Let’s talk #fungusgnats , people. I have noticed that not many #plantparents in the #houseplant community talk about pests and problems that affect their #plantbabies . Why is that? It can’t all be rainbows and perfection all the time, can it?! I discovered some fungus gnats on my large philodendron brasil yesterday - noticed a small fly around it when I was checking on my plant babies and then saw the little creepy crawlies (the larvae?) in the soil. That plant was immediately taken outside. I checked the rest and this #pepperomia also had a few in the soil 🤢😫Thankfully no other plants seem to be affected - these two, I’ve noticed, have more moist soil. I don’t water them often but it takes so long for the water to be absorbed or evaporate. I think both need to be #quarantined for a month after this and then will need a new spot in the house with more light. Today I’ll be headed to the garden centre to get ALL the treatments 😂, I’ll change out the soil on the affected plants, and I will be treating all my other plants as a preventative measure. This nonsense has gotten me all stressed! It’s #fungusfriday today for me 😡😱😂😩
I’ve learnt to admire this one from afar.
I think it’s best, It’s over (until next time)

Happy summer solstice! 🌙☀️ I ended up spending most of the first day of summer indoors because wowza it was hot today! 🔥 I did manage to get out and spot these babies growing beside my house. There’s a good chance they are weeds, but at least they’re pretty? 🤷🏼♀️ What did you do to celebrate the solstice?
I see you, summer. 🕶
To celebrate, I’m stocking up on sunnies, sandals, and seedless watermelon, researching recipes for a new favorite frozen drink, and treating myself to a summertime scent (have y’all tried Riddle by Santal yet? It’s the dreamieessst). What are your favorite things about summer? I’d love to know, so holler below. Today’s the longest day of the year, so make the most of it!
