Side planks can be done on the forearms like shown in this picture, or make it into an arm balance by coming up onto the supporting hand.
What to keep in mind during side planks: position hand slightly in front of shoulder, lining elbow up under shoulder. Align your body into one long diagonal line from your heels to the crown of your head keeping your hips square as if they were between 2 panes of glass.
Side planks target your obliques but they also can improve shoulder & hip mobility! 🙌🏼👍🏼
Keep in mind: lifting from your hips so they don’t sag towards the carriage, push yourself away from carriage with supporting forearm, remember to BREATHE, and squeeze that booty & core throughout the plank.

Summer is made for all the outdoor activities and I love being active outdoors! But you already knew that😉 I’ve been doing Pilates for almost 2 years now and although I felt my body change pretty quickly, I still continue to feel the improvements. The other day, I noticed how much I’ve increased my pelvic stability overtime which has taken the pressure off my lower back and knees preventing any further pain especially as I walk, hike, and bike.
What a lot of you don’t know is that I was diagnosed with Osgood Schlatter disease as a kid.
