Do you write down daily affirmations?
There is something magical that happens when we write. We are able to access a part of our consciousness which usually is not able to be heard. It is that small, still voice inside of us that have been here all along, we just rarely take the time to ask it questions and listen to the answers. I love how peaceful and accomplished I feel after writing my affirmations. Affirmations always have a way of making me feel more present. A lot of times, I will go back to the previous day’s entry and have more clarity around my feelings.
This daily practice of writing down affirmations and repeating them throughout the day is something we encourage all of our love campers to take up during our 4-week keto plant-based lifestyle program. Our next live (online) camp starts October 1st for our Fall session. Don't want to wait that long to get started? You can join our summer session with all the coaching video recordings from that session and start today. Our live version means just that - you join us and our fall participants live, with a new inspirational email delivered to your inbox each morning and a live coaching call with @rawchefelainalove and our team every Monday. Both courses have daily keto nutrition lessons, recipe videos, yoga classes, meditations, and lifestyle techniques. How are you taking care of your body and soul this month? Details in bio. PM us anytime! We are here to help make those affirmations a reality ⚡️✨💫
Good morning! How do you all stay hydrated??
One of my favorite ways is coconut water, straight from the coconut, not the bottle stuff that can be filled with sugars and artificial preservatives!
Rich in potassium, magnesium, manganese and vitamin C and calcium, coconut water is great for post-workouts to prevent dehydration and replenishes these electrolytes lost during intense workouts.
It’s packed with antioxidants and research shows it may even help lower blood sugar levels, reduce kidney stones, regulate blood pressure, increase overall energy and metabolism! Coconut water is nature’s alternative to energy drinks, it’s anti-aging, immunity boosting and has PH balancing properties.
Try to start your week off right with a tall glass of coconut water instead of coffee or energy drinks. Don’t like the taste? Add a few slice of orange or lemon. Even add in some pineapple chunks to give your drink a yummy, fruity piña colada vibe.
Beat the blues! Start your week off with this chia pudding topped with a banana, blueberry smoothie 💙

Smoothie: 🌱1 frozen banana🌱1/2 cup frozen blueberries🌱1/4 cup almond milk🌱1 Tbsp almond butter🌱1 Tbsp ground flax🌱ice
Despite the popularity of ultra low carb diets, I still believe that for high performance, moderate carbs (from gluten free whole foods) is the sweet spot.
🧐 The benefits of this balance, at least for longevity, are supported by a new study. Researchers found that people who ate a low-carb diet (less than 40% of calories from carbs) and those who ate high-carb (more than 70% of calories) were more likely to die during the study than those with a moderate carb intake.
🌱 They also found that low-carb eaters who swapped carbs for fatty meats had a higher mortality risk. But those who traded carbs for plant-based proteins and fats had lower mortality risks.
🤔 The findings weren’t surprising to me, based on the overall body of nutrition research, and my experience with clients.
🍠 For most high performance people, I don’t typically recommend going much below 40% of calories from carbs. Eating foods like sweet potato, quinoa, fruit, and pulses exposes your body to a much broader spectrum of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and prebiotics. And, by not overconsuming these whole foods portion wise, you are still able to achieve or maintain leanness.
💪 In my practice I also find that high performance folks who follow moderate carb diets are able to reduce body fat, while seeing marked improvements in cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, etc. That’s in addition to more everyday energy, better mood, sleep, performance, recovery, and excellent digestive health. I don’t consistently see this with very low carb plans.
🥑 The study also supports that if you do choose to follow a low carb diet, opting for more plant based proteins and fats offers better health protection, another pattern that jibes with my client experience.
🍴40% carbs for a 1,600 calorie day would be 160 grams of carb. Swipe to the 2nd image for what this might look like.
🤫 Obviously some people have success with very low carb approaches and plans with more animal-based foods. But based on my experience, moderate carbs fare better long term for both high performance and optimal health. For more on the study, check out my quotes in BuzzFeed (link in bio).
👉 Your thoughts?
We asked for your thoughts, and it was about 50 / 50 so we decided to go with renovating our entryway next! It was in need of a major makeover, and we can't wait to get started. All of the before pictures are on today's blog, and the details of everything we have planned! Can you believe those stairs? #whataheadache
We had a BBQ to attend yesterday and I wanted to bring something simple, refreshing and delicious! Bam, watermelon, cherries and mint.
A couple years ago my kids asked me how come we’ve never had a watermelon seed spitting contest? I had to think about that for a moment and then it hit me, we only have seedless watermelon... duh! So now I always try to pair watermelon with cherries, just in case we need to bring a bit of old time fun to a picnic. Enjoy!
This post is for people who want to build muscle!
We were told that we need protein to build muscles and to grow stronger, I used to think that too, although I was never a super fitness enthusiast..until 6 months ago I started working out inspired by my friend @wokeliving
I just want to make it clear for you, if you think that animal protein will help you achieve your optimal health, you are quite wrong 💚
Where did the protein came from? The cow ate plants which gave her that minerals and proteins! So if you want to gain more muscle and get stronger! Eat more plants! For some people it will not make sense since many of us grew up on the thinking that meat will make us strong and when we stop consuming it we get weak! No! You get weak because you are not eating enough plants! You are not getting enough minerals!!! If you become vegan but you still eat industrial processed food don’t be surprised when you don’t feel strong and full of energy as you thought you would be!
I’m saying these words with love to you! I want you to be super healthy and super happy! You deserve it 😊💚 I made this smoothie for an after workout! It’s full of minerals 😊💚
This super green smoothie contain:
6-7 Dino kale leafs
1 1/2 tbs hemp powder
MONDAY 🙌 INSPIRATION

