Myth #3...... “You’re body will never be the same again after having a baby”...... We hear women say this so often and as mothers ourselves we know exactly how much our bodies change when we have babies. HOWEVER we need to accept that just because our body maybe have changed, it doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Our body created a BABY and we should be celebrating that, not tearing ourselves apart because our boobs might be a bit saggier or our skin doesn’t look as smooth. Would you change any of that if it meant you didn’t get your baby??? I don’t think so. However, it’s the right nutrition, exercise and self love, sometimes our bodies can be stronger, more functional and leaner AFTER having a baby if we look after it properly....

Lost within the flow of life, find that space for you. Whatever it is. It could be just for half an hour or three days, like it is for me this time. It may be longer and it certainly doesn’t have to be complicated. When I’m at home, I have a few things to do that help me connect to me among the hectic pace of motherhood and entrepreneurship – lighting a candle with a scent I love, doing ten minutes of gardening, saying the word AUM, filling in my gratitude journal… Find your small things and refuel in the hectic pace. CONNECT TO YOU FOR YOUR CHILDREN.

Hello 👋🏼 I’m back-ish on Instagram! When I came off social media back in Sep I thought it would be for a few weeks not necessarily months. It has been a hectic few months with lots of ups and downs and I definitely needed a social media break. As always, I am so grateful for my boys and gorgeous friends. Jonnys parents need a shout out too for always being amazing to us and with Jonah. So since Sep, Jonah turned one and is officially a toddler (my baby is growing so fast 😭), Jonny finally got the leak people to fix the leak (shows how much involvement I’ve had here 🙈), Jonah has had what feels like a cold or virus every bloody week, I’ve caught said cold and ended up with poorly ears and sinuses, we met baby Pearl (so precious 💗), we’ve worked, been signed off work, we’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve trained, we’ve organised and pottered about! Health-wise, my anxiety has upped a gear but thats because after 10 months of a vast range of symptoms, I’ve finally been referred to some specialists and I’m now all panicky about tests and stuff. I had some not great bloods back so I got urgently referred to the haematologist, I freaked out so we went and saw a private consultant, I felt less anxious then about waiting for my NHS appt so it was worth it. In the same week I saw an ENT dr and had a hearing test which showed there is a discrepancy between my ears for hearing (the worst ear from my horrendous infection and also my tinnitis ear), he’s sending me for an MRI (on the bloody 23rd december at 6.10pm, the day after my friends wedding. MRI, health anxiety, claustrophobia and a hangover = no thank you), I’m contemplating a private MRI but knowing they’d send me away with a 24 hour wait but with copies of my scan will drive everyone mad as I would only obsess over the images that I am clearly not able to intrepet! I’ve feared an MRI since my issues began but I know I have to man the feck up and get it done! On a positive, I am eating well and attempting an anti-inflammatory diet (mmm minus the one bowl of cereal this evening...), I am doing yoga, cbt and headspace and I’m actually slowing down for the first time in forever. Well it’s been almost a week since our phenomenal annual conference and it really was the best one yet. 
In 2010 when OneFitMama was founded it was always the goal that it would be more than a fitness company. That it would be a company that uplifting women, supported women but most importantly a company that could build women back up. 
A company with integrity and strength of character that would stand up for better care for mothers even when it was hard to do so.

2010 started off as the year that I tried to end my life and ended up being the year my life was saved. The annual conference is particularly overwhelming for me every year as it is a reminder of just how dark those times were and I feel sick at the possibility that the outcome could have been so different. I’ve struggled this week with all the emotion that has been bubbling on the surface as no matter how much time passes when I reflect on that day it feels as if it just happened. 
That is why we are proud to be working with @1in5film to create a film that shows the honest picture of Postnatal depression and why we invest in training from the UKs leading physiotherapists @harbornept to ensure that we help women recover both physically and mentally. 
There is not a day that I don’t feel blessed and honoured to be in this position and I am grateful to every single mum that is a part of the OneFitFamily. 
I hope that my incredible team and I will long continue to work towards a better future for mothers. ~Sophia

The Christmas festivities are a time that brings family together. Creating happy, timeless memories. ⁣

But for others, new families included, it can be a really difficult time. Deciding how to split your time up equally, who to get gifts for and most but most importantly 'the new mother, and baby'.⁣

'Family' is what you create when you bring a child into the equation, so it should be less about splitting your time and more about other members of family trying to make time to get to you.⁣

These are subjects that create major conflict, adding to the increasing potential of postnatal depression.⁣
⁣
Now is a good time to consider the mental health of eachother. And do what's best for those in your household, without feeling guilty for it. ⁣
⁣

I’ve actually gained weight, I didn’t even realise until I was looking through my pictures. The left pic was taken in October the right picture is now. .

