@sianlou89 started classes with me after having her second baby within a 16 month period in August this year. The saying you can’t out train a bad diet has never been more apparent and Sian is living proof of this. ☺️
Although Sian started back at classes in August, she then ended up on hospital with a serious neck injury (not from classes 😋😋 this was a carrying too many children at one time injury 😋) which meant she could not train throughout half of September and October. Sian however didnt let this sabotage her and we kept on tracking her calorie intake, even when restricted to her bed for a couple of weeks and we therefore still managed to keep her weight coming down even when activity levels were pretty much non existent. The truth is if your goal is dropping body fat, ofcourse exercising helps because it puts you in more of a calorie deficit, because your activity is higher, but it will only work if your nutrition is on point too. You can train and train and train but if you are not in a deficit (which often happens the more you train because your appetite increases) then your body fat levels will not come down 😬
Nutrition is hard because in order to train you often only need to find motivation for one or so hours of the day, but for nutrition you need motivation for 24 hours of the day! It is completely normal to find the food side of things harder than the training. BUT Sian is proof that with consistency in your nutrition your body fat levels will drop and you will keep getting closer to your dream bod ❤️

Time for some truth...
Na 2 maanden ziet mijn buik er alweer redelijk goed uit (vind ik), maar het is zeker nog niet wat het was en ik weet ook niet of dat überhaupt gaat gebeuren. Ik mag pas net weer sporten en heb daar eerlijk gezegd nauwelijks tijd voor (en in de avond ben ik gewoon gesloopt en wil ik alleen maar slapen 😅🙈). Met de buikspieren ben ik erg voorzichtig want het is ook nog steeds een erg gevoelig daar. Aan het einde van mijn zwangerschap voelde ik dit ook, het stond ZO strak dat het pijn deed en jeukte. Ook zag ik toen de beschadigingen rond mijn navelpiercing plek komen. Nadat de meisjes eruit zijn gekomen lijkt het alsof er nog wat ‘schade’ bij is gekomen, but so be it. Ik heb 2 prachtige meisjes gekregen! 😍Toch vraag ik me af of het nog ‘goed komt’ of dat ik dit de rest van mijn leven zal meedragen, als ‘bewijs’ 😉 Zijn er andere mama’s met schade en hoe gaan of gingen jullie hier mee om? Vond je het moeilijk, of ben je juist trots? (Ook al was dat niet meteen misschien) Ben erg benieuwd!
Having babies totally changes the construct of your body and it’s far more than stretch marks... When I became pregnant with Abby I began to notice many changes to my body... apart from the whole growing-a-baby thing!! I gained a lot of weight (considering how little I ate due to illness), became a Dalmatian (I think I now have a mole on EVERY inch of my body!), my skin pigmentation has darkened, my feet (hoof) grew out of my Size 11 shoe collection and I even got age spots - what?? 😫
A lot of the above has returned to normal now. Except for the weight and shoe size! All... in...good...time! 😊
The one thing I wasn’t expecting was to have side burns!!! I recently caught a side profile of myself and I was shocked and I see fluffy baby hair growing. 😳 Take a look, they’re as long as my earlobes!!! 👂🏾 Even with the huge volume of hair that I loose EVERY. SINGLE. DAY I can’t believe the lengths of these babies! Wow! 🤪

So, this is what I did this week. I noticed I’d been using between 4-500calories a day on empty food. Like crisps with lunch, chocolate in the evening, biscuits as a snack. I decided to swap those snacks with bigger meals or more nutrient dense things to eat. I’ve got a plan for half a takeaway today (I’m cooking mayflower curry and having Chinese spring rolls with it) and I’m having some chocolate today. But it’s all counted. I haven’t felt like I’ve missed out this week and it’s helped me to make better food choices. And I lost 3lb. So I will keep this up another week. You know how many times I hear people say that they don’t like to workout or they don’t need or have to? A LOT. .
You know what sister...I don’t always “like” it either...but I do it for THESE MOMENTS right here. .
If it wasn’t for the workouts I do, I wouldn’t be able to run 10 laps with my daughter today at her very first Jog-A-Thon.
I do it so I can do active things like this with my kids.
I do it so I’m not out of breath when I run with them.
I do it to show them that staying active will make life so much easier and sweeter.
I do it bc I know it makes me a better mama. 💗💙
What an amazing day filled with so many sweet moments, and I’m so very grateful that I was able to run with her rather than watching her on the sidelines 🏃♀️ .

This week has been a challenging week for me (medically and mentally). I’m really trying not to let all my medical issues get to me but it’s been tough. Living with a lot of different chronic issues takes a toll on me (mentally). But I am reminding myself to find the good in every day.
Thankfully, my kiddos never fail to make my laugh everyday 💙

