Between my full-time job, a growing client list, bootcamps and just life in general, it’s getting tougher to make time to get my workouts in. So the days I do train, I have to make sure my sessions are challenging and efficient. Most people I train have a similar challenge - not enough time in the day which means every exercise in my routine or my clients routine has a purpose and is a step towards reaching our goals - there are no “filler” exercises.——————————————————————
More importantly, my nutrition has to be on point. Which is why I recently started a meal plan with @kettlebellkitchen. My meals come prepared and macros are measured specifically for my goals - not to mention they’re absolutely delicious!

I also make it a point to keep my weekends client/bootcamp free. This way, I have time to spend time with my dad, workout, review previous sessions for all my clients and adjust programs if necessary. So when Monday rolls around, I hit the ground running with a clear plan and feeling refreshed.

Besides losing fat and gaining strength, one of Stephanie’s biggest improvements has been her mobility.  6 weeks ago, a 90 90 sit would cause a lot of pain and she could not lean forward as far as she does now. Today, not only is she doing them unassisted, we’ve progressed into a passive range leg extension. This is progress!

🔹Core motor control - You can’t really tell but there’s a 5lb plate on my back. If my lower back moves too much (due to lack of motor control) the plate will fall off. .

If you can’t brace your core and control its movements, there no point in trying to row an 80lb dumbbell.

Happy Monday everyone! For those of us who sit at a desk for extended periods of time, these two mobility exercises should be a part of your warm-up. First we attack tightness in the chest and shoulders with half kneeling t-spine extension and rotation. Next is a motor control and core stability exercise - trying to stop the “butt wink” at the bottom of my squat. Notice my heels are elevated as I’m still working to improve ankle mobility/dorsiflexion. I’ll talk more about that next week. .
