Make a Change Challenge - Week 2
⭐️
First, an update on week 1. My challenge was to drink more water. 💧 Although I did drink more water, I didn't quite make my goal everyday. I tried setting a silent alarm on my phone. While it did remind me, sometimes it would go off when I couldn't drink water. An frankly, it was a bit annoying.

What worked was to carry a water bottle that had ounces listed on it. It made me aware of where I was for the day. I found it more helpful than the alarms. So I am hoping to better reach this goal going forward just using the marked water bottle.

My new goal for week 2 is to do a 30 second plank everyday. Planks are supposed to be one of the best ways to strengthen your core. (I don't know about you, but my core could really use some strengthening!)

I'm going to ask my 11 year-old to do them with me. This will help him keep in shape in the baseball off-season. ⚾️ And it will keep me motivated. We can keep each other accountable! Now if I could only get my 13 year-old to join us. (He's not wild about doing anything related to exercise! 🤷‍♀️)

Návod ako si spevniť telo komplexným cvikom. Plank (doska) 
Jeden z najefektívnejších cvikov, pri ktorom zapájame všetky svalové partie.
Je to statické cvičenie, ktoré si nevyžaduje pohyb, avšak technika prevedenia je veľmi dôležitá.
Lakte sú v úrovni ramien a tvoria 90 stupňový uhol. Telo ostáva vzpriamené v jednej úrovni od hlavy k pätám.
Pravidelným cvičením planku získame: •pevný stred tela •ploché a vypracované brušné svalstvo •vytvarované nohy a zadok •celkové zlepšenie držania tela
Trénujeme každý deň a začíname od 30sekúnd, čas postupne predlžujeme.

Here you see one of my students do the plank. Great attempt considering the fact that she has had a shoulder injury and has been very stiff due to years of intense weight training with absolutely no supporting flexibility based stretches. 
The best part about doing one on one sessions is as a teacher you too get to learn a lot about the human body,the person's strengths,weaknesses, temperament,etc and a whole lot of other factors. 
I know sometimes I tend to push a bit hard. Neha Sahay,you have been a good student, dedicated, always ready to try and disciplined. That's the way to go girl. Day 21: 
1. Down dog chest presses
- from plank press back to down dog and lift head to look at the space between the hands, without changing inverted V shape of body, inhale to bend elbows out to the side as low as you are able, keeping back flat and shoulder blades engaged down the back, exhale to press back up extending elbows. 
2 sets x 8 reps 🌟🌟🌟🌟
2. Dive bombers
- from down dog gaze between the hands, inhale to bend elbows in a down dog chest press as low as possible and then leading with the head continue through to an extension (modified upward dog), then exhale initiating from the head articulate the spine through flexion up and back to downward dog. That's 1 rep. (move slowly video has been sped up) 
2 sets x 5 reps ☝️☝️☝️☝️
• Keep your lower back lengthened by reaching your tailbone slightly under and drawing your lower abs in.
• Press down through the whole hand and keep your collar bones open.
• Engage your glutes and your legs always! Strong planks are also about strong engaged legs.
