Here we are at 2 weeks postpartum tomorrow. 
My body has recovered much quicker this time and I think the main reason is because I didn’t over do it during pregnancy. With Sonny my first baby I was scared of what pregnancy would do to my body so I tried to keep up high standards. I would often force myself to go to the gym, even though I felt like crap. This time I trained roughly 2-3 times a week and very much went on how I felt that day. By no means did I force myself to train, I did as much or as little as I felt like that day. I also ate really well and made sure I got rest when I needed.
Result was that I didn’t have as much swelling/water retention, no colds or infections and by the end I still felt extremely fit and able (for someone whose 9 months pregnant that is!)
Moral of the story: Don’t be afraid that during pregnancy you’ll ‘lose your fitness or lose your body’ Stay active (if you can) train within your limits and listen to your body, it probably knows what it needs better than you do. Do be mindful of what you eat, I think this is really key. I followed a clean diet like I always do. Occasional treats and I definitely I ate more than usual however it was all good nutritious food that my body needed. "I wasn’t ever going to share this photo for so many reasons. I wasn’t going to even post for World Breastfeeding Week for a whole other slew of reasons (I know I’m a day late, what can I say, it’s genetic 😜)! I wasn’t going to share this week mostly because, I’m not nursing. And though I can smile and go about appreciating our everyday- I’m not “okay” with it. Some days I’m desperately sad. Some days I’m hit with this horrendously ugly feeling of failure. I never fully came to terms with being done. I’ve had two breastfeeding journeys in my lifetime and neither was a bit like the other. Im grateful for every moment that we made it, though . I never thought I would share this photo, and to be honest I’m still not the most confident about it. My freshly postpartum body is puffy and exhausted. My hair is greasy. We got a hospital room that almost never had light streaming through the windows. This is one of the first photos ever taken of myself nursing the girls. It actually took 8 days for my milk to come in so what we did was, dry nursing on the nipple off and on, followed by a tube system that filled a nipple shield with formula to simulate nursing. It was a rigorous process that required my husbands help every. Single. Time. So every 2 hours like clockwork we would start the process over - for eight days straight. So while I will mourn for what is no longer a journey for us, I will also feel proud. I will feel grateful. I will feel a bond so strong, regardless of whether I feed my girls from my body or through a bottle. Thank you to @mrskyleeaustin for inspiring me to share this photo !"

Kids being confused as to how they’re brothers or asking why they look so different to their mum... don’t even get me started if anyone asks them whether they’re adopted!!! 👊🏾💥

Lluvia Sage.... your strong will makes up for your teeny tiny build! I’ve never met anyone who I wanted to disagree with less... some days I’ll stand my ground with you, but most days it’s just not worth it. Plus you are one hilarious human so your fun to watch instead!

During our regular 4-6 weeks postpartum check ups at the OBGYN, we are most likely cleared to resume "all activities" which includes fitness activities prior to pregnancy. But yet, Diastasis recti and pelvic floor function is not being assessed during this appointment. -
So, should we really be jumping back into these fitness activities so soon after birth? -
FACT: Our body is still very much still healing at this early postpartum journey. And returning to exercise without knowing the condition of our core & pelvic floor health + not properly rehabbing these essential muscles can lead to setbacks and possible injury. -

I appear to be in holiday mode. I shouldn’t be. I’ve been at work this week (and last week) and we’re not actually going in holiday until October but things like this keep happening. Well, I say “happening”, I keep choosing for them to happen... to eat or drink certain things... Not a huge problem in itself, buuuuut I’m not tracking. Argh! What is wrong with me???! Toddler currently having horrendous nights (what’s new there?!😂) which means all the resolve I felt as I went to bed the night before (“tomorrow will be a better day” seems to be my mantra, on repeat 🙄) vanishes when I get up. This isn’t the first time this has happened on my weight loss journey- far from it; I’m a serial restarter- so I know I’ll find my stride with it again. For now though, just thought I’d post for transparency and honesty purposes. Here we are at 2 weeks postpartum tomorrow. 
My body has recovered much quicker this time and I think the main reason is because I didn’t over do it during pregnancy. With Sonny my first baby I was scared of what pregnancy would do to my body so I tried to keep up high standards. I would often force myself to go to the gym, even though I felt like crap. This time I trained roughly 2-3 times a week and very much went on how I felt that day. By no means did I force myself to train, I did as much or as little as I felt like that day. I also ate really well and made sure I got rest when I needed.
Result was that I didn’t have as much swelling/water retention, no colds or infections and by the end I still felt extremely fit and able (for someone whose 9 months pregnant that is!)
Moral of the story: Don’t be afraid that during pregnancy you’ll ‘lose your fitness or lose your body’ Stay active (if you can) train within your limits and listen to your body, it probably knows what it needs better than you do. Do be mindful of what you eat, I think this is really key. I followed a clean diet like I always do. Occasional treats and I definitely I ate more than usual however it was all good nutritious food that my body needed. 1️⃣ NO, it’s not to early to begin running again. Postnatal recovery is specific to each individual. For me, fortunately I’ve healed well and can begin a moderate impact/ cardio programme again now.

