Y’all I am doing something totally out of my comfort zone here, but it’s because it matters. We are halfway through an 80 workout program, and it feels good to notice some awesome results!
.
And - the results go WAY BEYOND than what these photos show.

💕 I’ve been learning that there’s no one body type that’s “perfect” despite what society wants us to think.
💕 I’ve been reminded that I can challenge myself and win.
💕 I’m remembering how awesome it is to feel strong.
💕 I’m embracing things about my body that might not be pretty by the world’s standards but are INCREDIBLE in my eyes, because I know my body was able to carry and deliver a beautiful gift from God in our daughter!
💕 I feel empowered by the support around me from my team and the awesome women in my challenge groups.
💕 I am confident that I am taking care of my body so I can hopefully keep up with Rian and our busy lifestyle for many more years ahead!
💕 I know what it means to feel good in my own skin, and to work for what I want instead of wish for it!
💕 I’ve come to appreciate the journey, know I’m adopting a balanced lifestyle, and focus on progress and not perfection. .
These photos make me excited to see what the next 40 days will bring - physically, mentally, and emotionally! Be grateful for your body and all it can do!

Idc what anyone say, but the fitness center/home workouts don't have anything on the actual gym . I'm not saying you can't reach your goals at home because you most defiantly can. As I was packing today for my trip tomorrow, I pulled some shorts out that I bought brand new last spring. It was right before I started this journey and I had came to conclusion that my new ‘mom bod’ was as good as it was ever going to get again. I need to take a couple minutes to talk about #breastfeeding and give a gigantic shoutout to @latchedmama. For the past 3 months I’ve been having anxiety about breastfeeding on our trip to Chicago. I was tied to my gigantic nursing pillow and feeding Griffin was a legit process. I was pretty serious about trying to completely switch to formula before this trip just so I wouldn’t have to worry about breastfeeding.

Over the past month, we’ve finally transitioned away from using the nursing pillow, but I still felt uncomfortable nursing in public. I decided to finally bite the bullet and order a nursing T-shirt from Latched Mama. It cost more than I would usually spend on a T-shirt, but I figured if it worked, it would be worth it.
.
I wore this T-shirt for the first time on our travel days and guys. Breastfeeding Griffin on-the-go was so. dang. EASY! On top of that, the shirt kept me so covered that you could hardly see my breast at all. Plus, there was no annoying nursing cover to deal with.
.
The first time I fed him in my seat on the plane, I almost cried because I couldn’t believe how simple it was and that we reached this stage in our breastfeeding journey... especially considering how ridiculously difficult it has been. I still don’t know how much longer I’ll breastfeed, but I finally have no more anxiety about feeding Griffin while traveling if I need to.

I’m not going to let my reasons why not  overshadow my reasons why!! I’m going to power down some energize and press play on a HIIT workout that will really rock little baby Charlie’s world!!! Because -I will feel better once I’m done.

👉🏼 I no longer obsess over missing a workout or veering off my plan & I certainly enjoy life, food and drinks a little more.

👉🏼I fill up my cup daily and I no longer feel guilty for taking ME TIME because I know it is necessary and makes me a better mom and wife. .

I am spent. I am running on maybe 6 hours of interrupted sleep, I feel like anytime I wasn’t nursing Lincoln today I was rocking himself handling a kiddo request or trying to get one of my own to do list tasks done before we leave tomorrow.

4 years ago leaving for vacation meant getting hair done, nails, clothes shopping...now?

It’s packing for 4 other people before even thinking of myself, I got my hair done 3 weeks ago because I knew this would be a hectic week. 
I painted my own toes and nails and I’ll probably re do them tomorrow night or the next day. 
I have struggled today with the ‘this time will pass mentality’ and instead I just desire a day of no responsibilities to little people and their endless requests for the day...I know intellectually this time will go quickly and I will miss it. 
But right now I really miss the ability to shower at my own pace & get ready right after, eat a meal without a child eating half of it, and do things on my schedule 🤗🤗 my fantasy land and idea of vacation & relaxation have sure changed. 
Moms, we know the days are long and the years are short - we get it and KNOW we will one day miss it. 
But in the THICK of it, it’s okay, in my opinion to somedays just miss your old self, the simplicity in the day and the quietness of your nights.

