Today is World Osteoporosis Day and in case you missed this, THIS is my mom. She has #osteoporosis . She gets up each morning at 5am to walk. She works out with a trainer once a week (and deadlifts 60 pounds with kettlebells!) She does yoga and @gotbuffbones each week. In other words, she still lives a very active healthy life! 💪 And that active life is what also keeps her strong. She’s participating in our @gotbuffbones theme this year for #worldosteoporosisday showing how important the wrists are to something she loves doing - shopping! Here she’s at the local farmers market in Kauai where we found an incredible avocado today. And she needs healthy wrists to pick up such a delicacy. 🥑 Go MOM! 👩👧
Thanks to those who’ve joined me in sharing a photo of how their wrists are crucial to the things they love doing in daily life! If you haven’t yet, you can jump on the bandwagon now and tag @gotbuffbones #worldosteoporosisday#buffbones#loveyourbones - the world wants to see! ❤️
And to @lisakayepilates who’s tagged me for #breastcancerawarenessmonth - thank you! My mother is a Breast Cancer survivor on op of this and yet another role model for never letting a diagnosis stop your fighting spirit! ⚡️#researchisthereason @bcrfcure
It’s World Osteoporosis Day! 💪 Our Buff Bones® theme this year is a reminder of the importance of your WRISTS to daily life 🤛 - everything from cooking, shopping, playing with kids, gardening, texting, opening doors... even buying enormous Hawaiian avocados at a Kauai #farmersmarket ! 🏝🥑 Yes indeed this is @rebekahrotstein ’s mom - at 72 she has become a role model for those with osteoporosis who can live a healthy, full, active life through a commitment to daily exercise and movement! 🙌

If I’ve got just a short amount of time to workout, I usually target my ‘problem’ areas (in my case legs and bum) which I guess is what a lot of us do right? SO I have to remind myself to do more specific upper body work 💪🏻What I find really gets results in any area is to target the same muscle groups over and over in various exercises, really working them to fatigue 🔥🔥🔥So here are a few of my fav upper body moves! Tricep push ups go as heavy as you can take without compromising your alignment and technique. The other two, go light. #powerpilatesuk
Oblique Twists ⚡️
Simple and effective.
Add them to your workout this weekend for an extra burn!
•As you exhale, twist the top arm through and activate your abdominals.
•keep the activation in your abdominals as you return to start position.
Have a great weekend everyone ✨
Pistol Squat, the King of all Leg exercise!
This calisthenics movement allows you to build tremendous strength in your lower body. As well as working your abs & lower back, practising pistol squats & developing the mobility needed to preform them efficiently, will improve your balance & all over body control #remedymoves 📸 @gillybeangirl

A huge congratulations to my favourite Geelong studio @upstateyoga who officially made the move to Melbourne and opened the doors of their beautiful new Balaclava yoga and Pilates studio today. I have trained with @upstateyoga for many years, long before they had their reformer studios and when they were still called Geelong Bikram Yoga.
Thank you for inviting me to your launch and for a killer class, I had sweat dripping off me everywhere. I look forward to many more classes across your Geelong and Melbourne studios. ❤️😘
Thanks for the pic @kristyleabrown ❤️😘
Time out 👌🏻
This has been my biggest week for long time - teaching 10 Pilates classes, 4 body pump, 3 RPM, 1 body attack, 1 bums&bellies and 2 barre. As well as my own Pilates training and today’s stages cycle class. My legs are sorer than after any marathon and I have thought several times this week that perhaps I am getting too old for this ... but the body is an amazing thing, it always finds that little bit of extra energy from somewhere ❤️
It’s World Osteoporosis Day tomorrow 💪 and our @gotbuffbones theme this year is a reminder of the importance of your WRISTS to daily life. 🤛 The wrists are the third most common site of fracture in #osteoporosis but the area most likely to affect EVERY aspect of your life! Join me in sharing a creative photo of yourself in the everyday activities that matter to you which require healthy wrists - whether it’s cooking, cartwheeling, shopping, lifting kids, golfing, maybe it’s even holding a glass of wine on vacation! 😁🍷🏝 Share one of your hobbies or interests and tag @gotbuffbones and any friends along with #buffbones#worldosteoporosisday#loveyourbones and support us along with the International Osteoporosis Foundation to bring awareness to our mission for helping people stay strong and fracture free!
No need to compete with others. Just be nice. Think about the way your words have a long lasting effect on the people who look up to you. Whether it be your spouse, child, boss, friend, telemarketer 😝. We could all use a little self check once in a while. Lift each other up and while you’re at it. Let me see you flex 💪🏼// #flexfriday *