2️⃣ YES, it’s safe to exercise and breastfeed. There are ways to make this manageable but it’s absolutely possible!

3️⃣ IT IS OK to have other passions alongside loving your children! 💯 and no this does not make you self-centred, vain and/or a bad mother.

Ok let’s talk POSTNATAL PROBLEMS. I knew something wasn’t quite right ‘down there’ about a month after I had Jack, and I was correct 💁🏼‍♀ as I was diagnosed with a prolapse - thankfully only a mild one.

Although it came as a bit of a shock (I’m a pilates teacher right, so how could this happen to me?!) I was told by my doctor that it’s pretty common 😮 Plus this is my third baby AND he was an eye watering 9.5 lbs.... so maybe not such a surprise after all!

As this is so common, you may be wondering what you should you do if you have a prolapse? Or how you can avoid getting one?

Well first of all, knowing what I know now, I would recommend ANY woman who’s just had a baby to go and have an internal check up with a women’s health Physio!💯 This will be a much more thorough assessment of how you’re doing postnatally than your GP will give you and trust me, you won’t regret it, even if you don’t have a prolapse!

Secondly you should start your pelvic floor exercises immediately after birth! There’s a great app that I’m using called Squeezy which helps you keep on track ( no this isn’t a paid advertising post) 🤦🏼‍♀️!

What are the BASIC things should I avoid doing DURING pregnancy AND postnatally❓Basically anything that puts added pressure the pelvic floor:

. Picking up heavy loads. So, if you have older kids (like me 🙋🏼‍♀) then as difficult as this may be, TRY and reduce the amount you pick them up as much as possible. This also includes lifting heavy weights whilst working out.

. Limit High impact exercise! This includes running, jumping, horse riding etc. Always think about engaging your pelvic floor muscles when working out and even when you’re just walking.

. Ab exercises’ that include curling the head up and plank exercises, which can all apply a lot of pressure to the pelvic floor.

This week saw the first of the birthdays in our household. In a run of only 6 weeks, my three children and my husband all celebrate a birthday... and mine is only 6 weeks after that! 10 days postpartum: Update.
Exercise wise all I’ve been doing is cardio, between 10 - 20 minutes uphill walks on the treadmill, staying active through the day (when possible) and abdominal and pelvic floor exercises from my post a couple of days ago.
My diet is clean, no calorie restriction as I’m breast feeding. Lots of fresh whole produce, no more than a couple of hours without a snack like a piece of fruit. Lots of fluids to try to flush out my system as I’ll still be holding onto a fair amount of water.
Did a few light exercises today after the treadmill (in my stories) and planning to build on this as I feel able to.
Avoiding all exercises that cause any kind of bulge or strain on my core. Literally the only core I’m really doing is practicing abdominal hollowing both in the gym and as I go about my day.
Started writing my birth story today but I’m struggling to find any time to write it, I’ve usually got a baby on my boob or a toddler screaming at me. Think I need to draught in some grandparent help to give me a bit of time to myself or even just time with Daisy because honestly I’m feeling a bit frazzled today. I’ll get it done soon though as lots of you have been asking how I did it with no pain relief and had such an amazing experience.

Did you co-sleep with your children❓Personally I’m not a fan but equally i’m soooo tired theses days it definitely seems like the ‘easy’ option! Plus Ezra is just so warm and cute I honestly don’t want to put him down. Double 😳😳! Definitely making a rod for my own back!

