pumpkin chia pudding | yooooo also a breakfast fave. I wasn’t too fond of chia pudding until one day I decided to mix in pumpkin purée with coconut milk... GAME CHANGER. no added sweeteners!! the squash we get here is so naturally sweet that even the paleo pumpkin pie I made yesterday tasted a little too sweet for me. 🙊 but I love chia pudding because I can prep it the night before then add the toppings in the morning - super easy for when I don’t have a lot of time!
pumpkin chia pudding (coconut milk, chia seeds, homemade pumpkin purée, spices) topped with an apple sautéed with cloves + cinnamon, pumpkin seeds, cashews, and peanut butter
These yummy 😋 ice cream squares were a big hit at our home so easy and very simple ingredients to make your whole family will love it 💕💕💕💕💕💕 In an electric mixer mix 3-4 frozen bananas with coconut milk and a teaspoon of vanilla bean paste or pure vanilla extract, place the banana smoothie mix in parchment paper lined pan to make it easy to remove once frozen, even out the top and freeze for at least 2 hours. Once frozen remove from the freezer and pan and cut into squares. In a microwave oven melt semisweet 60% chocolate chips with a tablespoon of coconut oil for about 30-40 seconds and mix well to allow all the chocolate pieces to melt and dip the banana smoothie squares into the melted chocolate to until all sides are covered and remove quickly and in a separate plate top with organic unsweetened shredded coconuts before the chocolate solidifies and freeze again until you’re ready to enjoy 😊
December in California, doesn't get better than this! Spending a few days with my soul sister Shanti @lettuceflow 🌟🌟🌟 .
It's been two weeks since her and her family have been able to return to their home after the out of control fires here ! Driving around it's surreal to see whole areas/ homes literally burnt into ashes. It's a very real threat in an area like LA that is getting more dry every year. .
Our time together has been a gift. When we meet it's an endless sharing of our own discoveries through our practice and new teachings from our teachers. .
Kirtan, yoga flowing, beach and sun, Kundalini, fresh food from the garden, cold dips... mmm feeling full and grateful for our friendship. You are an inspiration 🌟🌟🌟
My next stop for ramen is Afuri. I’ve tried their Hazelnut broth before and really liked it, but I think place has a huge issue with broth to noodle ratio. They could do with adding a few more splashes of broth. This here is the truffle miso and I was not a huge fan. Missing umami flavor, a bit bland, and not enough toppings. I don’t feel like I’m getting the best bang for my buck here! However, their cocktails were crazy good! This is the shiso cocktail and omg, it tastes just like shiso!!! I didn’t think it was going to taste so much like it and was shook! All in all, ramen was a huge miss but their drinks are 👍🏼🍸🍹
Although I wish I could go surfing right now, Vancouver has turned me into a super productive human being 🤷♀️ maybe its because I’m not tired from surfing all the time 🤦♀️

