With a few exceptions like being away for work, every Fathers Day for the last 19 years, I tend to the 25 ft x 50 foot planter that is the entrance to my small neighborhood. I trim the trees with a hand shears, and have removed a ton of garbage bushes.
Like years past, I'll tend to it two more times before winter comes. It belongs to no one, not the Township, nor do we have a homeowner's association. So I took responsibility for it.
Years ago when my older daughter was a teenager, she bought and planted the ground cover flowers. I've split them year after year to where they're finally on their own, and spreading out nicely.