I’m currently reading a tiny little book 🤓📖 that caught my attention at the airport a while back, it’s called “A Monk’s Guide to a Clean House and Mind” by Shoukei Matsumoto, it gives lovely insights and tips on how to clean your house and mind the buddhist way.
The first time I went to JP I was wowed by the overall cleanliness, everywhere was s p o t l e s s.
Behind this dedication to keeping private and public spaces always clean and tidy there is much more than I thought.
As much as probably everyone loves being in clean and neat environments, not as many of us love and enjoy the cleaning part (at least I don’t 😅). Well this book is a game-changer. Thinking of your house as a reflection of your mind space makes you care deeply more about how “you treat it” and every act becomes an act of love, even chores and cleaning.
While it might sound crazy at first, it actually works. .
How do you feel about household chores?
Love them? 🤪 Find them enjoyable/therapeutic? Or is it something you just want to get over with?
Let me know in the comments ☺️✨
Have a wonderful start of the week!
Whaddup knee scar 🤙
I’ve had a few closing chapters in my life w finishing grad school and physical therapy last week. I’d usually get into a space of frantic *what do I do now I need to be productive* anxiety, but I’m just letting my life flow this week. Thinking I’ll write a blog post, get creative w new recipes in the kitchen, try new workouts, watch bachelor in paradise.... and get back to a morning routine.
As @thatguybamn says, “when you start off right, you end up right!” so I’m startin this morning off w a glass of ACV water as part of my morning routine! ACV helps reset your body’s pH to more alkaline, which helps w digestion and minimizes inflammation. It’s week 3 of Whole 30 and my body feels so damn good 🙌🏼
Startin this week strong and embracing tf out of this time off of school/work. Do y’all have a morning routine?
Shout out to @juicejunkiezuk for keeping us well and truly hydrated with some spectacular fruit juices @ukvegancampout we had the water melon and a couple of oranges which we can’t believe tasted so good and looking forward to some more @vegannightsldn on the 6th Sept 🔥🔥

There's nothing quite like a good SNACK! 😋
For this week's 🌿 MEATLESS MONDAY 🌿 we wanted to share one of our favourite healthy and easy snacks just in time for back-to-school. 📚🎒 If it’s not crunchy and a little salty, then we search high and low until we find something more satisfying. 😋 Well, search no more - these roasted chickpeas are just delicious! My kids, who love things plain, finished off both testing batches before Adam could even give them a try. 👅
An amazing source of fibre, protein and flavour - feel free to use different seasonings and mix up the flavour combinations! 💪
