As most of you know because I obnoxiously shoved it down your throats the last 9 months, I worked out pretty consistently my entire pregnancy. I think it really contributed to a relatively easy/pain free (kind of) experience (plus I think it helped during labor). Now, post baby, you’re not supposed to work out for 6 weeks to let everything heal. At first I thought since I didn’t have any tears that I wouldn’t be thaaaat sore (HAHAHAHA so naive) but honestly these first couple of walks have been SO MUCH HARDER than I expected. Coming from someone who was jogging up to a couple days before delivery, it’s kind of mentally hard to accept that my body has been through something major and because of that needs 6 weeks to chill. BUT I’m going to take it easy for now with a few walks a week and really enjoy extra snuggles on the couch while I can. Plus let’s be honest nice leisurely walks around the lake are MUCH more enjoyable than dying on a spin bike (at least for now).
Mama Strut Postpartum Support + Baby 👶 =Happy Mama 🤱 “I’m trying to remember all parts of the first days with Foster, and I finally understand when people say it’s a blur. I was suppressing the pain of my body healing and my lack of sleep. I felt mad I couldn’t move as easy or have the energy to get up to pick him up when he was crying. I remember putting on my Mama strut and a rush of confidence covered me. The feeling of being put together, literally, and a sense of my pain easing, so I could better take care of Foster. My body has just worked so hard to give me the sweetest 9 pound gift. Now I can finally give my body time to heal and the time to be celebrated! I’ve given myself the liberty to lounge around in my @mamastrut cuddling my baby all day!” - @belovedliz
So happy to support you mama! 😊
Sooo some of you may remember I joined as a new member last week (whilst in labour) as I felt I needed the motivation of awards and certificates to see me get back to target.
Today was my first weigh in.
Well we knew I'd definitely lost at least 8lbs11 lol. 👶🤣 I wanted at least a stone but secretly hoped for 1.5, so I was DELIGHTED with this 😍❤ off to a cracking start.
2lbs goal for me this week for that 2 stone award and half way to target!! Making good choices pays off. Love the feeling of being excited to get on the scales each week again. 💃
8 weeks postpartum. My stomach is still soft and squishy. I’m eating clean (lots of lean meats and veggies!!) but also am still enjoying lots of treats 😏 working out has been so much fun but hard for me to actually go do. All about getting back into and finding a NEW routine. I’ll tell ya what, having more than one kiddo is no joke!!
My new Podcast, Mothering the Mother is here. I am so excited. See link in bio to my website or find it on iTunes directly.
I have released 3 episodes at once to get going. °
The first episode is with Sophie Lazarski of @nourish_paris. Sophie is a mother of 2 and has a business which provides nourishing foods to new mothers in Paris. We talk about the value of nurturing new mothers, the mother-care community in Paris, the role the father can play in cooking for their wife/partner (which I had never considered before in terms of men also finding their new identify) and self care while working as a mother. I really enjoyed speaking with Sophie. Thank you, Sophie.
I will post about my next 2 guests in the next couple of days.
So grateful for my podcast editor extraordinnaire, Kim of @theorganizednerdva. She really has been amazing and it is thanks to her this thing has launched. °
Let's work together to change the story for our daughter's generation with #matrescencerevolution . My vision is to make a social change mother to mother, family to family and food, for me, is the catalyst for change.
I have absolutely no plans of going out but I find that getting ready and dressed in the mornings help me fight away the post pregnancy baby blues. I had pretty bad postpartum with Rylie so I’m trying my best to be on guard this time around 👊🏻 Get my outfit details here: http://liketk.it/2yOAp #liketkit @liketoknow.it

I got into a horrible car accident in 2007 and broke my pelvis. It took 8 months with intense physical therapy to walk normal again.
In 2015, my meniscus tore in my left knee and had surgery in June. The pressure on my right knee to compensate for the pain resulted in serious damage to it. My doctor decided to go back into the right knee and clean up the torn meniscus in there. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism many years ago and have been taking levothyroxine ever since then. I was still lethargic, tired, and constantly cold.
My new thyroid medication didn’t help my weight and it’s been a struggle to lose any weight.
Recently I was diagnosed with Lipoedema which is a long-term (chronic) condition where there's an abnormal build-up of fat cells in the legs, thighs and butt, and sometimes in the arms. The condition usually only affects women, although in rare cases it can also affect men. In our family’s case, I passed this down to my young son.
My daughter introduced these amazing supplements to me a little over a year ago. It has been life changing! I considered a tummy tuck and liposuction but now I will not even consider it!! I am able to keep up my young grandchild and realize that the quality of my life in my 50s is more important than anything! I still have a long way to go but do not hesitate ordering!