5 weeks postpartum!🗣🤱

Waktu berjalan begitu cepat, gak terasa sudah 5 minggu pasca aku melahirkan baby K. Berat badan sebelum hamil 46 dan naik 12 kg ketika hamil. Setelah 5 minggu, bb sudah turun 8kg hanya dengan menyusui. Kalo ditanya apakah makannya normal atau sedang melakukan  diet tertentu? Olahraga apa aja? .
Jujur aja aku gak ada diet khusus, yg aku lakuin hanya meng-ASI-hi bayiku. Pola makan dibilang juga gak normal karena aku makan bisa sampai 5 kali sehari(porsi kuli kata orang). Aku juga belum mulai olahraga seperti dulu krn mau cek lebih dulu dengan Obgyn di minggu ke 6 nanti. Yg aku lakuin saat ini  hanya aktif menyusui, bersih2 rumah, ganti popok bayi, jalan kaki dkt pantai, gendong dan timang2 Kalisha, dan itu semua aktifitas yg cukup menguras banyak energi. Kalo dilihat di foto, perutku kelihatan seperti sudah kembali “normal”, tetapi sebenarnya tidak. Perutku masih menggelambir, garis hitam (linea nigra) masih jelas, otot perut sudah hilang, lemah dan lembek. Tentu saja perjalanan masih panjang untuk mendapatkan kembali bentuk badan yg ideal(menurut versi saya loh ya). Tapi pastinya aku tetap posting gmn progress perubahan bentuk tubuhku nanti. Target selanjutnya buat aku pribadi bukan menghilangkan berat badan(weight loss), tapi fokus untuk memperbaiki kondisi2 yg terjadi pasca persalinan. Latihan awal yg akan Saya lakukan nanti akan fokus pada latihan core rehab, pelvic floor recovery dan pelan2 mengembalikan stamina&endurance berolahraga. So today I took my 'before' picture, I didn't think I'd be ready to even think about getting back in to shape so soon but baby had made things really easy for us (he's still mainly sleeping and feeding!) and it's been nice getting back in to eating well and moving more. I'm sure he'll change soon and we'll get more sleepless nights and unpredictable days but for now it's nice getting back to my old routine, I'm SO ready to set some goals and get fit and strong again. I'm going to take it slow, fuel my body right (no starving or cutting out any foods) and focus on weight training when I've got the all clear from GP, until then it will be gentle walks and focus on good nutrition.  2 years before I turn 40 and I'm going to be in the best shape possible before then!! .

Something you won’t know about me. When I had my second baby in 2013 I had an epidural. This went wrong, it ended up causing long lasting numbness & a hole in my spine causing fluid to leak out. I had this repaired but it then became infected. It took over 12 months to even walk a distance without being in agony, I still can’t hold a child for long times or use a baby carrier without pain. This caused me a lot of anxiety at the gym, especially dead lifts & rack squats. It’s only been in recent weeks that I’ve begun slowly upping the weights. Aiming to slowly strengthen my back. This week I hit a personal best, 40kg dead lift, I know it’s not a lot to most of you but it means a hell of a lot too me. .
Don’t let bad things define your life, sometimes we have set backs but it’s all part of our own unique journey. .

I use splice to crop my videos and I'm bored of the audio options now so most of my videos lately have been silent. I personally don't put the sound on when I watch other people's videos so I'm not fussed about having sound on mine. We’re at the airport ✈️
I am quite relieved, the last few months have been incredibly hectic and I truly need a break ... I also need a digital detox and there is no internet where I am going!! How often do we really rest, especially these days when we always have the world at out finger tips. I do think technology is amazing and being some what a technophobe I have begun to embrace it and believe in my ability to work things out on my own 🙈 ... I no longer hit the laptop to get it to work... because apparently that doesn’t help. I am still someone who likes the tangible, I prefer to hold the book, feel the clothes and attend the physical class ... but it is a wonderful thing to be able to connect with people far and wide and my business wouldn’t be what it is without it. +

So here is the ‘end’ pic, when I say ‘end’ I refer to where I am now, at the end of my current training program- the postnatal recovery is complete; just shy of a year. Every journey is different and every time scale is different but what is true for every woman is that if you have patience, be consistent and build a strong foundation you can recover from pregnancy, birth and be stronger for it. Where to next? I’m going to have a break and then get into my first Female Training Program... more on that when I get back. Bye for now! See you in 7 days ... 7 months postpartum v 2 weeks postpartum

So I'm finally feeling a lot happier about my body

I do however want to gain a lot more muscle, but I'm getting there 
2 weeks postpartum was saggy flat bum rounded tummy no muscle in my legs what so ever 
Now 7 months on, bum is lifted and tighter, tummy is flatter and legs are finally getting some shape 😁

Has it been tough? YES

But I haven't punished myself with training as I've been too tired and emotional 
I've taken baby steps

My food hasn't been perfect I've had bad times when exhausted wanting to eat treats 
But I've done my best and lived in moderation probably 70% of the time 
So long way off where I want to be bit unhappy with the progress so far

The pic on the left was a year ago when I was 38 weeks pregnant and sooo over it! The heat, the canckles, the pelvic girdle pain, not being able to enjoy a drink. The pic on the right is today ahhh feels so good to be able to actually enjoy this summer. For all you heavily pregnant Mamas out there I feel your pain especially in this heat.
