rest it deserves and then start the grind in order to be healthy.. till then eat healthy and enjoy with your little bundle of joy #momlifebelike #mom #momlife #pregnancy #postpartumbody #postpartum #postpregnancy #postpartumdepression #postpartumbelly #mom #motherhood #motherhoodunplugged #momlifeisthebestlife #mommy #mommyandme

Going through old photos trying to find pictures from 2008/2009, my unhealthiest years. And I can’t find many photos. I had no confidence, no self esteem, I knew I had “let myself go” and didn’t want there to be evidence of that. It should have been the “best years of my life” – my junior and senior year in college. For me, I felt lost. Looking back, I can see how much I let my anxiety get the best of me.

Fast forward to Aug 2011: the scariest time in my life. I was diagnosed with eye cancer. It took fear for me to put my health as a priority again. I blamed myself for a long time – did I get cancer because of decisions I made? Was my declining health what led to my body developing such a dreaded disease? .
It took time, years in fact, before I found my stride. A weight and lifestyle that became easy to maintain. Daily exercise and better nutritional choices, along with incorporating a regular mindfulness practice - that’s what worked for me at the time.

It’s been 7 years since my diagnosis and I feel like I’m starting over again. But this time as a new Mama!! I had a vision of how my pregnancy was going to be, and it was not at all like I expected… I gained about 40lbs with this pregnancy.
.
So I made a choice. I decided to find an online accountability group to help me navigate this postpartum fitness journey. Last time I made a lifestyle change, I did it alone. This time, I have a whole team of likeminded women to check in with. I have a group to hold me accountable to MY goals, a group to motivate and support me along MY postpartum journey. .
My reason for making this decision NOW is simple: my Baby Bear. I want to be a strong, healthy and confident Mama Bear for him. A mom who isn’t worried about sharing cookies we bake together, and can play all day in the backyard. He is why I am making space for my needs and will speak kindly to myself throughout this journey.

It's mentally weird going from 9 months of a rapidly changing body and shape to suddenly having more or less the body I had before. I still feel pregnant and have to remind myself that I don't have to accommodate for my stomach the way I did before, that I take up less space.

It reminds me a lot of when I first saw big changes from weight loss and was able to tie my shoes without struggling or put on pants without forcing them on, but I still saw myself as looking the way I did when I was 270+ pounds. It's interesting how much of the way we see ourselves is based on outdated information that our brains won't let go of 🤷‍♀️

Already 1 week since the birth of my son. My body is amazing and did a wonderful job. Growing a little human in my belly for 9  months. And now, my body is doing everything to be back to normal. I don’t really know much exactly I’ve lost in this photo I took last Friday. But yesterday, I saw that I had only 4kg left. My belly is smaller now. I’ll take a new photo this Friday. Actually, I do nothing for my body: especially with a c-section. I eat a lot (breastfeeding makes you starving), and spend much of my time in bed, taking care of my baby!  I feel really close to him in my sexy diapers 🤪.
Don’t be hard on yourself and love your body!!! .

I haven’t said much about my birth but it was a challenging one; Fin got stuck during a cesarean and after a vacuum and then forceps failed to get him out, he required my abdominal muscles to be cut with scissors 2cms. Post birth I was left with a 6cm gap between my transverse abdominal muscles, and connective tissue that was so damaged when I touched my tummy my fingers would sink into my insides. So at 7wks postpartum the journey begins to bring my core back together. With the help of a physio my #diastasisrecti has already closed to just over 2cm so I’m feeling much less glum! I couldn’t care what I look like at the moment, or about #absafterbabies or any of that jazz - I just want to be back in the ocean and able to surf which I was already doing by this stage post Kit! Oh and also it would be nice to have the muscles that hold your organs in and stabilise your pelvis back together again haha I guess the reason for this post is just to acknowledge CHILDBIRTH IS REAL! Respect to all women and their bodies! I’m going to keep turning on my core, and encouraging it to strengthen while holding these little 3kilos weights, as much as I can!

⠀✅Мертвая тяга + выпады в шаге с гантелями (да, я специально делаю шаг чуть в диагональ, так лучше чувствую целевую мышцу).
⠀Основная моя цель 🎯 сейчас - укрепить мышечный корсет и восстановить правильную осанку, так как после беременности и из-за постоянно скрюченной спины во время кормления я заметно ссутулилась☹️ (все логично: во время беременности мышцы спины расслабились, да и согласно тестированию Inbody приличная часть мышц ушла).
⠀Силовые тренировки - важная часть в восстановлении правильной осанки в конкретно моем случае (я подхожу к своей проблеме комплексно и не только работаю с динамическими мышцами, но и включаю в свою программу работу с тоническими(постуральными) мышцами, отвечающими за положение тела в пространстве, ещё в моей программе обязательно МФР и растяжка).
⠀Постуральные мышцы проработать гораздо тяжелее, так как человек не чувствует их работу и, соотвественно, не может контролировать их.
⠀ Самое простое упражнение для проработки этих мышц - это планка👌Но помним, что все упражнения полезны при правильной технике выполнения👌

So this one is 12 weeks today! Quite a milestone as it marks the end of phase one of my post-natal ‘wellness’ plan. The goals were to focus on repairing & strengthening my pelvic floor muscles and to address any abdominal separation (Diastasis Recti) that may have occurred. As it happened, the whole plan needed readjusting as my pelvic floor stayed strong and ab separation was minimal BUT having endured major emergency surgery there was a whole different form of mending to do! Just goes to show you can’t predict what will happen so it’s important to keep an open mind & be prepared to make changes along the way!The plan for phase two (weeks 12-24) includes the reintroduction of light resistance training alongside regular jogging. Improving my range of movement and more structured nutrition are top of the list too!