I am spent. I am running on maybe 6 hours of interrupted sleep, I feel like anytime I wasn’t nursing Lincoln today I was rocking himself handling a kiddo request or trying to get one of my own to do list tasks done before we leave tomorrow. 4 years ago leaving for vacation meant getting hair done, nails, clothes shopping...now? It’s packing for 4 other people before even thinking of myself, I got my hair done 3 weeks ago because I knew this would be a hectic week. I painted my own toes and nails and I’ll probably re do them tomorrow night or the next day. I have struggled today with the ‘this time will pass mentality’ and instead I just desire a day of no responsibilities to little people and their endless requests for the day...I know intellectually this time will go quickly and I will miss it. But right now I really miss the ability to shower at my own pace & get ready right after, eat a meal without a child eating half of it, and do things on my schedule 🤗🤗 my fantasy land and idea of vacation & relaxation have sure changed. Moms, we know the days are long and the years are short - we get it and KNOW we will one day miss it. But in the THICK of it, it’s okay, in my opinion to somedays just miss your old self, the simplicity in the day and the quietness of your nights. Tonight, today, this mom does. 😍🤷🏼‍♀️

Motherhood is hard, so hard I wonder how I had so many babies, but even on the hardest of days, every part of me knows it is worth it, and I remind myself, it’s hard because it’s important.

I didn’t bounce back after my pregnancies, it was probably closer to a crawl, but that was okay because I was moving forward. Motherhood requires strength, energy, stamina, patience, and endurance, and small steps everyday have moved me forward for progress, not perfection, to have confidence to take on the day, and most of all be happier that I am doing something for me. We are raising the future, but we can't do it without taking care of ourselves as well.

✨Get up each day striving to be better than yesterday—you are capable of being stronger than you ever knew was possible.
✨Let go of all or nothing because every step counts.
✨Encourage yourself just as you do your children with all progress.

Plus I am thinking about getting certified in hormonal health. I’ll admit our relationship is definitely at its healthiest (besides when Alem was in the Army) it has been in years. And we can honestly thank our time at the gym for that. A friend said to me the other day about her relationship, which totally relates to us too. When we go to the gym we feel like a team. Most times it’s just us two so we only have each other to rely on. We only have each other to motivate one another. And we are growing together. From 8 days post-partum to 5 months post-partum.
If you truly want to reach your goal you will do it... no matter how hard it may seem. You have all the control with your health. This is me focusing 100% on my diet, rarely do I find myself in the gym anymore, I mean I do workout but not as consistently as I use to be. 
I chose to take control of every aspect of my diet and truly love how and what I eat. I love health and fitness and wanted to transform my body back to its state pre-baby. I think I’ve accomplished more than what I set out to do. I’ve gain confidence I never had before. 
And gaining confidence is the most important trait I have always lacked. 
So if you really want something, don’t make excuses. Just go for it and never look back.

When we first found out we were pregnant I was terrified. I had worked so hard to lose weight and was feeling so good. I was so scared of gaining a ton of weight during my pregnancy and never being able to lose it. I was scared of becoming a mom even though I had dreamed of the day for most of my life! Nonetheless, there I was in ALL of my glory, 9 months pregnant and anxiously awaiting our little boy’s arrival. 😬 I gained 34 pounds total and 20 of that came in the last trimester! My boddddyyy was screaming for some relief. The CRAZIER part was that previous to my pregnancy I had lost 55 pounds! 😱 But as it turns out growing human is much different than being overweight... our bodies were created to carry babies!!! .

