Dinner this night is a glass of PINOT GRIGIO and an entrée of DUCK LEG CONFIT (in the second photo) from the R Lounge at Two Times Square.
Am highlighting the glass of wine instead of the duck only because I like how the lights of Times Square can be seen from the windows and through the wine glass beside the glow of the candlelight.
The Duck Leg Confit with Braised Cherries, Roasted Garlic, Red Pepper Broccolini and Port Wine Reduction to my surprise was not chewy at all and almost had a fall off the bone feel with a rich semi sweet flavor.
The R Lounge is located in the sky lobby of the Renaissance New York Times Square hotel.
We had Strawberry Rhubarb pie for Pi Day yesterday. Along side some vanilla ice cream, drizzled with port wine reduction; delicious! We were gifted the excellent port almost two years ago, moved across the country with it, and finally cracked 'er yesterday. If we knew it was going to be this good we wouldn't have waited this long! Pork tenderloin with a port wine reduction! I wish I had better lighting. I don’t do a lot of meat and potato dishes but this is not only tasty, the sauce is very pretty. If your serving this to friends put the reduction in a pretty bowl and let them dish it themselves. So they don’t loose the drama!