You don't have to wait until January to live your best life.
Our Movement is a clear path towards a results-based solution.
The Bible says that faith comes by hearing!
Our message needs to be repeated until people began to become thinkers again and not just followers.
Join us on this journey of living a life with fewer regrets.
Today marks 8 years of love, friendship, partnership, and mainly, laughter.
I cannot believe it has been 8 years!!! Excuse us while we celebrate by eating our weight in delicious vegan food, hike, and laugh some more.
My dearest Tomer. You have been there in the darkest moments, as I cried myself to sleep, walked to the police station, to meet the man who raped me, and as you had to put me in the shower because I wasn't functioning at all. As we almost broke up for real once (but let's face it, that will never happen), as my heart hurt so heavily.
You have been there also at the happiest times. When Lola found us at the park, at 2 weeks old, walked (barely) after us. When we clapped our hands like 2 idiots when she took her first poop. When we fed her through a tiny syringe and she was so hungry that she sucked all the food out without us having to press on it. When we laughed like crazy at every possible joke (mainly the ones you make with a straight face). When we made up 1,000 names for each other. When you gave me your chocolate because you "don't like chocolate" (what a lie I fell for...) When I insisted on going to our honeymoon in Hawaii with my parents.
When we hiked every possible trail while eating unimaginable amounts of fruit. When we decided to go vegan 💗
I love you so much, and cannot imagine at all what life could look like without you. Thank you for always letting me be ME and loving me so unconditionally while still living independent lives and supporting each other in all of our heart's desires.
You are the only man I could ever love. I adore you. Even though you are the most annoying human ever 😜 (I had to. This was getting way too cheesy for me).
Iron Deficiency is NOT just a vegan issue:
According to Food Revolution, from 2014 to 2018, there has been a WHOPPING 600% Increase in people who identify as vegans in the United States. It was estimated by research firm Global Data, that only 1% of consumers claimed to be vegan in 2014, which has grown to about 6% today (2018). The increase is great, but six percent is still SIX percent.
So, who cares? Well there's two MAJOR misconceptions revolving around iron deficiency being a "VEGAN ISSUE". According to an article the World Health Organization, titled "Worldwide Prevalence of Anaemia": Iron Deficiency is the top nutritional disorder in the world.
Research suggests that as much as 80% of people in the world don't have enough iron in their bodies and approximately 30% of people have anemia due to prolonged deficiency.
Doesn't sound like much of a vegan problem anymore, does it?
Did you know that just one ounce of Spirulina provides almost half of your daily requirements? It's also rich in essential amino acids, iron, protein, and Vitamins B,C,D and E. Alongside Spirulina, Lentils and Spinach contain 37% and 20% respectfully, per serving. (CREDIT: HealthLine)

Healthier Key Lime Bars .
~~~ Ingredients ~~~ .
● ¾ cup almond flour
● 3 tablespoons coconut oil
● 3 tablespoons maple syrup .
● ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
● 1 pinch salt
● 14 oz cans of coconut milk, chilled overnight
● ½ cup lime juice, from about 2 limes
● ⅓ cup maple syrup
● 2 limes, zested
~~~ Preparation ~~~ .
1- Line an 8-inch (20 cm) square baking dish with parchment paper to hang over the edges.
2- Make the crust: in a medium bowl, combine the almond flour, coconut oil, maple syrup, cinnamon, and salt. Mix with a spatula until smooth.
3- Transfer the crust to the baking dish. Use a spatula to smooth the crust into a thin, even layer covering the bottom of the pan. Set aside.
4- Make the filling: open the cans of coconut milk and use a spoon to scoop the thick cream at the top of the can into a medium bowl. Set aside the remaining liquid for another use, such as in smoothies, soups, or sauces.
5- Beat the coconut cream with a hand mixer until very fluffy, about 5 minutes.
6- Add the lime juice and maple syrup. Continue to beat until smooth and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
7- Pour the filling over the crust and use a spatula to smooth out the top.
8- Top with the lime zest.
9- Freeze for at least 2 hours, until the filling has set.
10- Grab the parchment on both sides and lift the frozen bar from the baking dish. You may need to use a knife to release the edges or turn the dish upside down on a cutting board and tap on the bottom to release the block.
11- Quickly cut the block into 16 2-inch (5-cm) square bars.

Lately, one of my favorite places to take Alaina to for lunch is @modpizza 🍕🥗 I really love how they cater to vegans with their plethora of veggie toppings and dairy free cheese. They also have vegan gluten free pizza crusts if you are gluten intolerant. 🌄
Do you ever have those moments where you just sit back, take in your surroundings, smile and just think "Wow, I'm so grateful..." 🙏 Happy Saturday IG!
Finally! It's been a minute since I've had a moment to settle down take to take a nice foodie pic of my meal 🤯. We're finally completely moved into our forever home and it feels great! 🤗🙏🏡 Feeling so grateful towards life. Today, @hankpnw and I finished moving the last of our boxes from storage to our new garage and now all that's left is just unpacking these boxes and finding a new home for our essentials 🤷♀️
I made a simple vegan stew to eat because it's easy and delicious imo and paired that with a slice of toasted organic sprouted grain bread. Yum 🤤 I still need to figure out where I'm going to set up a new photography corner in our home. The husband is currently tinkering with his motorcycle in the garage and Alaina is upstairs playing in her room 😌 Life is good 💆♀️
