I love the markings on this old table. It was the kitchen table in Jean’s childhood home, and made by his great grandfather.⠀
We did it up together when we moved out together just before we got married, and while we don’t use it as our main table anymore, I often will use it to seat extra guests when we are more than 6 people.. or sometimes I use it for photos too! ⠀
Add a nostalgic cumquat recipe and a spoon I carved myself and this is one photograph full of feeling. ⠀

I bought along one of my favourite recipes from Simple - couscous spiced with ras el hanout & cumin, with caramelised onions, almonds, sultanas, fresh herbs, lemon and topped with sweet cherry tomatoes. I can’t think of a better way to try so many recipes from the book and catch up with good friends, we had such a feast! If you know my feed a bit there’s another quite similar photo to this one but with radishes. I just love to observe the texture and color of different fruits or veggies. zucchini pasta with preserved lemon herb sauce + squash blossoms + halloumi
this pasta dish is an ode to the last of what remains of our summer garden + the greatness that is crisp fried halloumi and @nyshuk preserved lemon paste...its basically the perfect meal that I want to eat over and over again and you should too 😘

Perfect Seared Branzino with a Brussels Sprouts salad with Parmesan and Dijon Sauce . This is such an easy dish to have on the holiday as a light and fresh lunch. Easiest quickest tastiest fish you will ever make . ———————————————————
Take 2 fillets of branzino with skin and rinse it with cold water. Pat it dry with bounty and season with salt and pepper . Lay one fillet on top of the other with the skin facing up. Grill the fish on a nonstick pan with olive oil spray and cook until you see the edges get golden and crispy about 3 minutes. Flip and let it get golden add in half tbsp of butter or , coconut oil flavored butter , or earth balance and baste the fish by tilting the pan to cover the fish with butter . Let it get more crispy for another 3 -4 minutes. Remove from the flame and let it sit on a griddle to remove excess oil and to keep the skin crispy and not wet from the excess oil.

Marinate the slaw with the sauce and massage it till it’s soft then add remaining ingredients and toss . The massaging helps with digestion.
Make sure to squeeze lemon on the fish before serving and serve on the side toasted pita chips and squeeze with lemon

During our pre-lesson consultation, Dev expressed to me that she wanted her photos to have more 'pop' and that she wanted to learn how I use Lightroom to achieve my signature style
During our lesson I taught her all of my Lightroom editing tricks and specifically how to address her challenges with her camera settings and post-processing. And I must say, that I can already notice the difference in her recent work @devamadeo
Something Dev said to me during our time on the phone together really resonated with me. While she had taken several online courses in the past and learned a lot, she was lacking one-on-one feedback and real time instruction which is exactly what you get when you sign up for my virtual one-on-one lessons!

We kicked today off with our little Wednesday morning ritual, taking turns to cook each other a big breakfast before work. This morning I was treated to spinach and eggs on crusty bread and I couldn’t think of a better way to start hump day. I didn’t manage to get a picture unfortunately so here’s one of a delicious treat from the weekend that I still haven’t stopped dreaming about; sage waffle with squash, smoked chilli jelly and a peanut butter whip (yes it’s as dreamy as it sounds).