I’m I bothered or gained weight? Not really because I’ve enjoyed eating so much delicious food 🙃 however I’m not feeling #mybestself so I’m cleaning up my diet a little.

I’ve not “fallen off” I wasn’t on to begin with 😂 I’m basically just living and sometimes in life you lose weight, sometimes you gain weight 🤷‍♀️ no good worrying about it. .

I’m actually really keen to see why I can achieve if i don’t eat everything in sight 😂 .

Like I said in my stories yesterday, I like to keep with supersets (back to back exercises) to stay moving and get through more reps in a shorter time.

2️⃣ Unilateral shoulder press w/ high knees (focusing on TvA activation and controlling the pelvis)
3️⃣ Breastfeeding - straight set 😜
4️⃣ Modified push ups (focus on core control) w/ TvA activated Toe Taps
Mixed in with a set of treating toddlers grazed knee and soothing a sulking bub 😂

This shoutout today is not to a client but to our amazing friend @erinjaderand This is a transformation of her postpartum journey. Erin has spent the last 6 years creating 3 beautiful boys and now its her time to shine and take care of herself and she is doing to beautifully.

She has been eating the right foods and gone strict with eating for periods where she felt she needed it. Her training has been a combination of weights and cardio. Nothing drastic, just this magical combination of good food and exercise that proves that’s all it takes.

Thank you for letting us share your journey Ez as I wanted to show the world what is possible when you have a busy life! I hope all the mums out there see this as motivation that your postpartum journey can have results like this when you dedicate time for YOU!

This shoutout today is not to a client but to our amazing friend @erinjaderand This is a transformation of her postpartum journey. Erin has spent the last 6 years creating 3 beautiful boys and now its her time to shine and take care of herself and she is doing to beautifully. • She has been eating the right foods and gone strict with eating for periods where she felt she needed it. Her training has been a combination of weights and cardio. I debated sharing this (is it too much to share?!) but I did commit to sharing the journey with you. I've given neither 100% of my time nor focus to my body since Holly arrived. I have of course got other things going on .
.
Often clients on my programmes will miss a week because life has gotten in the way and feel bad about it - NOBODY makes it through an entire year of workouts without at some point something else taking over .
.
Results don't come from 1 workout, not from 1 good meal anymore than derailing your progress doesn't come from 1 missed workout or even a week of missed workouts .
.
You can always do more, you can always do less. What you need to find is the level that suits you that is CONSISTENT, that's ACHIEVABLE, that's REAL to you. This is each months process since she arrived .
.
I've been focusing on good quality nutrition 70-80% of the time. When it's 70% I'm eating all the right things and sometimes the bits I don't need on top. Again I could be working harder on that but equally I could be not working on it at all

And of course following my own #onlineprogrammes #homeworkouts To rebuild my strength from #core to fitness and flexibility .
.
I don't usually like doing the progress photos and actually a bigger measuring stick would be how much lower my stress levels have been, my sleep has been better than following the birth of my first but of course both of those things are directly affected by your exercise and nutrition .

I am not back to where I was nor do I expect to be. I am happy working on feeling good, getting stronger and feeling healthier all whilst having the energy to look after my kids (who by the way love night time raving... whoever said second children were better sleepers lied to me 😂😴)

Today is our Accountability Group it is STATURDAY! What does that mean? 
We take before pictures, we take measurements, we write down how much we weigh, and we evaluate our journey thus far and celebrate NON scale victories! 
I am not a fan of the scale alone and I love that with our programs that is not what we focus on. You can lose so many inches and be closer to your goal and not lose a single pound!  This journey is so much more than a number on the scale. My favorite transformations are ones that happen in the mind and the heart. The physical is BONUS! 
I was getting ready to take my measurements and realized both our tape measures were gone. Renn told me he had to tie bad guys up with them and that he was sorry. 🤦‍♀️ We spent 15 minutes trying to find the bad guys... now we get to untie them! HA!💙

Diastasis recti can be the cause of severe back pain after pregnancy. So if you haven’t had your stomach muscles checked out, please do. 
What is it? 
Diastasis recti is the separation of the stomach muscles which occurs during the third trimester of pregnancy. 
In most cases the muscles reconnect after pregnancy but in some cases the muscles do not reconnect or take much longer to reconnect. 
My body has been the home to three larger than average baby boys and unfortunately now is suffering the repercussions.

