Took this happy selfie on my first trip traveling solo. This was such an empowering experience and one that I love sharing with my South Asian gals especially! Our culture and parents often pressure us into staying home and fearing the world. I’m lucky to have parents that empower me to be independent, but it wasn’t always that way. They had a learning curve too. That process was difficult, but not impossible! To my fellow brown ladies seeking adventure: it is out there, and it is yours for the taking.
These pictures were taken 2years ago when My dad joined us on our travels. Walking through an ancient roman city, Pompei that was buried under volcanic ash 79AD. Very eerie when you see the people and animals of that time covered in ash and still very much intact! We even tackled hiking up the volcano, Mount Vesuvius . My dad even managed to walk up with us! Well, I just about managed! When you hike 1,281m above sea level, the vertigo starts to kick in! Not good when you are scared of heights too😳🤪 #pompeii#mountvesuvius#pompei

The Villa Imperiale is a suburban villa of the first century AD. located just outside the walls of Pompeii, near Porta Marina. In the Villa Imperiale there are suggestive recreations of domestic environments typical of the daily life of the Pompeii.
Among these you can admire the large dining room, the triclinium, with triclinium beds, plates, oil lamps and frescoes of the myth of Ariadne, Theseus and the Minotaur, the flight of Daedalus and the fall of Icarus.
The triclinium was so called because it generally housed three beds arranged in such a way that the guests could take the food from the central table and from the side service tables.

[WARNING:THIS IS LONG]-
As we know, the Wild World era will soon come to an end as we step into the next chapter of Bastille which is ‘Doom Days’. Wild World is definitely a fucking awesome album. With songs written about the troubles humanity face in their everyday lives to religious and non-religious cultures this album highlights the current world issues we face today. What makes this different from other albums is the lyrics. Hardly anyone nowadays writes about political issues, instead the write about sex, money, love and heartbreak. But that’s what makes Bastille stand out. With WWCOMMS being part of the whole Wild World era I wanted to address the fact that this media campaign has definitely made us be able to speak our minds on so called issues without being judged. As a community, we respect each other’s decisions and for once I felt like my voice could be heard. Wild World includes so many amazing bops, for instance ‘Shame’, ‘Warmth’ and ‘Good Grief’ are a few of my favourite tunes from the album. As a whole, this era has got me thinking more about world wide problems instead of associating feelings with love and angst. Thank you so much @bastilledan @woodybangsthedrums @williamfarquarson @kjesimmons for creating such a powerful, incredible and upbeat album for such a melancholy, disappointing world. This may be the end of the Wild World era, but it certainly isn’t the end for Wild World overall. Bring on Doom Days🖤-
[A lot of people will say that the era ended ages ago, but it’s still out there]
