Let me say it again, I LOVE Koenji! Besides the amazing and random street art, it has a retro pop art vibe balanced with it’s own Japanese culture. It’s truly unique. Lots of vintage shops line the shopping street, there’s an underground metal garage band scene, and there’s lots of tiny (3-6 person) izakaya under the train tracks. Truly unique! ❤️
Sharing more photos from Portland because it was SUCH an amazing weekend. The crew is on our own for training for a while but we've got one more group training weekend planned for January. The perfect time to practice our cold weather hiking and to test out all of our layers! 📸: @travelfearlessly @km_mac17 and @fatgirlforthefitsoul #curvykilicrew#portlandoregon#optoutside
Happy 28th Birthday to me! 27 was such a hectic and transformative year for me. I’ve experienced so many things this year - I left a long relationship, traveled to some amazing places, made new friends, fortified old relationships, improved and took on new duties at work, and pushed myself to limits that I never thought I would before.
Here’s to that hectic year paving the way to 28. May I continue to grow in to a woman than makes my momma proud 💕
We took this picture as we were passing from our car enroute to Chaweng, and I asked our super friendly driver to stop for a while for me to take this image, and to just soak in the moment. Sunny skies, a faint breeze through the leaves, that waft of the sea in the distance and sounds of nature.
If my posts seem not to reflect my advocacy and blog at the moment, forgive me but it’s the end of the year and momma is just enjoying the end of the year feeling. That fleeting feeling that stays until the clock strikes midnight on Jan 1 ☺️ #samui#travel#nature#poc#plussizetravel#igsg#serenity
Maybe it’s that winter lull or maybe that I’m completely dry of PTO, but I have serious adventure nostalgia. I am itching to be in baggage claim, ready to run out the sliding doors.
One of my absolute favorite adventures was in Kenya, specifically with the @dswt in Nairobi where they take in orphaned elephants and begin the long journey back to the wild. These babies are so loving and just want a warm body to cuddle next to. Their curious trunks and playful shoves warm your heart faster than the sun. If you ever get an opportunity to get some baby elephant love, make sure you get it from the David Sheldrick Wildlife Foundation. And definitely make sure you show them some love too and adopt an elephant. Good work doesn’t come cheap, and they deserve every penny they get.
I LOVE Cat Cafe Temari no Ouchi in #kichijoji ! This whole place looks like it’s right out of a #Ghibli movie! Reservations are recommended but, @katekunst and I got lucky and walked right in! You can enjoy some delicious hot drinks and pet lots of adorable kitties - there’s even a booklet with all of their pictures, names, and personalities 😻
Confession: I'm a perpetual worrier. I worry all the time, about all sorts of stuff, am I doing enough at work, am I nice enough to Sam, am I being a good friend, a good daughter? And then I worry about silly stuff on here, like do the people who know me irl think my pictures make me a bit of a wanker and then to other people who follow me that my pics aren't good enough to be like "Insta worthy" and really I shouldn't be sweating about the small stuff. Instagram and messing about in front of the camera has done wonders for my confidence.
Ten years ago I cried and stormed out of a hotel because someone took my photo, pictures of me as a teenager and young adult are scarce and now I'll happily stand in front of a camera (as long as I have control of the photo afterwards and I stand far away lol) so yeah. Less worrying about something that's supposed to be fun!!
MAJESTIC. That’s the perfect word to describe Segovia - and me in the picture, duh 😂 This is me in front of my new home, the Alcazar. There’s a moat and a bridge and gorgeous views! What more could you ask for?
Plus - Segovia is just under an hour away, the perfect day trip from Madrid!
Having some drinks and food with friends or family at a café is what I love most in my daily life. And that's also one thing I loved to do in Korea! There are so many great cafés and I love Korea's "café culture" 💖 Do you like to go out for some coffee and food as well? ☺️
My sweet husband! In this pic we’re on our way back to #Tokyo from a few days at an #onsen in #Minakami#Gunma . Don’t we look refreshed?! ♨️❤️ I love this man so much and his “go with the flow” approach to my wanderlust! Wherever I want to go he says, “If you can plan it. We can do it.” Im so happy to enjoy a lifetime of travels with him 😍
What a stunning way to spend a morning. I was wrangling 3 kids, but imagined myself relaxing with a picnic and a good book soaking in the amazingness of the Imperial Palace East Gardens. #plussizeadventure
There’s a beautiful temple right in the middle of #Shinjuku ! It’s pretty large and we came across it by accident! After a long day of walking around #Tokyo it’s nice to have a place to sit and be away from the madness! ⛩😍 There are some festivals here throughout the year I heard but, we were there when it was quiet (even if it was windy!)
Coffee for the hubby, strawberry milk tea for me, and mermaid cake to share. That was breakfast in Korea one day 🧜🏼♀️ Do you also eat unhealthy for breakfast when you travel? I always want to try everything 🙈💕
My Chinese zodiac animal is a tiger so thought I should pose with this lad. The Hin Bus Depot pop up market was fantastic, full of hand made crafts by locals, I bought some banging earrings from @glitterydaisyy_handmade #hinbusdepot#hinbusdepotsundaypopupmarket