Fast forward to today. Two years later, I’ve found a place for exercise again in my daily routine and my eats are simple and clean. I’ve got far more muscle now than I did two years ago and am working my way back to that goal weight of mine. (Even though I preach that it’s just a number — I know where I am most comfortable and confident. THAT is my goal!) 🤜🏻🤛🏻 I truly believe that the same two people can weigh the exact same number yet one can be healthy from the inside out and the other have the most horrible habits. 😬 It is JUST A NUMBER! .

I’ve set out to help as many people as possible to find the same FREEDOM I have found in the last 5 weeks. ❤️ I am eating plenty of food and have yet to feel deprived. I’ve gone on a week long vacation and enjoyed some 🍷 too! Andddd ya know when that particular time of the month rolls around... I have even had some chocolate! It’s all about balance and finding what WORKS for your body! .

She was surprised and bummed she didn’t win this last year. I’m kind of glad she had to wait a year. Lots of lessons learned from it. You won’t always get the validation you feel you deserve when you think you should, and do you even really need it? 🤔 We worked hard all year but prepared her that she might not win it again because things aren’t always fair and there might actually be someone who deserves it more. But she got it 🥇 and what an amazing year it’s been. She had her first brush with a bully who really didn’t let up all year. Her best friend and we 4 parents worked a lot to help her cope with it and build empathy. She learned that drawing, hiking and reading are her favorite stress-busters. 💪🏼 It was really heartbreaking at times. 💔 I had some real #MamaBear moments after listening to her cry herself to sleep in my arms, and my friends had to talk me down. 🐻😅 Despite everything, she loved this year, especially Mrs. Anderson, who is an AMAZING teacher (and seeing Mrs. Spaulding every day was a huge bonus!) It takes a village. We are so grateful. 💛🖤 To kiddos who were recognized for their kindness and work ethic — keep it up, you’re the rockstars.🌟

The left pic I am in my 20’s super skinny & I can eat what I want when I want & I don’t gain. The middle, I am in my 30’s 80lbs heavier then the pic on the left, 3 months after my 2ndbaby. The dr told me to lose 50lbs.  I am fat, flabby, I have never looked like this and I am depressed. It stresses me to wear clothes other then jogging pants. I can’t paint my toe nails as its too hard to bend over with that stomach in the way. They said breast feeding I would lose the baby weight, I am not clothing shopping as the weight will come off & I will fit back into my prebaby clothes.  All those wishes & dreams.  I had no clue how to diet or lose weight, 7 years of hell. 7 years of research, diet, calorie counting, endless cardio, I thought I was healthy eating, I thought I was taking care of myself.  NOTHING was working.  it wasn’t until I learned the role nutrition plays with our hormones. How food affects our anxiety, stress & mindset.  I spent the last year losing those 50lbs ( well 45 to be exact) to be the person you see in the right picture. Enter me in my 40’s. 
I have been there. Diets that don’t work, weight that comes back I had no clue what emotional eating was or stress eating. I had no idea that our female bodies change with each decade, our hormones work differently as we age, & our post partem body will NEVER look or behave like our prebaby bodies.  I am excited that my 40+ year old body is stronger & healthier today then it ever has been & I am excited about where I am going.
But in this journey of stress & rollercoaster up and downs, I promised myself that I would never let another woman feel this way.  Us women need to stick together, this thing called motherhood is hard enough, & aging sucks.  So yes, it took me 8 years to lose the baby weight. Please know you are not alone, you are not the only one fighting the image in the mirror. You are not the only one sneaking chocolate at night, spoonful’s of peanut butter when no one is looking. Youre not the only one with a secret Pinterest board of skinny bitches in bikinis to help “motivate” you to eat better. Please  reach out, I am here, I want to help you. You deserve to be happy.
The left pic I am in my 20’s super skinny & I can eat what I want when I want & I don’t gain. The middle, I am in my 30’s 80lbs heavier then the pic on the left, 3 months after my 2ndbaby. The dr told me to lose 50lbs.  I am fat, flabby, I have never looked like this and I am depressed. It stresses me to wear clothes other then jogging pants. I can’t paint my toe nails as its too hard to bend over with that stomach in the way.
