One of my favorite things about Pilates is that it allows me to pursue all the other things I love to do — chasing my kids, spinning, running, walking the not-so-small hills of Westchester, chasing my kids some more. I can go as hard as I want when the mood strikes, knowing that my spine has actually got my back. Lately it’s been a full on @Peloton affair, riding with the amazing @robinnyc. Her cues keep me riding with swagger and great posture, and follow me to post-ride Pilates sessions. I wear my crown from bike to reformer and everywhere in between. In this video, you will notice a difference between her first swan and her last (isn't it always that way 😉). The cue that I used before she went for the last one was, " Pull your heart through and let your collar bone smile. "

Underhanded for an open chest and and a tight arm against the ribs. Keeping the ribs down on the exhale/exertion and wrapping those abs along with the lats. Pilates Push-Ups... Qu’est ce que c’est ⁉️
▫️Besides the fact that Pilates BASI Push-Up is a combination of Roll-down, Push-up itself and hard transition with hand walking (where the point is to keep pelvis as stable as possible - and I'm still working on that, as you see).. ▫️.. The most important is to learn to keep scapulae absolutely still as you bend the elbows and then lift up. That is a principled difference with all the push-ups you've been taught by your gym instructors before ☝🏻 No matter how low you can go - keep attention on your shoulder blades, or, better ask your pal to check yourself at the beginning 🤲

Если вы думали, что можете отжаться раз 50, то попробуйте отжаться теперь с абсолютно недвижимыми лопатками. Попробовали? Уверена, что и до пола носом вы тоже не достали. А если достали, то попросите кого-то проверить вас, так как практика показывает, что лопатки свои почувствовать самому не всегда удаётся. Бон-вуаяж!

Bad cues feel like mosquitoes buzzing in my ear. Annoying AF. Your stomach does not do the work of the hip flexors or the knee flexors/extensors. It is anatomically impossible for your stomach to move a reformer while you lie on your back.
Shown here are the muscle groups that ARE involved. 
Hip flexors flexed to hold the ball, knee extensors & flexors to straighten & bend the knee.

Try thinking of this during footwork next time and watch how your muscle engagement will change. Think of the femurs rolling back into the Hip Sockets as you come into your stopper! #lifechanging (There’s a bit of nuetral to imprint breath hiding here) Can you spot how small the tuck of the pelvis is when imprint is found with the abdominals?

С𑰡егодня на повестке дня следующие понятия⏩

🎆“ЗИП” (ZIP - от англ. застежка/молния) - образ “застежки на молнии” применяется, когда необходимо дать команду приблизить седалищные кости и внутренние и внешние бедра друг к другу, иными словами плотно свести ноги вместе и удерживать их в таком положении. Также эту команду применяют к области живота, когда нужно его подтянуть и приподнять вверх. ☝Важно понимать, что молнию мы тянем не только вверх, в этом случае вы будете сильно округлять поясницу и сокращать прямую мышцу живота, это неправильно🚫 Представьте, что вы ухватили молнию снизу и тянете ее вниз одной рукой, а другой застегиваете вверх. Таким образом, у вас получится разнонаправленное движение и вы, наоборот, удлините мышцы живота от подвздошных костей до нижних ребер. ❗Стремитесь именно к этому! ПРИМЕР УПРАЖНЕНИЙ: вся серия лежа на животе - Swan Dive, Single&Double Leg Kick, все упражнения лежа на спине.

🎆Положение “СТОЛА” (Table Top) - может использоваться в отношении организации всего тела, тогда это положение на 4х точках опоры или же в отношении положения ног, когда мы лежим на спине. В последнем случае необходимо согнуть ноги в коленях до 90 градусов, а также выстроить бедра по отношению к корпусу также на 90 градусов. ПРИМЕР УПРАЖНЕНИЙ: Side to side, Toe taps, Criss Cross.

As you practice the Plank, simply imagine these energy lines and notice if it helps you: 
1. Feel more control and connection during the exercise. 
2. More strength and correct positioning during the exercise.

Любой новичок, впервые попав на класс Пилатеса, может столкнуться с непониманием речевых инструкций тренера😯 Не потому, что тренер какой-то не такой попался, а просто потому, что в Пилатесе есть своя особенная терминология, которую мы - тренера - используем регулярно🖐 К этой терминологии учеников необходимо приучать постепенно, вводя и объясняя те или иные понятия непосредственно во время уроков, закрепляя их на последующих занятиях, и так, шаг за шагом, добиваясь полного взаимопонимания с группой 🤗 В случае успешного освоения основных понятий и терминов, через некоторое время вся группа по одному только взмаху руки или короткому слову тренера, начинает двигаться как единый организм в общем потоке 😍 Лично для нас достичь такого единства и понимания - это высший тренерский пилотаж!!! Но и в персональных тренировках подобное взаимодействие весьма пригодится для более эффективного освоения техники упражнений и достижения любых поставленных результатов. Всё-таки на одном языке разговаривать гораздо удобнее 😉

🎆Начнем с такого понятия, как “КОВШ” (Abdominal Scoop) - это понятие имеет отношение к области живота. Представьте, что вы сначала подтянули живот к спине, а затем вверх к нижним ребрам. При этом поясница и таз остаются в нейтральном положении и не двигаются. Уплощение поясничного изгиба или наклон таза на себя при этом будет ошибкой. Постарайтесь задействовать только мышцы живота изолированно. Можно держать в голове образ глубокой ложечки для мороженного, именно так выглядит КОВШ в Пилатесе 😛 ПРИМЕР УПРАЖНЕНИЙ: Скручивание, Вытяжение спины.

I can go on forever and there is so much more to it then this but a good start to create awareness and tactile, objective way for your client to practice 'pulling' air in with purpose.
