Another one of my favorite Porsches from @rennsportreunion. You might think of the Prius when someone mentions hybrid vehicles (unless of course you were around for hybrids.jp or honda-perf.org!) but this Porsche from 2010 is what you should think of when it comes to modern hybrids. 486 bwhp from the 4-liter flat six engine driving the rear wheels and two 60kW electric motors driving the front and instead of heavy batteries, it uses a generator which is charged by the brakes. When we saw this car run in 2011 it started from last place and still finished ahead of the entire GT class at Laguna Seca Raceway!
Also did you know that Ferdinand Porsche developed the very first hybrid vehicle in 1900 (not a typo!) Google: Lohner-Porsche Semper Vivus for the story.