I love city life, but getting around with a pram isn’t always the easiest, which is why I’m so grateful for my @ergobabyuk metro (#gifted ) It’s so compact and lightweight, which makes getting around town a breeze. It also makes squeezing into busy restaurants that much easier (mama likes to brunch 💁🏻♀️) And most importantly, Sebastian loves it. He sleeps like a dream in it 🙌
HARVEST TIME! 🥕 Look what we found in our garden this morning! A juicy carrot for Isabelle to enjoy. We have been checking patiently every day (!) on these little gems and they are finally big enough to enjoy. Growing veggies and fruit is a great way for kids to become truly connected to the food they eat (rather than just grabbing a bag of them from the supermarket). We’ve got an obsession with rabbits at the moment (especially Bing, Peter Rabbit and Miffy), so carrots fit well with the theme! Seeing Isabelle happily munching on this home grown beauty is such a lovely thing to see. Ahhh... it’s the small things isn’t !?!?!
Throwing it back to last year when we decorated for the holidays! I remember being soo uncomfortable and my hair was longer than rapunzel 🙌
I love looking threw past annual holiday decorating photos plus it's crazy to believe that belly was housing an almost 9lb baby!
What's your favorite holiday tradition? I must save Christmas morning breakfast + decorating are a tie in my book!
I’m going to be a little transparent in this post... Excuse the smudged Mascara! This is after a Hot yoga class which has been my sanity saver. This is tough for me to talk about but back in October I realized I was dealing with postpartum anxiety. Being in the health and wellness field and helping mom’s cope with this on a daily basis, it was hard for me to admit that it was something I was experiencing. It can happen to anyone for up to two years postpartum. I know I tried to do a lot of the right things like encapsulate my placenta, eat good foods, get adequate rest when possible, essential oil‘s, take good quality supplements, get regular immune boosting chiropractic adjustments, etc... but I realize I just wasn’t moving my body enough and not practicing enough mindfulness. Hot cardio yoga helped me do it all! I use to despise yoga, especially after being an avid Crossfiter for so many years nothing else could compare the exercise endorphins you got mid workout... but this does, well at least for me. If you are struggling with some postpartum stuff it’s ok to admit it. My best advice is to encourage you and find ways to help channel and heal it, through a group or a friend or just get your body moving... it makes a world of difference. I feel so much better now and have increased my strength and conditioning mentally and physically. I started off doing one class a week not using any weights and sitting in child-pose half the time and now I go up to six classes a week and always use weights. I plan to start mixing in some other type of training but for now this is what works for me. Postpartum is forever.🧘♀️#postpartum#lifetimeroseville#warriorclass#mynewsanitysaver#birthfit
At some point in this journey it became about more than just weight loss. ⠀
It became about more than the number I did or didn’t see on the scale. ⠀
It became about more than being thin and aesthetically pleasing. ⠀
It became about gaining strength. ⠀
About gaining confidence. ⠀
About my health. 👊🏻 ⠀
And once again it’s somehow become about something new. ⠀
I used to avoid cardio like the plague. ⠀
I wouldn’t do any sort of cardio even if a pack of wolves were chasing me. ⠀
‘My time is up I guess!’ That’s what I used to say if I was being chased 🙄😂 #dramaticmuch ⠀
But all of a sudden this new 20 minute program is coming out, and I am voluntarily doing cardio. 😱 ⠀
I want to be able to CRUSH this program when it comes out. ⠀
I want to give it my all, I want to be comfortable with the idea of being out of breath and having my heart rate up, so here I am, (begrudgingly I Should add!) making a CHOICE to do cardio. ⠀
To improve my cardiovascular health. ⠀
To improve my breath control, my core control. ⠀
To improve my form for body weight exercises. ⠀
To improve my determination over excuses. ⠀
To ring in the new year ready to crush new challenges and hit new goals. 👊🏻⠀
Plus I keep reminding myself the workouts are 20 minutes each. 😉 ⠀
I can handle 20 minutes of cardio! ⠀
Five spots left for this epic program! ⠀
DM me for details! ⠀
When I decided to go all in, it was to hold myself accountable. To get some skin in the game and get back to fighting weight.
Then I got a message yesterday from a new client, saying “Thanks for helping me stay accountable to my goal!” It melted my heart and made me proud. The idea that I’m helping someone reach their goals is beyond satisfying, and exciting.
Then I got this in the mail today. Some recognition from the CEO, and some extra push to keep helping others.
I’m not sure where this story ends, but I’m getting excited to find out.
Easing back into training with an emphasis on the core and ensuring I can engage it properly again after carrying a baby to almost 42 weeks. Using the bosu ball to add instability from the ground up which will result in core activation to stabilize. In addition I’m breathing through and engaging my core with each rep.
Just a little something I did the other day- Face pulls and single arm cable rows. Light weight & high rep 🤟🏽🏋🏽♀️
Achtung jetzt kommt etwas Werbung 🙈.
Know what we did during my workout today?🤸♀️🏋️♀️⛹️♀️
We played! 🙅♂️👦🤗
I love that I can get in a good workout and play with Tyler both at the same time! At home workouts for the win! 💜🧡💛💚💙

❄️ It’s the most wonderful time of the year ❄️
For more reasons than one, I absolutely love this time of year. Jesus, Willow, family, Christmas music, hot cocoa, hallmark movies. 🎄 🎅🏽 ☃️
I’m also excited for this package, and what will be happening after the new year!! 💪🏼 🎁
