It’s almost the weekend! What are your plans?🤔

today was my last day at my full time job. I made the decision to leave, after many many sleepless nights and like 80 self-improvement podcasts, to pursue portrait photography as a career. I’ve known for a long time now that this is a path that I’ve been ignoring for fear of the unknown or the unstable, but through the unpredictability of people and places and life itself I’ve realized that the unexpected is often what makes our lives more rich and our photos more authentic. I’ve still got a lot to learn and a hella long to-do list, so if you have even just a lil advice, a resource to share, would like to collab, or just grab some coffee, please hit me in the comments or shoot me a dm. I’ll be throwing some celebratory shoot deals on my story in the coming week, so stay tuned for some steals! onward and upward, kiddos!
this concludes my serious caption now back to our regularly scheduled programming
I had the opportunity to venture into a small town in Sarawak over the long weekend and really loved how the people there are so humble and warm. .
From fresh local produce at the markets to classic Foo Chow local dishes to scenic experience at the Rajang river, I am truly blessed to absorb all of the experience like a local and definitely looking forward to coming back again soon! 😍 #sonyshaunie .

; 2018 is the year where i took the most flights in a year.
In the month of the lunar calendar a friend and I set off from KL to Palembang, then to Jambi, and step foot to Jakarta.
It was my first trip to the 3 states of Indonesia. I learnt many things about traditional textiles - Batik, Songket, and the different kinds of Tenun which eventually lead me learning about the history of these places. Yes, I learned history through textiles and I think traditional textiles are one of the best mediums to teach history; because textiles are evidence to many events.
I hope next year could be as knowledgeable as this year because this year has been humbling.
This photo is one of my favourite shot I had during my trip. I posted the same one with a different ratio crop few months back; thought it looked better like this.
Can't believe that I got it. Thanks @jblconcertrun For the Lucky draw prize.
This is the 2nd year been with you and hope more to come. The itinerary for this year was amazing and this is the 1st time all the runners run in water. The challenges were also exciting.
Lost in the radiance of the day with an hour until the sun sets. Sixty golden minutes. I was going through the archives of photos I’ve taken so far this year and found this gem. I really like the way the light hits in this one. Thank you to @queen_salt for being a wonderful model and sorry it took me so long to post this one. Shout out to the photography meetups through the NC State photography organizations that I was able to be a part of! Times like those will stay in my memory for a long time. I miss all of you and hope all is well!