Perfect to snack on after or before your workout as an energy boost 👟💪 And.... We incorporate them into our recipes (pretty much most baby food), great to snack on, smoothies, shakes, baking, yoghurts, oats, you name it!

4 weeks after the birth of my triplets. 👶🏼👶🏼👶🏼 ⠀
I still have a weird looking hanging belly, and I am a bit surprised it has not gotten smaller since my last picture three weeks ago. Kind of disappointing I must admit, and I am not too happy to share this picture. 
On the positive side the c-section scar doesn’t hurt anymore, and in the last two days I’ve almost felt like myself again! Except for this heavy sagging belly that is. 😆 I’ve been waiting for some belly bands that were shipped from the US several weeks ago, and they will finally arrive tomorrow. Can’t wait to try them on and see if they have any effect! ⠀

Ćwiczę 2 razy w tygodniu z trenerem @bartoszjedrzejczuk_private (+100 do motywacji), resztę dni w domu robię cardio. Nie robię tego, bo muszę!!! Robię to, bo chcę... bo to mój styl życia który towarzyszy mi już kilka dobrych lat. Dzięki temu czuje się lepiej, mam więcej energii, jestem zdyscyplinowana.

90 kilo ⚖️ ••• Na mijn eerste bevalling woog ik 90 kilo en was ik totaal niet blij met mijn lichaam 😢

Opeens had ik striae en hing mijn lijf op plekken waarvan ik niet eens wist dat het hangen kon 🤔

Deze foto is een paar weken na mijn tweede bevalling gemaakt. De striae is alleen maar ‘erger’ geworden en ook hangen doet mijn lichaam nog meer •
Daarnaast weeg ik nu zelfs 92 kilo. Toch voel ik me nu mooi, krachtig en trots en weet ik dat de pracht van een lichaam betrekkelijk is •
Tuurlijk wil ik er graag wat kilo’s af. Maar dat is vooral voor mijn gezondheid

#5monthspostpartum and 12 weeks into the @kelseywells @sweat program. After Harlow I wanted to try something different in the gym so I started the trial for Kelsey’s program and fell in love with it! I just rock up at the gym and do what she says, no thinking, no stress, I just work as hard as I can but also listen to my body as I am only 5 months post baby. I also started Pilates back up on Saturday and loved it! Exercise is my ‘me time’ I read @twokidsraisingkids post today and she nailed it, taking time for yourself isn’t selfish.. it’s necessary, you can’t pour from an empty cup, you have to do little things each day or week to keep your own cup full 💕 .

I have about 30+ messages from moms whinging about their bellies and telling me I’m so lucky I don’t have a pouch...lmao.. Well here you go! Feast your eyes on this gut, devoid of sucking in  and high waisted workout trousers 😩😩😩🤣🤣🤣I feel like we women put soooo much pressure on ourselves to be this or that, and social media hasn’t helped perhaps, because most people only post pictures that show them off in a good light... there is SOOOOOOO much more to life than how flat your stomach is or how tight your butt is...😂🙄🙄 I’m working out to get stronger and lose body fat but I still love me, diastasis, flabby arms and weird shaped middle inclusive!.... you should be comfortable with yourself no matter what, whether you’re on a journey to becoming fitter or not... a fitness journey fuelled by self hate will not end well, and you will never be happy with your progress... appreciate the fact that you housed human beings, eat some cake, go for a run if you want, do whatever. Postpartum body

So, this is me.  7 weeks after giving birth to my gorgeous boy.  The pictures are very different from the ones I posted prior to falling pregnant with Noah.  My body is very different, I have bumps, lumps and rolls in places that I didn't have them before.  I have gained 2 stone, an extra chin and have gone from a size 8/10 to a 14, but I wouldn't change anything.  If it wasn't for the changes that my body has gone through I wouldn't have Noah, and I really couldn't imagine that

I am in no rush to get my body back to how it was, but I will slowly start to exercise again.  Noah is starting to become a chunky monkey and I want to be able to lift him without struggling haha. To begin with it will just be walks with my boy, home workouts, and swimming. I didn't work out during my pregnancy because I really struggled so I don't want to rush anything and end up getting injured

I don't have any experience of postpartum fitness so if anyone has any hints or tips please message me

For 9 months, I grew a human in my body. For the past month, I've been nourishing her from my body (it's amazing how GOD created our bodies with the gift to sustain life). I'm exhausted. My body is still healing. All things post partum: up and down horomones/wacky thyroid levels, low iron, mood swings/being in a funk at times, continued symphysis pubis dysfunction & even some late PPH... Yeah, a lot has been going on. •

I just got the "ok," to workout from doctor and I couldn't be more excited. I've always been a major gym rat, but tough pregnancies usually = minimal to no working out during pregnancy for me. To say the least, I'm ready to start the rebuilding phase (I'll never forget after my 2nd pregnancy, I couldn't even do a plank from my knees for months due to my separated pelvis). Working out is the #selfcare I need right now... an increase in energy, positive feelings from endorphins, regaining muscle mass, dropping some pounds etc. I'm looking forward to all of that. •

Being a momma bear of 4 little ones doesn't necessarily permit me a lot of free time, but I'm committed to carving out this "me time," because simply put, working out makes me #happy ✨ •