These are things that these women are doing every single day! It’s not everyday that you meet and find a tribe of women like this. And I mean really, who doesn’t need a type of community like this!? 🤷🏼♀️
3 years ago, a newly stay-at-home mom I had no idea that this type of community even existed! So unbelievably happy that I have been blessed by this community of women and this opportunity. It has provided so much joy, personal growth, accountability, and transformation that I never even knew I needed. So excited to spend the rest of the weekend dedicated to catching up and spending some qt with these girlfriends!
THE CHROMOSOME TEST RESULTS CAME BACK FOR EASTYN to see if she had Turners Syndrome & it was NORMAL!!!❤️🎉😍💃🏼🕺🏻. I cried tears of joy when the doctor told us & Paul hugged her! This cloud of worry has been hanging over our family for 7 months (11 wks blood work told us she probably had it) & the cloud is now GONE. Though we had other tests done to check & nothing else supported the blood work which kept us positive we still wouldn’t know for sure until she was born. We could have done an amniocentesis to know faster but I did not plan to abort the baby no matter the results & the rate for miscarriage in an amniocentesis was too high for our liking so I waited until she was born to check her blood again. We prayed a lot for her and tried to prepare ourselves for anything knowing God knew what’s best for us and her. She still has the hole in her heart but we are just praying it closes on its own as the doctors have said is common to happen .
You guys watched me through this & allowed me to share my concerns, fears & hopes with you in many posts I poured out my feelings many times & and did again on my stories just now & the amount of comments, messages & emails I received offering prayers, scripture, and thoughts of our baby girl blow my mind. I would go back & read them when I felt discouragement over the months. You helped lift my faith when I felt I couldn’t hold it on my own many times.
My heart is also very sensitive right now to those mothers who don’t have this outcome. Know that I have the greatest respect for you. I have learned so much about faith, peace and love in this process and empathy for others.
Thank you guys for being on my pregnancy journey on every step to these test results.

I remember I literally used to dread trying clothes on because I hated the size I had to bring in to the fitting room. And then I hated the way everything looked and fit 😔
And that wasn’t even that long ago guys. I get it. I’ve been there.
To be able to walk into a fitting room today and be excited about the clothes I had to try on - that was a pretty damn good feeling. To LIKE almost everything but to buy the ones I actually loved - super awesome.
Sometimes it’s the little victories that mean the most in this journey 😊❤️

👆🏼7 weeks post baby #2 and feeling more comfortable in my skin than I was when I stood on the WORLD stage in 2014 🌎 🏆 Big statement to make I know... no, I don’t “look” better, but I FEEL better! I feel just SO appreciative of my body and just in awe of what our bodies can do!! Just 7 weeks ago I had a baby!!! Whaatttt!!!! I no longer pick on myself or my body (like I did when I was starting out in the fitness industry) and I am far nicer to myself. I still love to feel fit and strong (#badass Grace will be on the comeback) but I have no pressure on myself to rush it. ************************************************************
I am a fair bit smaller than I was after my first babe, 🚨 but I am ABSOLUTELY NOT here to brag. Not at all. Remember I have only been “dieting” for 1.5 weeks (started at almost 6 weeks post baby) and my exercise has consisted of just 3-4 outdoor pram walks per week & only two “real” workouts from my Post Baby book 📖 so far. I am by no means rushing. I hate to sound like a broken record but I am so extremely passionate about making sure my message is clear. Slow and steady post partum is the key 🐢 There are too many mummas out there broadcasting extreme weight loss methods 😥 That will never be me! I’ve eaten dessert everyday for 3 years and plan to continue 😂🙌🏼 My “weight loss” is purely a result of YEARS of being dedicated to my wellbeing 💪🏼 and remaining healthy whilst pregnant. (I did gain a healthy 14kg whilst pregnant) 👏🏼 ************************************************************
The essay aside.... I am damn proud and super greatful for my body🤰🏼 and I love it more now than I did when I was a competitive bodybuilder and a world class one at that 🙊 but it is true, purely because I appreciate my bod so much more now 🙏🏼 My mindset is completely different 🧚♀️

I was in between contractions in the photo on the left and wanted one final picture of my pregnant belly. The photo on the right was taken this morning. I'm in awe of the female body and the AMAZING things it is able to do! You grow a tiny, perfect human inside for 9 months and bring new life into the world! Then the body is able to heal itself (rather quickly considering what it went through) and immediately gets to work creating the nourishment baby needs to healthfully grow! I've never been more proud of my body and what it is capable of. 🤩🤰🤱👼🏋️♀️💪 .

Working out doesn’t have to be difficult! I love that I can fit in my workouts first thing in the morning, in my living room! (Behind that blue couch 🛋) It’s a must for me. .
There was no way I was paying for a gym membership and going when Matt gets home from work. He’s gone for 80% of our day, and I was going to waste the only shred of family time during the workweek at the gym? No way. 🙅🏼♀️
And trying to manage getting Ty to/from school, packing both girls up to go to a gym daycare while trying to dodge the naptime schedule and do all of the errands and appointments we have? Yeah right. 🙄

So for the first time in a few days I actually FELT like working out 👏🏻🎉only to realize as I was changing....i forgot socks!!!! 😭
So you know what I did...? I put my sneakers on and worked out anyway! 😬 granted, it was a very quick 15 minute workout because I couldn’t stand the feeling of not wearing socks but it was better than nothing! •

The girl on the left was eating fast food multiple times a week, drinking pop daily, either totally skipped her workouts or went on the treadmill for 2+ hours at a time, and worst of all? Talked down about herself 🙅🏼♀️
The girl on the right is a mommy, makes healthy choices, indulges in treats in moderation, workouts are 30 min or less (weights + cardio), and feels HAPPY & confident in her own skin ✨

My perception of l being a SAHM was completely wrong. I thought they had so much time to have lunch dates and mani/pedis, sleep in, keep a super clean house, etc.! .
Then I became one and I had a major eye opening as NONE of that stuff was true. And probably the thing that I missed the most was having quality adult conversations! .
Becoming a coach has allowed me to fill that void and make some of the BEST FRIENDS from all over the world. 👯♀️
