~ throw back to the time at the yoga ashram. it was one of the best decisions I made during my life so far. being with like minded people, completely focused on one goal and experiencing many moments of just being still and taking the time to silence the mind. with just very limited WiFi access, you have so much time to come back to yourself and to find out what’s truly important in life. nowadays we tend to stress over things that are actually so insignificant. I mean, just ask yourself the question; will this matter in 5 years time? if it won’t, don’t spend more than 5 minutes worrying or even thinking about it. in the end, everything will work out just fine. just follow your intuition and have faith. you’ll get there. 🕊
overall, I just can’t wait to experience the ashram life again in 2 months: volunteering in India at a 200h yoga teacher training @arhantayoga. 🦋

I just thought to share this with you. For those of you who are ordering Hnina online (www.hninagourmet.com) you know how every packaging that leaves our kitchen is packaged with care and major protection. One of our clients ordered a few boxes and within a few minutes being on the floor outside, it got invaded with squirrels. Do you really think that they would smell the processed sugary chocolates? They smelled the goodness and reached out to it because they knew food and dense nutrients plant food was in there. They just had the time to eat 3 truffles! Hnina is approved by Squirrels!! #livefood#sproutednuts#rawcacao#rawvegan#paleo#compostablepackaging#sustainability#cleaneats#cleanchocolate

Yesterday I tried these awesome kelp noodles that I’ve had in my fridge for a couple of weeks 😬 I guess I was subconsciously scared to use them 😂 They turned out to be pretty delicious in this cold noodle salad with the addition of my favorite peanut ginger dressing. The texture of those noodles was pretty interesting when I tried them straight out of the package. They were really crunchy but with the texture of a cooked noodle....🤷🏼♀️ Either way, they worked well in this dish 👌🏼☺️ Have a great weekend guys! 😘
Check out my story to see what these noodles looked like in the package 😚
1/2 package of kelp noodles (I used @kelp_noodles brand)
1 small carrot, shredded
1/2 cucumber, sliced
1/4 bell pepper, sliced
1/2 cup of shredded purple cabbage
a handful of chopped fresh cilantro
1 scallion, chopped
crushed peanuts for garnish
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and toss with half of the peanut sauce. Save the rest to use as salad dressing or dipping sauce for some summer rolls 😁Serve and enjoy 😊
PEANUT GINGER SAUCE
1/4 cup smooth peanut butter
1/2 inch fresh ginger, peeled
1 large garlic clove
3-5 dates (or use 3-4 Tbsp maple syrup/agave)
3 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp lime juice
1/3 cup water (or more if needed)
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend on the highest speed until the sauce is smooth. .

15/24 🎄 FLAXSEED
For centuries, flax seeds have been prized for their health-protective properties.
In fact, Charles the Great ordered his subjects to eat flax seeds for their health. So it's no wonder they acquired the name Linum usitatissimum, meaning "the most useful."
My top ten health benefits:
1. A study involving 3638 people found that those who ate more ALA (flaxseeds are a rich source of alpha-linolenic acid ALA) had a lower risk of heart attack than those who consumed less ALA
2. Flax Seeds Are a Rich Source of Lignans, Which May Reduce Cancer Risk
3. With so much fiber packed in each tiny seed, adding flax seeds to your diet promotes regular bowel movements and can improve your digestive health.
4. According to a study with people with diabetes found that taking 1 tablespoon of flaxseed powder daily for one month resulted in a 12% increase on „good“ hdl cholesterol
5. Flaxseed have been proven to lower blood pressure and are especially helpful for those with high blood pressure
6. Flaxseed are a good source of plant-based protein and can be an alternative protein source for people who do not eat meat
7. Flax seeds may lower blood sugar due to their insoluble fiber content. They can be a beneficial addition to the diet of people with diabetes
8. Flax seeds keep you full for longer and may help you manage your weight by controlling your appetite
9. Flax seeds are versatile can be easily added to your daily diet. There are a variety of recipes you can try
10. They taste good 😉
So guys, don’t forget to grind your flax otherwise they will oxidize (not as much as some people claim no worries) and you will lose some of the benefits.
Have a great Saturday!
Drink break! During the colder months these succulent babies focus more on their roots than their petals, which means they get thirsty every once in a while (and hungry!) Through experience, I’ve learned that fatter petals mean the succulent needs water less often than thin petals, because the thick ones hold more water longer. I usually wait until the bottom petals start to look shriveled or wrinkled to water my succs. I’ve learned the best way to water these tricksters is to soak the soil (pour water slowly), wait a minute for it to drain, and soak it again. Then let the soil dry out completely before watering again. It’s better to underwater than over, even tho both could harm the plant. It took some years to get an understanding of these beauties. The best teacher is hands on experience! Also, a little cacti food every few months for some nutrients and a little color vibrancy. These little green friends keep things lovely and lively around here during the darker days. 💚