Those were my so-called hobbies for years after having kids cuz who the hell has time or energy for anything else! But during this family gap year I promised myself I would reconnect with something I loved to do as a kid. Here’s my first drawing from my very first art class. For 2 hours it was me and this bottle of vino. I felt peaceful and for the first time in forever, I reconnected with the girl who I was before kids, husband, career....I was just me. First trimester pilates. During the first trimester the advice is to exercise as per normal. However due to morning sickness and fatigue most of us back off naturally. I have managed to continue walking, swimming and doing some pilates through my teaching, however have reduced this significantly due to my lack of energy and motivation. I have taken my pilates way back to basics. I find being so tall my posture takes a big hit with the curves in my spine becoming excessive very early on. So gentle core recruitment & stability & flexibility is my main focus. Here is a nice and simple set that is appropriate for both pre and postnatal.
Things to think about for the expecting mums: 🤰🏼posture posture posture - think open chest, core recruitment and keeping ribs in check
🤰🏼strong butt - our glutes really stabilise our hips so when we get these working well we will move a lot more safely. 🤰🏼after week 16 avoid lying flat on your back- you can gauge this, you will feel sick and light headed and will generally naturally move when this happens. 🤰🏼watch for pain through lower back and pubic symphasis. If this happens seek advice from your ob or women’s health Physio. Avoid twisting and single leg activities like stairs and lunging. 🤰🏼avoid the heat, this increases our chances of fainting 🤰🏼listen to your body and take it easy 🤰🏼always speak to your dr before starting/continuing  exercise 🤰🏼don’t start a new exercise regime, type or training plan

I bet with all the organisation that goes into preparing for the new bundle of joy, you skipped the most crucial part for your recovery. Diet. And no I dont mean a 'snap back' diet. I mean a nutritional, mind, body, and soul enhancing diet. ⁣ ⁣ Ironically we raise our children on the importance of eating their fruits and veggies, but how much of this information do we digest for ourselves.⁣ ⁣ The food we eat will essentially either fuel us or 'fool' us into fullness.⁣ ⁣ Especially during your postnatal recovery it is vital that the food on our plate is going to aid the recovery.⁣ ⁣ Eat your colours. And it doesnt have to be fancy either. Absolutely craving a sunrise session at the moment. Just to give my mind & soul some space, some fresh air and first light. For me there is nothing quite like it. I must say this pregnancy has really been challenging me. I’m not my usual bright self. I have been so much sicker than I was with my first, my anxiety is at an all time high and I’m so tired that my motivation has been no where to be seen. It is definitely a lot harder with my little man keeping me on my toes and work deadlines that I am determined to stick to. 15 weeks this week and eagerly awaiting this fog to lift. It’s such a happy and exciting time and I just want to embrace that. Til then I just need to be gentle with myself and find some time for some sunrise time.  When did your first trimester fog lift?

There isn’t a one size fits all diet? It shouldn’t be a diet at all! A nutrition plan is all about lots of food.... not counting calories and certainly not drinking shakes! I’ve tried it all and honestly can say- ‘slow and steady wins the race’ ✌🏼

What a lovely day we had celebrating a dear friends baby’s 1st Birthday! I love watching my little ones interact with my best friends children. I can only hope they have the same friendships I have with my friends for nearly 30 years ❤️❤️❤️

Update- 4 months post baby feeling fabulously healthy even though I have had a few cheats this week... I’ve had a@bad week in terms of low energy, low motivation and exhaustion. I’ve had so many conversations this week in regards to me ‘loving’ eating healthy... and ‘loving’ exercise and the gym. I want to do a video on this as it isn’t the case at all!
